No
No, even if there was no hardware limitation, it still requires sense framework, which is missing on aosp / sense / aokp

Damn I literally was blown away by those feature. Although I was an HTC user for many years... Don't think I will go back using HTC again.

I have used Vibrant and IMHO its a piece of crap compared to Nexus but i was using stock rom .Nexus S is much better IMHO.There are so many roms that you can flash..Vibrant was really slow and touchwhiz sucked.

Vibrant better than Nexus...you are probaly the 1st to say that...lolz
This phone is awesome
I've had so many phones, just sold my HTC Raider LTE and bought this thing not knowing what it was like. The only thing I miss is HD video recording and the camera. Otherwise for a phone that isn't dual core, this puppy is fantastic. I unlocked the boot loader and rooted last night and things just got even better. I don't regret my decision 4 days in.

I love this phone too!
I've had this phone for 4 months now and let me just say that because of the devs here, my nexus s has been such an amazing device. It's pretty cool what this "old" phone can do with all the different ROM and kernel combinations available. I've gotten so much outta this guy it just blew my mind.
I've recently switched to a galaxy nexus but I just really wanted to say thanks and this seemed like an appropriate place to do it.
Thanks to awesome devs here can our lovely Nexus S easily beat lots of new smartphones with bazillion cores and tons of RAM.
Yes me too am still loving my NS that I bought at Xmas.
I'm not really interested in any other phone for the foreseeable future. I was looking at the Galaxy Nexus and thinking of purchasing one this Xmas if they drop really low, but I find the size of the NS absolutely perfect.
At the moment I'm very happy. Best phone I've ever bought.

I have an Infuse with a 4.5 and it looks small in comparison, of course I have been using a Nook Color for a tab so I knew what I getting into with the 7". Using the keyboard in landscape mode is great!!!!!
As somebody who owns a GS3 I feel it was totally worth the buy. I primarily use my phone when I'm on the go. When I get home it is all Nexus 7 for me. The bigger screen makes it much easier to browse the internet with.

I was wondering the same thing. I have my GS3 running AOKP, which I love...but this tablet looked perfect. I have a 10" HP, which was a bit too big to be comfortable in bed and typing on it sucked. This tablet is perfect for me...and I just flashed AOKP!! Bought it today so I am still in love with it. I didn't think I was going to keep it...but I was very wrong. Go for it bro!!
Just in case you do need further reassurance, I also have a sgs3 as well as a Nexus 7. My phone is for on the go, and my tablet is more for gaming like asphalt 7 and such.

I don't get it, when we have an HTC or Samsung phone, we go to great measures to remove the stock Ui and only dream to have a pure android experience on it.
This is exactly what we have here. A pure android experience. Not sure what you're looking for when you look for a custom rom on the N7?

Multitasking is made possible due to modification in touchwiz framework as well as changes to 10-12 apps that support it like browser.
TW framework hogs lots of resources. Even Note2 lags far far more than Nexus.

Purchase a Note 2 or SGS3 if you want those features. Those features are only for TouchWiz roms, tied with the frameworks and such. Closed drivers for the camera and what not so no this will not happen.

Source code is written in 1 or more programming languages. After it goes through a compiler it is horribly difficult to reverse engineer. Actually, horribly difficult doesn't sound hard enough.

i do... abit for the Z
The Nexus 4 is the perfect phone for me, no doubt about it.
However, being the tech geek that I am there is no doubt in my mind I will grab the Nexus 5 about 6 months after it's released (I don't want to deal with launch-day drama and hardware issues which always seem to plague the initial Nexus releases)
I can say, however, that I will only be buying Nexus phones from now on since they have finally stepped up to the plate with decent hardware and specs. The Gnex was a massive disappointment to me, I sold it within four months of owning it.
Same for me. I had the one x for the last year but it has started giving me trouble by not recognizing the Sim card was in the slot.
I was torn between the nexus 4. HTC one and the galaxy s4.
After much deliberation I went with the nexus 4 and I'm so glad I did.
I owned the nexus one before so I am already accustomed to the nexus experience.
I honestly didn't expect the 4 to be so much better than the one x. Snappier. Better gaming performance and longer battery life.
I'm so glad I switched

there are always optimizations that can make thing a little better. most of the optimizations(like dalvik) on nexus phones would be propritary. plus the cpu is a more recent revision(among other things).

I agree. Android should be optimised for the Nexus range ONLY, like Apple do with iOS. Only then will it ever be a perfectly smooth experience.
If other companies wanna put out 15 Android phones a year, then they should do their own optimisations to ensure it runs properly.

They do do their own optimizations... they optimize their Android manufacturer skins (TouchWiz, HTC Sense, etc)
It may feel faster but that's only cos of the transitions HTC have added in, they have minimised many that are in stock android and sped up a few as well, thus overall giving the illusion that it runs faster :L
