Unofficial CyanogenMod 10 Build on Oppo Find5
This is really sweet CM 10, I will help in any way I can when I get my phone sometime this week. I have done some beta testing before and I have done a lot of testing new Roms, Kernels and Apps. I don't know where (KaMma -Developer) is? He was on the Oppo Find 5 forums asking for source code so that he could start to build CM, maybe you 2 can get together and make it easier for both of you. The more people that are working on the same project it seems to get a lot more issues sorted out and then things get fixed lot faster. Anyways KaMma is a member here, he has created a few apps that are in the Play Store so you should be able to get in touch with him, that's if you would even want to. Just a suggestion.
I cant wait to get my Oppo Find 5 this week sometime. From all the reviews that I have been watching it seems like all of the reviewers have said that this is a really nice device and is a lot better than most devices in its class. And it has some extremely good looks to go along with it, with its full blacked out screen on the newer batches where it does not have any buttons that can bee sen. Its lie a solid black slab and looks as good if not better than my HTC One X.
I believe that the Find 5 is a device that it is only going to get better when more people start to receive their devices, and that should be very soon according to Oppo, they told me in an email that everyone who has already ordered will have their phone sent by the end out this week. Only a handful of people have this device in their hands and the development has already began for it, that's awesome! With all the dev work people are starting for it already, I think this is going to be a great developmental device.
Once again thank you very much for putting your time and effort into starting CM 10 and making the OF5 a better device. When I get paid Friday, I got some beer or coffee money to pass around for you guys hard work. I really want to see this phone succeed, and I think people are underestimating this device.:victory:

Sorry about getting back so slow. Been busy with other things. I'll try to fix it shortly.
I hadn't received much response on the oppo forums for debuggers so I thought "meh"

Most people are getting their shipment today,so if you post the fix there'll be more testers

Re: [ROM] CyanogenMod
What Allan said, and plus I think I got my ADB working, so I can debug as well. I hope

I've fixed the init files, however I am trying to figure out how/where to place the .mbn images for them to be properly zipped up with build. I'd rather not have to manually open up the flashable zip and place them.

Someone please paste output of the following on your stock rom, I forgot to fix the recovery file thats the problem.
adb shell mount

Question: Why would I want to upgrade to JB from ICS? What are the advantages? I am running SLIM 4.2 and love it. I know JB is the latest and greatest but not sure why people are set on switching from an already great ICS ROM. Just curious as to the pluses.

Just wanted to point this out to you. On this page you refer to the old install method (base/essentials)
"If the flash is too quick ( < 5 seconds or so), reflash base before flashing essentials." maybe reword that to the new way so people don't get confused? Of course that is assuming they do the proper reading

[DEV][WIP] Paranoid Android AOSPA 3+ [Update!]

This thread is going to be starting up again for a little while now that we have some new builds of CM for the Note 8.
Hello developers and anyone else!
This is my first developer-related thread and I don't know how to begin, but this thread is going to be dedicated to porting AOSPA 3+ to the Note 8.
I've semi-successfully ported Paranoid Android 3.60 to the N5110, I can get it to install and boot but that is all.
Since I'm going to be on vacation from July 22 until July 26th, not much will be going on here, but I wanted to get a thread going.
Also, after different ways of flashing I still get stuck at the boot animation. If anybody has any advice that can help with this issue it would be greatly appreciated as it would help get the ROM out for release sooner.
Planned Features
S-Pen support with Note Buddy Lite
Custom Kernel with O/C support
More will come once I get this booting!
Cheers, 64kb.

Just have fun with it...I've been a developer off and on for more than a few decades and never have done any system level stuff like you're trying so I think it's nifty you are even taking a whack at it. No harm in trying...plus the rest of us can learn from you too. so THANkS again...
Would this work using the kernel for Sbrissen's CM10.1 Note 8.0 rom?

I'm excited to see this develop. My Note 8 gets to me on Saturday and I loved PA when I've flashed it one my phone. I'm sure I'll get bored of TouchWiz fast enough to flash this as soon as it's useable

There's a CyanogenMod rom that works well while you wait.
So I'm back from vacation now and I asked sbrissen permission to use his CM 10.1 build as a base, hopefully I get the needed permission and this project will start up again! Also, I've added a planned features list.

Will you be including hold back to force close? That's one that's not in the GS3 version?
This would be great if so - currently running PA 3.99 on my Note 2 and miss features on my Note 8 (running CM 10.2).

Thought
So I finally got a mash of PA 3.99 (slick_rick's Note 2 version) and CM10.2 (sbrissen) "working", in that it images and starts to boot, but with the same results you got - looped logo. FWIW, CM10 also gets the oblong boot logo, but then snaps to normal. This lead me to first thought, which is the framework-res.apk needs to have the dpi settings added for the Note 8, which looking it up is tvdpi - notes I've found in research say that the hdpi will scale, but I can't say for certain. I'm going to try copying the framework-res.apk over from CM10 and see what I get.
Wow, thank goodness someone is working on PA3+ for Note 8. Running CM10.2 but missing the Tablet/Phablet/Phone mode!
looking forward seeing this in action!
Are you still working on this project?

Hello and welcome to Fusion rom!
Hi there, I'm the official maintainer for your device and I'll be updating this ROM on behalf of the Fusion team.
So lets get started!

Fusion rom is based on Android Lollipop and is built for a more user friendly environment and many fixes and improvements to the source code.
This results in a fast, battery friendly rom for your phone including many features for everybody to enjoy and customize the rom to their own likings.
This is not a single person project.
It's the work of many different people spending time to make Android better.

I might be wrong but I believe an official is recognized by the devs of the rom and supports ota while unofficial does not support ota. Like I said I could be wrong. For an example look at cm12.1 linuxxx's version is official and supports ota while bitti's and kundankools has to be downloaded from a file server manually. Also it could be no cherry picked features are added to the rom. It is the exact same as the rom they developed. No more no less for the most part

SlyUk he also explained why it is official in red text in the op. I was on break at work and didn't have all that much time to read it. He says he is the official maintainer for this rom on behalf of the fusion team which is was one of the points I was trying to establish but reading my post I see I didn't do that like I was intending to and wasn't very clear about it when i edited that last sentence in there. I was running out of time on my break, plus my signal was bad giving me slow internet and just got side tracked in my thinking a bit. However the points I made beside that I believe are still relevant to your question also.

Moto X 2013 (1st Gen) with unofficial CM13 ROM

I found a video in a Facebook Forum Moto X LatinAmerica, and someone posted a video about a the Moto X 2013 its running a unofficial CM13 ROM (Android Marshmallow 6.0), there are no links in the description, does anyone no where I can get that ROM!!?
I Know it must be buggy but still I think its worth a shot :fingers-crossed:
Unfortunately, I couldn't post the video because I m a newbie, but the video is on Youtube labeled as Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow para Moto X XT1058
wow nice, maybe in 1 month they released the cm13 for our moto x
I saw that video too but no link?
The screen capture didn't have the navigation bar, which is a bit weird. Also, someone posted "Cm 13 X1", with a screen shot on G+ group MOTO ROMS. It looks like the developer wants his trusted sources to test it before other people

It just because there is only one professional and really skilled developer for our device left atm. I am thinking off Ethan Chen of Cyanogenmod and since he pushed a bunch of commits for cm13 in the last days i am sure we will see a official version for our device too. Perhaps at the end of january, like cyanogenmod announced to release the first stable version than.
Anyway i recommend not to be in hurry, unless you want a beta rom on your phone with probably a lot of bugs.
At least the latest kitkat and lollipop ports took nearly half a year until they were stable and full functional. Furthermore a lot of apps that needs some adaptions for marhsmallow.

Changelogs
As we're getting back into the thread game, keeping up with threads and updating them as per changelogs can be too hectic given our schedule. However, very detailed changelogs always go up on our Google+ page, follow us for constant updates!
Instructions & requirements
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano and Banks GAPPS work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit -
Once you have all the required files - boot into recovery and wipe the bananas out of your device. Get into the wipe menu and wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache (basically everything except Internal Storage).
Once wiped, get into the "Install from zip" menu and select the ROM zip. (pa_bacon_6.x...). Once added to the install queue, TWRP will ask you if you want to add more zips into the queue - Click on "add more zips" and select the GAPPS package.
Swipe the bar on the bottom to flash/install zips. Once both zips are done installing - Reboot into system and set-up your device, do not do anything else.
Once you're done setting up your device - well that's when you're done. One thing though - Make sure you DO NOT INSTALL any other zip in the same queue as the ROM & GAPPS. Meaning, do not flash anything like a kernel or a root package while installing the ROM. We recommend you do that AFTER you're done setting up your device.

Of course not.
Awesome! I haven't even received the phone yet and there's already so much development to get excited about. Thanks for all your work!
Hello xboxfanj, glad to see you here.
test requires a pass word and the Roma does not start suddenly
I followed these instructions and it comes up asking for a password. When I format data it says phone.android.com has stopped.
Guys you need to format userdata over fastboot to get Paranoid working.

At what rate does it charge the phone without dash charging..?

Any idea about bugs?
I'm on PA 16-06 and I have now Google cast, no devices found. I'm on a clean install banks gapps. My oneplus 2 is on the same and it finds all Google cast dongle.
I also have no cast icon in you tube. Normally I can connect to my smart TV over WiFi and cast to it, but I don't have that option. I do on my oneplus 2 though
