[Q] Root for Nexus 4 on 4.2.2 (Easiest Way)? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I've rooted a couple of devices before (G2X, Galaxy S2, Optimus S). However, this is my first Nexus device. I'm really loving this phone and want to use it to its full potential. I'm been researching alot on how to root it but I keep seeing numerous ways and different advice. I know I have to unlock the bootloader first then install drivers. However, I've NEVER unlocked a bootloader before and I keep getting errors with installing drivers.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to get flamed for asking this (Which is fine, to each his own), but would somebody please give me an easy straight forward way to root this phone? I would greatly appreciate it. So far the videos on youtube dont actually show you how its done (they only show clips of the process already done). I'm currently on stock 4.2.2 version.

Definitely the easiest way. Took me like 2 minutes

Check my signature. Only right way of doing it while learning a bunch of useful stuff.

If you use a toolkit, you learn NOTHING. Don't fall into that trap.

Nope not the. 06
Could someone upload the stock SystemUI.apk for me from the FE? Seem to have lost my original copy. =P No need for the .odex.
You can just move it to your sd card with es file explorer or root explorer from the market if you're not familiar with adb. It will be /system/app/SystemUI.apk.
Thanks!

Its just the apk from system/app

Completely stock right?
And thank you, just what I needed.
****, sorry to be a pain, but when you get a chance could you do framework-res for me too?
I dumped the system and started changing a few things around and apparently those two I pulled and didn't copy.
Last one I promise, and I'll raise that thanks counter 1 more.

Each person has their own opinion, but I would recommend you try pershoot's CM10 builds.
Agreed. Tho, im behind sched Seeing how the last build was november, i just flashed the most recent (and last) cm10 rom and everything went smooooth. I havent noticed a bug yet and its super fast and it looks amazing. Make sure if u flash this rom you flash the google apps too so you can get the play store.

Sounds like you are using an old cm10 release as both cameras have been working in cm10 for a while now.
I'd suggest getting the latest nightly from download.cyanogenmod.org.
These latest releases also have the joys of OTA updates under settings -> about tablet - which makes future updates much easier
