[Q] Constant random touches when useing micro usb port - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Whenever i connect my N7 through it's mico usb port for charging or to my computer or use a usb device with an otg cable , i am unable to use the touch screen for anything . Any touch results in multiple touches all about in a broad vertical line touching and dragging across the screen (Verified using show touch in developers option) . Is there any way to fix this and any idea what causes it.
I tried stock rom and stock kernel, custom roms and kernels, wiping everything but nothing works.
Plz help And Thanks
Currently Smoothrom 4.4 and Motley Kernel.

[Q] Micro USB port not working

hello,
mi micro USB is not working propperly right now, for some reason it doesn´t charges correctly, it seems a little... "loose"... im currentl running CM 9 2012/05/26
and when it plugg it in the computer and manage it to start charging, it wont allow me to acces it as a mass storage device, in fact the computer wouldn´t recognize it at all!, any help!?
try another cable, or connecting it to other port after rebooting (usb musnt be connected)
Swyped off my Amazing Defy using ICS
happened with me too, got its motherboard replaced
crap... I`m rooted... so no warranty...
maybe in some repair shop of cellphones the will be able to replace it?
but.. did yours charged at all?
bacause mine does charges when appropietly connected... its just that sometimes it wont nad it will not allow me to get to the mass storage...
If your phone just charge but can't access to masive storage, look in the device manager , if you have a MTP device, your micro ubs port is fine, just try to install some stock rom.
it´s just that some times it doesn´t charges and I need to slowly start trying to adjust the micro USB port so it can charge... that´s why I say that it seems to be a little loose...
As well it will only charge when plugged into my XboX 360 or the computer (and some other devices) but not when plugged into the Stock charger... :S

USB not working for flash
Hi everyone, I came with a similar issue.
The massive storage USB connection is not working for me, plus I can't flash a stock rom,
Currently I'm in MIUI for defy (and it's the only option I am able to install), I tried to wipe data cache to install cyanogenmod 7 from recovery but it's not working, it get stuck in the boot logo. I want to install cyanogenmod because it is fast than MIUI jelly bean.
My idea is to flash the device, but with the usb not working Im stuck,
any ideas to solve this? or should i go to have the usb repaired?

If after a boot in bootloader (power+vol-up) and connecting to PC via usb cable nothing appear onto PC display 3 possibilities exist.
1. Usb cable is broken.
2. Pc have no usb driver foryour device (but even in this case a error message appear)
3. Usb connector or circuitry fron Defy is broken.
Search.

Yes, is OK your method but is a little dangerous if you not cover the cleaned pins with some resin. More safe is to use a toothbrush soaked in isopropyl alcohol or 98% ethylalcohol to clean the soldered pins.

[Q] USB mouse cursor not appeared on screen with otg cable

Hi everybody,
When I connect different usb mouse with my OTG cable, I'm able to scroll in any app, launch an app with click button but I have an issue: there is no cursor on the screen . I've tested different mouse, same issue...
There is my configuration: ROM: PurifieD AOSP light version v1.1 (I9505XXUDMH8)
Kernel: Faux v12 MGA
All USB objects works perfectly but I've only the issue with the cursor of my mouse :/.
Thanks in advance for your help !
EDIT: I've tested with cm and I've a cursor on the screen and I've tested with djembey pre rooted MH8 ROM too and I've a cursor on the screen. I think that my issue is related to the vertumus's light theme

[Q] What wouls cause USB OTG to suddenly stop working?

I'm not really sure what happened but ever since KitKat, my usb otg wires wouldn't work as consistently as before. I chalked it up to having a cheap wire so I didn't mind it. Then I saw the app called OTG Troubleshooter and it tells me the problem is "No USB Device Detected in Linux". How did that happen when I assume all custom kernels and roms support usb otg.
I'm on Carbon ROM with F2FS and mkernel btw...

usb port, charge only... cloudy g3 rom

Perhaps my port has gone bad. Nothing works, otg , computer connection through mtp. It will charge though, whether connected to computer usb or charger. Only reason I have even noticed this , is a want to flash original software from lg tool. Anyone got any ideas? Or do I need a new usb board? I'm on cloudy 2.0. Oh btw, I tried to mount from twrp and nothing happens. Says unable to mount otg device. I assume that rules out it being a rom problem? I've tried two different otg devices, and three different cables to my computer. I'm beginning to think it's hardware issue. But before I go through all that figured I would see if anyone else has any ideas?
I'm having this same problem. I first noticed it when I installed cloudy-g3 on my lg g2. The problem persists even when I switch to other roms I have installed with MultiROM. Without the ability to detect/access via usb/adb my phone is semi-bricked, without the ability to revert to stock via kdz because usb connection isn't detected.

(Q) Nexus 4 OTG

Good day everyone, I would like to ask why my phone does not support OTG. I need your suggestions.
First my nexus 4 runs on Paranoid Android Rom v5.1 with quanta kernel v18. I also made my own otg y cable by connecting the red and black wires. I tried to use otg but my phone does not connect to my flash drive. When I connect it, the phone charges and the flash drive blinks its led light so it means that my wiring is Ok. What could be the problem?
You need to use Stickmount.
