L7 keyboard lag - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, do you have this problem too? I've already tried SwiftKey, SmartKeyboardPro, JellyBean Keyboard Pro, etc, and with everyone of them I get lots of lag...
My girlfriend has a Huawei G300 and SwiftKey works flawlessly. A friend of mine has a Huawei U8510, and SwiftKey also works with no problems, and my L7 is far better than his phone.
Is there a fix for this?
I've V10i rooted, with v6 supercharger and seeder.
Thanks for your help, I send lots of sms, and this is a huge problem for me :s

ok from my experience, using the stock kb i've got some lags using the stock firmware. switch to swype, still the same.
I installed simpleblue from snx w/c is using the ics keyboard. still a little bit of lag. so i decided to install swype, w/ a little bit of
lag but i can bear w/ it.
So maybe the problem here is our stock rom w/c is not really good.
So it's up to you w/c keyboard you use right now and bear with it until we get cm9 or cm10. Maybe w/ that rom we can achive the best for
our phone.

Odp: L7 keyboard lag
Ok i got it. The problem is in stock launcher and stock keyboard. Now i have the Nova Launcher and the A.I.Type keyboard and totally no lags. Try it.
I think that stock launcher is just very bad and every custom is better.

Your right about it, thanks for the suggestion. But right now I'm using the simple blue rom with adw launcher and swype kb, I'm happy with this setup.
We just hope that markolino can finish the cm9 that his building right.

I'm using Nova Launcher Prime and SwiftKey 4, and I get a little bit of lag.

Odp: L7 keyboard lag
Now u can only wait 4 the CM (9/10) or 4 the official jelly bean rom from LG. There is no more what can we do cause the L7 has lowend hardware that is to weak 4 the ICS.
I have an another advice for u. Use your file manager (like total commander etc. of course u need root) and delete all stock alarms&ringtones. I dont remember for sure but propably its something like /system/media/... Then of course u can use titanium backup and delete all apps u dont need. Your phone will get massive boost.

I think you have too many application installed.and our ram has a lot of work.

[Q] CM6 Keyboards?

Is there any keyboard that will actually work, that i can calibrate and it wont freeze when im typing fast.
I put HTC_IME mod keyboard and it was alright until it froze constantly, swype requires me to look at the screen and the " android keyboard" is simply horrible.
can anyone link me to a keyboard similar to 2.1 that actually works for CM6?
Thank you

Smart Keyboard (Pro Version) is the best I've found so far. Try the free version and upgrade if you like it to get T9 capability. Can you post the apk file for that HTC_IME mod? I'd like to try that out!
@ Puffdaddy_d ; i'd be glad to if i still have it in my sd
And thanks ill try it, where can i get it ? ( too lazy to search or anything haha )
edit: nevermind found it in market

I wonder if that HTC keyboard mod is really designed for the CDMA hero running froyo? It FC's the moment I try to load it. That sounds more like a complete incompatibility issue rather than being just "buggy". Do you know where you got it from?
My friend has database filled with apps and he put it on my phone via adb, it works just buggy actually.

Just tried installing this using an install manager instead of adb push and it's working flawlessly so far! I've got my HTC Keyboard BACK!!!
Too bad I can't get my $4 back from the market...

try SwiftKey Beta, it's free and actually works on CM6 (I'm using it now!)

Interesting Question regarding Launcher Pro and Stock Launcher

After playing around with launcher Pro, i realised that the app drawer is quite laggy.
Funny thing is when i switch to the stock mode the app drawer is nice a smoood (yes Smoood lol)
Is anyone else having a similar issue ?
Hope this make sense as it seems like broken english to me ahahah
Running Froyo, Rooted, OCLF, Launcher Pro of course..
Started being laggy for me after froyo upgrade, using zeam at the minute with no lag at all.

whats Zeam mate ?
It is a launcher similar to launcher pro but free, very lightweight it is on the market i think there is a thread on here about it aswell. I can recommend it pal.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
cheers bud , ill give it a try.
Had a play and I love its simplicity, but would live a few extras, as mentioned already.
Still some glitches, but not as much as lp. But lp, might take centre stage when its re-write is complete.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
after installing Froyo i also had a laggy Launcherpro.
i did a factory reset today. reinstalled everything and LP seems to work way better
( so is froyo btw )

I know what you mean, like you I am waiting for the re-write, I just felt LP got a bit heavy, and seemed even heavier now I'm on froyo.

I did that when I installed froyo, complete wipe of everything, I am a big believer in that but the problem still arose. Might re-flash again if another build comes out and see where it gets me.
Yeah launcherpro has been slow since froyo, I'm using ADW cause of that
Cool, I'm not alone then. Might give lp a rest till the new version comes, built for froyo. Using zeam as recommended. Kinda love it more than lp atm.

Do not install the version v0.8.1.0
The v. 8.0.0 is smoother
I actually uninstalled ADW and replaced it with launcher pro because ADW became laggy after the last update. I tried both again after upgrading to Froyo and didn't come to a different conclusion. It's too bad because I really liked ADW a lot before the last update ruined it. Sticking with launcher pro for now. Touchwiz also has lag in 2.2, similar to ADW but I have long lost faith in anything Samsung software related.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Zeam looks good but no extra widgets like in launcher pro... Can't make do without a friends stream widget. And why can't we use Samsung widgets in any of these launchers ?

Obviously because they were made by Samsung. They can't make their software compatible with their hardware so we can't expect their software to be compatible with other software

Apart from that they made it slow, nothing much is different as far as I can tell. A couple of changes to their widgets but you wouldn't care about that anyway if you hadn't shelled out the 3 bucks for the plus version.
Haha yeah. And now I've sampled and tailored zeam to my needs, I have no use for lp lol. Google should extend refund periods lol.

[Q] Inaccurate keyboard

Hi guys, great forum with some great tips.
Just got my xperia play and love it to bits.
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I find the keyboard very inaccurate and slow to respond.
When I compare it to my previous Iphone and HTC desire it seems poor.
Any suggestions for tweeking or any options for downloading another keyboard.
Thanks in advance
Chris
Swype
Takes a bit of getting used to swyping but you can also just use it normally to type and its much more accurate than the stock keyboard
im having the same issues , i tried gingerbread keyboard lite which was much more accurate but i was a constant running process in the backgroung using around 30mb , i wish there was a way to edit the stock xperia play keyboard i.e button size height and load a custom user dictionary, yes there are other keyboards like smart, better or swype but really sony should update / fix the stock one.
anyone know if once youve installed a 3rd party keyboard can you safely remove the stock one if rooted and not encounter any problems ?.......
SwiftKey is better to use then the stock keyboard. It just takes a bit of time to get use to.

I remember it was all the rage when the X10 was released but I haven't been annoyed with the stock keyboard (yet) to give it a try.

I personally hate the htc keyboard..I always used alternate keyboards when I had my HTC.
I use swiftkey, while a tad too busy for my taste, it works damn well once you set it up to your liking. The arrow keys make me not miss my trackpad, and the numberpad-style number page is awesome.
I started using one of the Iphone keyboards.
Find it much better though still not as good as my Iphone.

Best alternative keyboard for X10

Hello fellas, I was wondering if I could get some feedback based on people's experience on which could be the best alternative keyboard for an x10?
I'm using the default one with wolfbreak 6.0s and it is laggy for ne most of the time.
All suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks in advance!

I use Swype Beta... And its working pretty well... The only thing, is when it is your first time using it, you are going to find it a bit difficult... But when you get used to it, you are going to type fast...
Ahhh I found out why the keyb was lagging! I just tried removing prediction and autocorrects and now this is blazing fast!
But anyway, I would like to try something new just to see how's better!

[Q] Laggy ICS HD2

Hey XDA!,
I have tried a couple of NAND ICS roms on my HD2. The nexus HD2 by tytung and icecreamtosti. Plus i think i tried one with dorimanx kernel. Anyways, all the roms seem to lag on my fone. They work fine but as compared to the gingerbread roms, they are not smooth or as fast. They seem to be a bit slow. I flashed the correct partition sizes and later even partitions that were 10 or 15mb greater than required to allow for bad NAND blocks.
Anything else i can do to make these roms equally as smooth as the gingerbread roms or do i have to wait for furthur develpment?
Thanks,
Adil
Which version do you use ?

The launchers are for some reason laggy. Try GO Launcher, Launcher Pro or ADW (any launcher not based on ICS basically) and they're buttery smooth (much faster than GB). I've found messaging, contacts, dialer and browser to me much faster than CM7 and pretty much the only app I would consider to be slow is the Music app. The phone also lags hugely whilst playing music.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have Nova and Apex also installed (as well as Trebuchet) and I keep hoping that in the next update I see the launcher won't lag, but sadly it always does. Still, GO Launcher is actually the most functional launcher I've found, even if it eats a fair amount of RAM.

I used that theme on CM7 but it really doesn't give a full ICS interface without the 'card stack' transitions, and really that's all I wanted. The app drawer is really very good on ICS, but unfortunately none of the non-ICS launchers seem to be able to mimick that. I personally prefer the GO Launcher symbols on the dock though, seem more polished for some reason
