LG Optimus L3 configuration task - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, i've got a unusual task, i have to make LG L3 "kiosk mode" phones.
So i must disable all hardware buttons and status bar, so user shouldn't close our "kiosk app" somehow.
What should i prefer?
Now i'm thinking of root and using SwitchMe app, but i don't know, can it switch off hardware buttons.
Maybe there is some ROMs, that can do it?

Try XtreMIUI3

I'm pretty sure I saw a option like that in XtreMiui3. Search XDA for it.

Disable volume button camera/quick memo shortcuts?

Has anyone found a way to disable these shortcuts at all? I have the Verizon G2 and it's getting kind of annoying opening these when I don't want to.
There is no setting for this, but I'm sure it can be done with a mod.

This Xposed module will do the trick: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477586
I've been trying to do this the other way around - my hardware buttons were effectively disabled! I've just discovered that the QuickWindow case (when closed) disables the hardware buttons from launching the Camera and QuickMemo apps...
Solution: Fit a QuickWindow case (or glue a magnet to the screen!
B.
So no real solution yet, except from getting the pro G2Xposed?!
G2Xposed makes apps stopping, so this is not the best solution.
Still looking for solution of disabling Vol +/- buttins in blocked status.

[Q] Navbar: How can I set long-press actions?

Hello everybody,
this has probably been answered a thousand times, but I have utterly failed finding a concise answer to my question: I'm on MokeeROM, which seems to be your typical mix of AOSP/CM/Omni/PA-Roms. I'm assuming the settings page "Buttons and Layout" is not proprietary to this ROM (I think it's CM, right?). I know how I can change the buttons in these settings, but how can I add long-press options? I've gotten used to long-pressing the "recent apps" button to get a menu functionality. I know there are other ways, and I know I can just add the menu button itself as a forth button, but isn't there a way to get back what I am used to?
Thanks in advance!
Have you tried any xposed modules? I reccomend gravitybox but I am not sure if it will create conflicts. You can trawl the page of xposed modules

Thanks for the reply. No, so far I haven't tried xposed (at all). But it seems to me like this should already be possible within the confines of the existing system, shouldn't it?
I am also looking for this. Any update?

I go to Settings, scroll down to Slide Aside (Device section) and then click the toggle switch (top right), does that not work for you?
I don't even have that option...
I never really found it all that useful when Google's builtin Multitasking app lets me pick any open app (not just 3). Plus I don't have to manually hide anything.
I DO use the floating apps and Memo often.

Sorry, I read your initial post too quickly. I now understand that you meant you had disabled Slide Aside. So now it is listed with your Disabled apps but the Enable button is greyed out, correct?
I wonder if another app is also disabled that Slide Aside had as a dependency?
Are you rooted? Have you ever run GMD Auto Hide Softkeys?
No i'm not rooted.
D802 International with kit kat 4.4.2
As you'r right the button its greyed out.
And in the menu the option its not there.
same issue here, disabled slide away while phone is on root, flashed to official 4.4.2 and am unable to enable slide away.
I guess the solution is to root my phone and enable it again
But i'v never been rooted at all
No ideas guys?

Lol I have the opposite issue. I disabled mine (although mine is listed in disabled so idk wth is up with that) but slide aside is always showing up in running apps even though it is disabled in settings AND apps.

[Q] G2 Hold time too long

Hi there!
My D802 is rooted and I'm desperately looking for a way to make the hold time shorter.
To make it clear, I am referring to the time you need to hold , for example, the home button until the recent tasks screen appears.
The time you need to hold the power button until you see the power menu.
It's just too long for me.. I would like it to be snappy.
I also use the LG keyboard and the key hold time (to get numbers\ signs) is too long. I used to have Swiftkey where there is an option to manually set the hold time...but I went back to LG's keyboard because the auto correction in Swiftkey is just too aggressive.
ps, I already set the touch&hold time to short.
So..Any solution? Tweak ? anything ?
Thanks!
Gal
Install g2 tweaksbox and xposed framework. It will allow you to shorten the long press delay and even change the options. Check it out. G2 tweaksbox can be downloaded from the play store. Search Google for xposed!

It's pretty straightforward. It's located under Theme settings and Navigation bar.
Unfortunately it doesn't alter with the press and hold delay for the Power menu but that's rom specific.

Thank you,
Unfortunately It doesn't let you choose anything under 250ms , which AFAIK is "SHORT" in LG's launcher. Pretty useless feature..
250 msec is 0.25 seconds, comeon man. Anything less than that would cause problems between a tap and a long press. It's called a long press for a reason.

If you are rooted, you can use Xposed + Gravitybox, or some automation app like tasker (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/themes/root-navigation-light-control-t3712686)
Install magisk and there is a module for it. Look in forums.
