For some reason can't get the phone off silent. When someone rings it shows the call and vibrates but no ring tone despite a ring tone being chosen and the ring tone volume turned up. Also can't change the text notification sound in messaging settings. Anyone else having either of these problems?

After upgrading to JPO I'm experiencing some weird issues with my ring tones. Sms notifications don't work (no sound) and the phone won't accept custom ring tones. Although the correct tone is being shown in the selection screen it's playing some weird tunes...

Just got a factory replacement g2 and my ringer is acting really funny... Rings some of the time and even then, will only ring once before it quits ringing (even tho it still is showing that I can answer on my screen). Sometimes it doesn't ring at all. And no, I don't have silent or vibrate mode enabled lol. Any ideas as to why this is happening?
Found it... It was an experimental setting in my "Call Control" app that would "remove partial ring". Just fyi j case anyone else runs into this

Her phone has an odd problem that when it rings the volumes goes up and down to nothing loads of times. If vibrate when ringing is turned on the problem stops
I tried the "disable increasing ring" app it still does the same
I have an odd similar problem with mine (on another post)
is the ringtone volume fading out because something is trying to go over the top (like the text to speech)
How can i fix this irregular ringing volume (the vibrate when ringing is a quick fix)
I used "my backup pro" to copy across setting for mine and her phones. Does this cause problems like this?

I have a rooted SM-G900V with 5.0. The ringtone volume for incoming calls fades up and down - LOUDquietLOUDquiet. When I select and play that ringtone, the volume is consistent. I've tried different ringtones and get the same results: varying volume. I'm using the stock phone and dialer apps.

Tthe ringer volume setting is being changed as the phone rings. If I hear the ringtone and answer when the volume happens to be down, then check the ringtone volume setting, it's almost off or even down to "vibrate only". What is going on here??

I set my ring tone to a custom sound. From time to time, the ring tone changes to a truly horrible noise. When I check it, it says it is an unrecognized ring tone. Most of the time it works fine. Anyone have an idea how to keep that from happening?

I even changed it to a "standard" ringtone. It changes every time I reboot the phone. Oddly, I checked the ringtone, it still has the standard one selected, but the sound was the truely awful Unrecognized tone. A really terrible noise, not what I want for a ring tone.
