Explain what? The app changes your DNS to the Google DNS, so it should work once you do that. Have you tried it?

Yes I have tried all the DNS there but youtube video doesn't play. In the app it say error connecting to the server.

Have you tried changing the DNS on your router? I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work.

Wireless tether 4 root and Xbox live

Just wondering if anyone else is using the wireless tether app for their 360? I didn't think it would work since it doesn't work for wii but I just tried to connect and it worked, been playing multiplayer halo reach on it all week!
*disclaimer need the new xboxes I think, but maybe old one with the wifi adapter thing
I don't have a wifi xbox, but when My internet was down once I used my phone as wifi for my laptop, then shared my laptop's interent via cable... worked fairly well.
actually, wireless tether 2.06 should work for xbox or wii... it's in infrastructure mode on these phones. On older phones (like I came from a hero) it could only do ad hoc
I've used it for my 360...mostly black ops..but it works

what am i doing wrong
i was hoping some one could help me out, or at least point me in the right direction here. I'm trying to connect through my droid x. It's rooted and i have wireless tether for root users. I've watched videos and read forums and followed them step by step. I've also tried pdanet and internet sharing through my computer and cannot get that to work either. Like i said i've watched videos and followed them exactly so i will take any help i can get. Thank you.

Are you picking up the adhoc network on the xbox?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
i can pick up my droid x's wireless network, or atleast it shows up when i scan for wireless networks. and when i try and connect it cannot connect to "androidtether" because it cannot find the IP addresses. so as for the ad hoc networks i'm not entierly sure. I'm kinda new at this type of stuff so you'll have to fogive me. But under configure connections it shows up as "infrastructure" as other forums has said it should.

App that shows active network connections?

Is there an app out there that can show what is currently using wifi on the Nexus 7? I just picked up my tablet and I noticed that there is wifi activiy and I would like an app that shows what exactly is using the connection since I don't have anything running that should be having a constant connection? So kind of like a firewall but without the need to block programs. I just want to see what is using the connection
Just look at the notification bar. It is posted there.

The notification bar does not tell me what process is using the internet. The wifi icon just shows network activity. I want to know what is causing that network activity
Oh, my bad man. I thought you needed to know which network you are on. Sorry about that. In fact I've been looking for something like that too.
You could always try using the data usage feature in your settings to see what might be doing it. Go to it, wait a minute or so and then refresh it. Whatever numbers have changed in that time are the culprits.
Afterwards I'd recommend Droidwall if you actually do want to block certain apps from the internet. Assuming you're rooted that is.

Same here, ive used it to get the $25 credit and to get some US only apps like pandora
What browser are you guys using with Orbot? The usual Orweb companion browser wasn't working on JB the last time I looked.

Dolphin HD for me.
Chrome
How are you setting the proxy up in chrome or dolphin ?
I've looked through all the popular browsers and don't see the option. Not finding add-ons that will do it either, I must be going blind.

Check transparent proxying in orbot,
Select which apps run through it, and it should just work.
The check button on top of orbot, will check to see if you are
Running through Tor.
Ahhh, thanks for the info.
I'm not rooted, so I can't use the transparent proxy option.
Firefox mobile has a proxy add-on that would do the job, but it only works with old versions that I don't want to use.
I guess I'll have to decide how bad I want Orbot to work...

You should at least root.. you can still have the stock ROM , but a lot more options available.

I read that in one of the reviews in the play store, tried it and it didn't seem to work. Tried it again today and it works. Thanks!
(using Dolphin HD)
How do you set this app up? I'm using vpn.. should I not use vpn and this instead?
My $25 credit is greyed out.. can't use it..
I setup already using Firefox, but still unable to use back the $25 credit. Still greyed out.. do we still need to use VPN when using this application?

Anyone tether to their PS3?

I can connect to Netflix and the like, but can't connect to the PlayStation Network to game at all. Anyone able to? What are your methods?

I don't think there is any different configuration to connect with PlayStation. You may check after changing the default Wi-Fi authentication protocol (WPA2)
hmm, i connected and logged in using my user and went into NBA2k13 and downloaded the updates
is that answers your question?

Are you using the built-in tethering app? Do you ever get redirects to the t-mobile upsell page when you use tethering on your computer?
For me, I can't even connect on my computer without either using Opera Browser or a UA-String change in Firefox. But I cannot do anything to make the PS3 not detect that I'm on t-mobile and block my connection. The PSN connection just "times out" because t-mo is blocking it.
Arrgghh
Edit: just saw you are in Beirut, not even on T-Mo USA I'm assuming lol. That could be why you have luck and I don't. DAMNIT!
I'd try using a 3rd party tether app. Namely the one that has its own google code page.

I've tried WiFi Tether, the TrevE version, foxFi, barnacle, pdanet.... none of them allow me to bypass the tmo upsell redirect.

I have had similar issues tethering my PS3.
Carrier: T mobile 70/month unlimited plan
Phone: Nexus 4
Initially, tethering worked for all PS3 applications (PSN, browser, netflix, system update). Then, they blocked PSN activity after a month or so. A few months later they blocked browser, but I could still use netflix and do system updates. Now nothing works. I have tried to use a wifi repeater in between the PS3 and Nexus 4 but still no dice, though I did not experiment too much with settings?
Id love to get my PS3 back online.

You guys really shouldn't use your phone data's download to download updates or games. Just use it to play online. It doesn't use up bandwidth to play. Heck I can play black ops 2 for an hour with tether and I use up like 30mb an hour. If you use it for downloading you're really going to have a red flag on your account.

Not trying to download a game. Just trying to download the blimp in gta. It's only a few kb I've heard. Also pdanet didn't work for me. I'm on carbon rom on my Nexus 4 and my wife also has carbon rom on her gs3. Her phone tethers perfectly. Any other tips?

Anyone have a Watchespn blackout work around?

I have done this on a PC using the hotspot shield vpn.... Decide to see if there was a hotspot shield VPN app for nexus 7...
Good news and bad news... There is an app, but not compatible with the device...
I tried a few VPN apps and it masks my IP when browsing... But when I launch my watchespn app, and try to view my game it still says it is blacked out...
Since the folks at xda-developers are some of the sharpest people on the Internet, I am hoping someone is willing to share their knowledge...
Thanks
Ez
