(Bounty) Porting Nexus Q software to work on any android - Android Software Development

Hey, so I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778012 and I thought it was such a shame the project was closed down. I think it would be great if someone could attempt this again! This way in theory, A person could connect their android tablet or phone to a tv or speaker system, and from another android device use there google music que to stream to that device. It woul also give a great way to bring life to old devices.
I'm going to start a bounty by saying I'll add $15
To get the apk's, just unzip the files from this factory image http://d-h.st/yeo
I'm also going to attempt, while working on my nexus 7, any suggestions would be great since I am far from a developer!
UPDATE 1 March 3/2013 Okay, for anyone else who would like to help out, I just found this Nexus Q Rom http://d-h.st/JCy It is based on IAN67K and deodexed, and has thing slike nova in it. The main use for it would be that it is a deodexed rom. Hope it helps someone! If you want to read about the rom you can check it out here http://rootzwiki.com/topic/35778-rom-nexus-quantum-singularity-project-phase-1-4-v102/
So another update, I've atttatched HubBroker.apk that can be installed as a normal apk, and will give your device the nexus Q setup screen. Don't open after install, hit the home button and then select broker.

A Screenshot of it on my One X so far, I can post one later of it connected with MHL

This sounds pretty interesting. Can I lend a hand?

Be my guest, I haven't made much progress! And it would be awesome if you could post any progress you make and problems you run into and then maybe someone else will know a solution so it can be a community effort

So the current problem is that it cannot be picked uoby a different device running the nexis q app. My theory, along with the previous attempt of this project was that we need to change the Bluetooth id of the device running hubbroker. When running it and going into the normal Bluetooth settings it renames the device as the nexus q

I have 2 devices with NFC. If I have broker open and beam it to the other it asks me what room the Q is located in. But then it just says connecting forever.

Do you notice that 20% of the questions about Nexus repeat 80% of the time?

It's getting kinda annoying to answer the same questions all over again.
To avoid that, I've made FAQ section in Wiki, in which all the super-popular questions like "Can anyone port Copy-Paste / widgets / things from Sense", "Why do I get blank screen after flashing custom recovery", "Running out of space", are answered.
If anyone can format it better, correct/add something, etc - you're welcome, you know, it's Wiki, collaboration tool
So if you feel like you're answering the same question for the 5th time - maybe it's a good idea to put it into the FAQ.
This will surely help, but you have to accept that some people just don't read FAQ's or use the search function, because:
1) They are lazy
2) If they knew that it's a frequently asked question, they probably shouldn't have asked it.
3) They want a personalized answer.
Of course I've been on forums way too long to hope that things will be that easy.
I've meant to accomplish something else with this FAQ - The answer "Read Q7 in the FAQ" is much shorter than writing the actual answer.
Great idea Jack!
I was just thinking about doing something similar. I was thinking more of a troubleshooting guide, but trying to serve the same purpose...

Whats this white thing on the bottom of the nexus one? It's right under the four buttons and right above the usb port.

Thinking about this thread
Find out root, If I do post it in the Dev section.
Find CWM, If I do post it in the Dev section.
Start up my [REF] tonight and get it stickied.
Post a system dump of /system and upload it via FTP and post it.
Drag all my files from my gs2 to my gs3 (Titainum backups etc) and then look for root, and then (if found) restore my backups lol, then actually use it lol
Charge it to 100 before turning it on : )

[Q] How did you name your Nexus 7?

I have been thinking about re-naming my Nexus 7 ( Bluetooth, Play & PC) but I have really no idea what to name it..
I was hoping I could get some inspiration here
So what did you name your Nexus 7 on:
Play Store
Bluetooth
PC?
Screenshots included to further show what I mean.

Have you tried stopping the process and see what happens? It would seem that maybe something you downloaded or installed is either being polled or is polling using the daemon process. Obviously related to the camera or camera driver.
Or maybe you just left your stock camera app running. Check and see what applications you have running and see if any of them are related to the camera.
It stopped after an hour but now my phone is getting pretty hot
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
have you rebooted to see if the process restarts?
Yea I dont think its on anymore because the time has said 59 mins for a while
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
I'm going to throw a wild guess out there but you downloaded airdroid and reality piano both of which actively use the camera for whatever task they may have so its most likely one of the two.
Reboot your phone, start one of the apps and see if the process starts?
If its reality piano then you're sort of SOL because its main purpose is using the camera
If its airdroid try and disable the process, might stop a few features but the rest should be ok.

The fix only applies to Nexus devices when they get the 4.4.3 update. Each phone manufacturer (or whoever is responsible for updating their firmware) must implement a fix for the bug on their own. Google updates the Nexus devices directly (or supposedly). So Samsung would have to include a fix for specific Samsung phones.

ther say, that the port to nexus tablet takes only one Day
not anymore with the new version unfortunately. even with the n9 and n950 it needs lots of work to be done for a proper port. you can read more about it at maemo.org.
