[HELP][ISSUE]Bricking while flashing **Modified Framework-res** - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi guyz,
First things about my device
~Deodexed Maximus ROM {Alpha}
~Tweaked
~My own Kernel
~And most of all... Bricked
How are y'all? I am making a custom Gaming ROM as mentioned before in the android development section. I am having a big issue here, it's that I modified framework-res.apk and I tried pushing through ADB but it Bricked. I even tried to flash it but no luck! You guys know I can't PM everyone as it takes so much time so... I need your help!
Also I tried to modify system apps like Gallery3D.apk or Settings.apk but all I get is that app disappears from my app drawer.
I know how to modify .9.png files, I take the reference from draw9patch. Any help would be Highly Appreciated!
Thanks & Regards,
Imranabbas22

Yep ... It boots well enough!
I tried Merruk kernel too but no luck!

Are you using a modified framework.jar
Might be your problem

I did not modify the framework.jar, only and only modified the framework-res.apk
I just changed the .9.png files and wallpaper...

Ok, I still do not get it? This is obviously the right way to do it, but how? What do I do with that APK?
Sorry I am new to ROM cooking, my ROM works awesome but I want to add some custom wallpapers to my ROM and change the default. This seems to be a common question with no easy answers.

you can easily unzip the apk file in Linux and do what you want to it and then rezip it in store mode and sign it. ( tadaaaaaa, it is it)
or in windows, change the apk to ZIP and Unzip it and then do what you want and then zip it in store mode change to apk and sign it in linux (or with cigwin in windows), again ( TADAAAAA, it is it)...

Could you explain a bit more?
The file htc-resource.apk contains the default background. But when I open it as a zip, I dont see any file which could be the default background. On decompiling with apkmanager, it tells me it has dependencies.
I know this thread is old, but I have the same question
If you are using the latest rom FroYo I suggest you look in the folder:
\SYSTEM\customize\resource

Modifying them there just shows them in Gallery. It doesnt make the background the default loaded when the rom is first installed
In framework-res.apk is what you need

Thank you! But when I changed the default wallpaper.jpg there, it showed that wallpaper for a second while booting up, and following the language and country setup, immediately reverted to the other one..I'm guessing there's one other location where this setting is present
HtcAddProgramWidget.apk - framework-res.apk - \SYSTEM\customize\resource
They are the only places where you can find wallpapers HTC (ammen you're not working on a custom ROM)

Modifying musicplayer.apk & other doubts regarding unpacking & packing apk!!

I like the option to change music from anywhere via notification but i hate the cheap default album art in it!! So I like to extract the apk remove those pictures!! Does removing those pictures alone will cause any problems?? If the answer is yes I ll replace those images with my own images!!
So now regarding extracting :
Does extracting by zip & repacking again with zip & changing name as .apk is enough or do I want to extract using apk extractor/manager found in this forum (forgot its name) & repack & sign it with the same??
Regarding .odex file :
I have a rough idea about odex & deodexed files!! Stock application is usually odexed!!
Now my doubt is what I have to do with the .Odex file near the music??
Help me out soon
Sorry for my bad English & unframed question!! Cz am posting via mobile!!

Don't ever remove stuff, depending on how they are loaded / how well coded the app is, it will most likely cause null pointers and so force close.
If you mod an apk, replace stuff but don't remove or rename.
P.S. you could deodex the app, to make your life simpler, but deodexing is no simple task for system apps if you are not familiar with the process.
Maybe the solution, if you want to mod, is to get a deodexed rom and mod away.

Am new to Android just a week old, but am not a total noob i had molded roms in Symbian!!
So please send me links or tutorials about
How to deodex & other important things about droid!!

I can request any1 to mod for me but I really like modding it on my own, i like droid more than Symbian now!! & even am not using iPad properly after buying s2!!
Coming to point, is musicplayer.apk is system app like touchwiz. Apk & framework-research. Apk??
Update:
If i wanna edit musicplayer.apk what to do with its ODEX file ?!!

Frameworks are not applications. But yeah, Musicplayer.apk is an application apk.
As for the Odex file... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Odex+file
messed up my music player cant able to install stock back too !! please help me !!
i need to replace default album art with this png's !! for 400x400 i need that thumb_00.png !! please help me !!
also please teach me how to modify/edit/customise/repack/sign apk's !!!
1) Reflash your current rom (look for stock roms topic in Original Android Development forum)
2) ALWAYS do a backup of your files before messing with them, especially when you don't know how to recover them -.-'
3) Asked like this, nobody will do that for you. Moreover, that's iTunes, and we, as loyal Android users, won't take any of these into our droids.
4) To modify/edit/repack/sign APK, there's Google for that. It has tons of resources if you only take a second to type in your search, and one other to look at the links.

If you don't know what a .sh is, then you shouldn't be doing what you're trying to do.

I don't know but you want to use a framework-res.apk from a Samsung Note? You do understand not only that framework-res.apk is for another device, its for a modded framework of a rom for another device. Unless you want to crack open the apk and look at the code/images but even the images wouldn't work I think. Update.zip won't help you, needs to be properly ported.
Cheers

[REQUEST] Smaller Navbar

Anyone know of a working smaller navbar mod (not using xposed) that works on MHC19I ? or able to point me in the direction of guide that allows me to attempt to make one myself ?
Looking to stay stock+rooted, rather than a custom rom.
TIA
EDIT - I've modified framework-res.apk for MHC19I - Grab it here. Mod changes navbar to 24 instead of 48 height.
* Backup your original /system/framework-res.apk and replace it with the download.
I'd recommend to flash resurrection remix rom where you can set the navbar to 24dp.

So I've decompiled and made the edit, recompiled and signed the apk, pushed it to my device and replaced the original.. but now it just sits on the bootup logo animination and I cant get past that stage.
Hopefully you have a backup that you can restore. If not, push the stock framework via adb
