Advice for screen protectors (both anti-glare and clear) for the Nexus 4 - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm looking for both types at a decent quality to price ratio. I'm not looking at spending 15+ bucks for 1-2 protectors. I've used DCMUGEN screen protectors from eBay on previous phones and loved them. However, I'm not able to find these for the Nexus 4. Any suggestions? I'm using a cheap one right now but it scratches really easily.

Check the accessories section. A lot of options there.
I ordered on eBay spigen ultra crystal screen protectors. You get 2 for 13.99 free shipping and no tax on eBay .

Yeah I use the spiegen ones and they are pretty good. Main thing is that they do not cover the sensors and the screen responds to touch as normal - at the same time protecting your screen

Do you have scratches on your Corning glass

I am debating whether to use a screen protector....
No, not a single one. And I use my N7 on a daily basis (since mid July) without a screen protector.
Just get good cover for the N7 (LuvTab, Poetic, etc.) and you'll be perfectly fine.
No, but I am pretty careful with it. My phone has gorilla glass and I have a scratch on that. It aint scratch proof.
Some fine scratches that are only noticeable when the screen is off and at an angle, so nothing to worry about too much. I refuse to use protection

Had a screen protector on, looked terrible. Now I'm using it naked, but with a pouch.
No scratches yet,it's been several weeks.
I don't know but I actually prefer the look of my screen with a matte SP on. I also love the feel and the lack of fingerprints. My N7 was stolen yesterday and I bought a new one. I had a SGP Matte Ultra Fine protector on it and it is sorely missed after using the stock glass.
The fingerprints are the worst and I hate how after playing a game with a D-pad for a few, the area under your thumb starts to get tacky and hard to slide. I'm having to constantly wipe it down. I'm putting another one on there ASAP.

The glass material of the screen seems to be reliable.
My N7 previously has a AG screen-protector, but then I removed it So far there are no scratches, but probably because it is protected by a case with smart cover.
If being afraid of any scratches that N7 may have, I would suggest an AR screen-protector. Try it.
No scratches on mine. It was also over a full month before I purchased a case.
What can you do to get rid of scratches if you get them or can you?

atFolix Fx clear screen protector .
Dry and have a great feel. covers the whole back and front
All wet screen protectors like zaagg or xtreme guard have the same problem.
They reduce the touch response due to rubberry feel. And they get dirty very quickly

Bit late now I know but I always go for Spigen screen protectors, used one on my GS3 for months and it was fantastic. Not a mark on it.
I got these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00A0721CS/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1362436750&sr=8-1&pi=SL75
Cheap & resilient. They have a matte finish which takes a little getting used to, but I've got to like it over the last while (well I've kept them on anyway!)
Quick delivery from Germany to Ireland (anywhere in the EU I guess)

Cheap and cheerful, does the job. Fit is fine. Doesnt cover the full screen, upto the point where the screen slants. And doesnt have cutouts for the proximity sensor. But it fits fine, hasnt fallen off yet (had it on a week now) and for the price I cant complain. Its matte and stops finger prints/grease which is what I wanted.
I'd go for the Zagg Invisible Shield.. They have been by far the best screen protectors I have used on my phones in recent years. With a lifetime Warranty and excellent customer service. Yeah its £15 and maybe a couple £ for shipping but in my experience I (touch wood) have never had any issue with them!

Smashed screen question

Hey all, I convinced a friend to get the nexus 4 and she had it for about a month before it fell/got ran over from a golf cart and now the screen is smashed and of course no touch input activity. The phone will still power on, receive calls/text and otherwise seems undamaged. My question is, do I suggest to her to sell it as is to some willing person as a fixer upper or do I order a new screen and fix it for her? Costs are the topic she is wondering. Like I say, phone works, no cosmetic damage besides the screen, and the back glass is fully intact.
Any help is always appreciated!
TIA

Do you have any experience with repairing a screen? If not it might just be better to buy another Nexus off of Craigslist and possibly sell this one for around $50-$80. The least you'll probably find another Nexus 4 on Craigslist for is $150. I paid $200 for mine (16gb in mint condition) off of Craigslist 2 months ago

Buy a screen assembly (includes both LCD and digitizer) for the Nexus 4 on ebay and use a T5 torque screwdriver to open the phone. It's not very difficult of a process.
Lcd assembly are $140 shipped OEM on eBay. U also need the tools

Thanks guys,
Yes, I've repaired other screens before so I'm not worried about that process. Thanks for all the help, decision time.

Nexus 4 are pretty easy to take apart. Just watch out for the ribbon cables

[Q] Case: protective, not bulky, shows N4 back

Does it exist?
I've read a lot of posts, searched a lot of cases, but no one seems to be that good, a lot of bad reviews of the users, most add too much bulky, like the bumpers...
I'm almost giving up about buying a case and use the Nexus naked. Maybe just a anti-glare screen protector or maybe not.
What do you think?
Thanks!
ummmm... have you ever heard about the.. wait for it....wait for it.. Ringke Fusion
Thanks for your reply.
Yes I heard about this one. But I read comments that it adds too much bulky to the phone and the clear back get a lot of smudge, loses its purpose.
Even then I still considering this case, seems to be the less worse available.

Just go naked. I have tried the bumper, and it's quite bulky. There just isn't any case that catches my eye for the Nexus 4. Damn those iphone and sammy users...
Seems like there wont be a case to please you. Id go with his suggestion^^. Not many options out there for the n4
using Ringke and yea, it's less bulky from all the other 3 or 4 cases I bought..

Do what I do, use a bumper and xtremeguard screen protector for the front and back. You can use tempered glass screen protector for the front for better protection too.

Using naked, thanks you all

Need some protection help

Im trying to see if any1 had any luck with a glass screen protector and a case
I've looked on eBay and have seen some, it would be nice if invisible shield would just make one already. I have the regular invisible shield on right now and the corners bubble.

Check out Seidio cases. I have one and it's great.

I bought a spigen case on ebay for $10 and I love it. The screen does not touch the surface. As for the (tempured) screen protector, no luck with out dishing out around 30-50 and who knows of they are any good. I bought a $15 one on ebay and returned it. I'm going to wait till a reputable protector comes out.
