Apple iWatch - Other SmartWatches

One of the most rumoured Apple's devices. The design I saw on Gizmodo is awesome in my view. So what do you think about it? Will Apple release it and wil you buy it?
unfortunately, can't post images as not allowed to post urls, but you may google it and see the concept.

Seems like a typical Apple thing. Could be very interessting how it would work, because the bluetooth method is not that good in my opinion. Design looks pretty cool, but could be very expensive.

With android 1.5 ?

The motoactv watch runs on Android 2.3, and I've owned mine for over a year. Can you say ocarina of time on a watch? Or MXplayer for playback of .avi movies? Or a ton of other phone apps from the Google Play Store?

I don't think there will be a revolution since Jobs left.

Playstation Suite

Anyone following the Sony liveblog from Engadget? I really recommend you guys check it out, as there are some things being announced which are going to impact Android in amazing ways.
http://www.engadget.com/liveblog/live-from-sonys-tokyo-event/
Update: Basically, Sony just dropped a bombshell that brought an amazing amount of games to Android, obviously to compete against both Windows Phone 7 having Xbox integration and against Apple's formidable App Store. How, UNLIKE Sony to be thinking ahead.

I'm sure we will get it, 2 years from now when the 2.3 update comes out... :/
This has the potential to be enormous for Android, and for handheld gaming in general. The only concerns I have are:
1) The number of handsets that will have access, and if Cyanogenmod will count among them.
2) Piracy. As rampant as it was on the PSP and NDS (and yes, it was rampant), there is no doubt pressure within SCEA to take more advanced measures in combatting it. Android isn't the most securable platform at the moment (see: Netflix), and though I too am weak to 'unlimited' trial periods on games (hah), for this to really drive Android, it NEEDS to be profitable.
Hopefully the cost of games will be more in line with existing digital downloads than with past off-the-shelf prices.
I think it's great the Sony is supporting Android to such a degree. But, the PSX emulator is already out in the market. It's been out for quite some time now. Some of the roms don't work though. Hopefully, with official Sony support, all of the roms will work.
I would buy an official psx emu straigh from sony than anyone made by a third party (I don't mean offense, I have the emulator and enjoy), even though I paid for one already. I'd even buy the games straight from the sony store if they're priced good enough

Pre 3 seems like a winner

WebOS simply bests android and ios in usability. Hopefully the crap that was wrong with the OS was hopefully solved. The way multitasking is handled is best among the mobile OS' that alone sets it above the others. Androids great and has a huge following. Same for IOS just too constricted. I dont need yall to agree either.
Anyway its my kind of OS.
I don't think I can agree with that. The new webos may be able to compete when its launched.. truthfully I've got my hopes a little raised but meh.

While I am not particularly interested in WebOs at this point I will say this...tablet is ok..Pre3 is nothing impressive..
I mean they are going with the same cpu as the mytouch 4g over-clocked to 1.4ghz and wait till summer to release it? thats not really going to stand out much against all the dual core phones...
If they released it now it would have been pretty good..by summer its a yawn...

lol.. well.. only more than 3% of the android apps have to be "good" in order to beat palms 100% of 5,000+.
but thats not the point. no one cares about # of apps (except poor W7 Phones).
seriously, no body switched phones for # of "apps". cough apple, cough, if 3% of Apple's App Store (+400,000) was useful, there would be over 12,000 useful iphone apps, and no one wants 12,000 apps on their phones.
but, i actually think the Pre will do good because Android is a POS getting their act together (we have to wait until 2.3 or 3.0+ for native Android video chat? are you sh*ting me?, wake up Mountain View, CA, you might be late, but you still missed the boat.). We have 4G (WiMax/LTE/etc), we want video chat on our phones, full web browsing, corporate email/calendars, and other standard features, and we want it to work, period.
The HP Pre 3 will hit a sweet spot of phone features vs. carrier support vs. developers. It probably will not be popular (overall), but, if you needed it, I'm sure it will work.
after that, its anyones game... blackberry, android, webos, ios, w7.. (+/- 3 years from now.)

There is a way to watch NetFlix on your androids. I'm using PlayOn and watching all my media sources on my Galaxy Tab. I did upgrade to Flash 10.2, don't know if it works on 10.1 Here's a link to the Flash update
PlayOn is available in the market for free 2 week trial, then 5 bucks a month. I'm watching my NetFlix on Evo4G as well.
Pro's: It works
Con's:
1. Buffers occasionally, but I have a slow connection. I would expect it to run without buffering timeouts on cable. Will test at a friends house this week and report back.
2. Have to download the server to a PC and thus the PC has to be running for it to work. Not convenient right now as I downloaded it to my laptop, but I plan to serve it from my home entertainment PC which can remain on round the clock.
3. Costs $5......I like free, LOL
It doesn't work on any phone yet, and there's a good chance it never will. It likely needs a hardware DRM verification before it will stream. Unless someone can hack that restriction out of it, which I assume would be quite difficult, then it will never work until they release an official version.
F play on. **** is annoying. id rather wait for the organic version. awww yayuhh
Just buy an ipad its cheaper and doesn't need to be ripped, torn, or anything else to play netflix.
It also has poor cameras, less RAM, less customization, will never allow Flash, and so on. Hardly a good trade off when a Netflix app will be out soon.

Yeah, I agree that there is no need to mail or update since it can't use LTE nor an SD card. Faster processor is just down right not true since they come stock at roughly the same speed and performance benchmarks, but the xoom can be overclocked to be 50% faster. Flash rocks on my phone and tablet so I don't know what your experience was. Android apps are cheaper and can do more. As for gpu, it will likely change with a software update but if not I prefer consoles or a PC for true 3D games.

I just hate when big companies corner consumers to force people to buy their products and not someone else's. Too much of that going on these days, especially in the mobile and PC markets.

Actually the issue at hand has more to do with the production companies who would love any reason to back out of their contracts with Netflix and sue them. Essentially they won't let Netflix release anything if it even has a chance of being pirated and given Android's open source nature they need hardware DRM since they can't bake in the software DRM as in iOS and WP7.
Hope that provided some clarity.
i would think there would be someway hide the fact that you are accessing it with an android phone, make it think you are on a laptop or something using silverlight. i really have no idea how this works, or what it is that tells them you are on a android device, but with all the different types of emulators seems like someone could emulate that.
I would love to blame Apple as it is so much fun, but unfortunately this is a DRM (digital rights management) issue. There is a feeling that Android devices are too open source. (laughable since the pc is the #1 route for violating that with access to torrents and p2p). The windows based phones also have netflix. Netflix itself would love to get their app on Android phones as it can only increase business, but they must get past the issue of DRM. I'm waiting patiently as well.
How ironic is it that there was an ad for Netflix in my view of this thread
Anyways, we will get Netflix. I think the demand is too high for them to ignore.

[INFO] Google creates similar app like Siri but much clearer

Apple's Siri voice control system is as a 'digital personal assistant' designed to allow you to talk to your phone like you talk to other people.
Many Google Android functions already have similar apps built in - although not quite to the specifications of Apple's much-hyped control systems.
Now it seems Google may be about to unveil an official Android rival to Siri - called Majel after Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, the actor who played the voice of the Starship Enterprise in Star Trek.
The name was reported by sources speaking to the Android and Me blog this week.
The name tallies with earlier comments from Google staffers about a 'Star Trek'-like approach.
Google is definitely working on such a system - and this week announced that it had acquired the company Clever Sense, which offers a voice control app.
'I say this year because I’ve heard that engineers at Google X are working around the clock on finishing the first release and the NYTimes previously reported that one product would be released by Google X this year,' wrote Android and Me.
Google X is the search giant's 'blue sky ideas' division - a secretive lab where engineers are free to go wild with ideas such as talking fridges and lifts that take you to space.
'A January or February release might be more realistic,' said Android and Me. 'Other more advanced features like controlling phone actions and applications with natural language commands are expected to come later.'
In earlier interviews, Google acknowledged that it was indeed working on such as product - and that it would be rather like the voice of the Starship Enterprise.
'Our approach is more like Star Trek, the Starship Enterprise - everything is voice-aware,' said Google's Matias Duarte.
Press thanks if you like the post
