Cheap NOOK HD+ for UK Buyers Only. 16GB model for £120. Or 32GB £145. RRP £229/269 - Nook HD, HD+ General

Lots of people are trading in nook hd+ tablets into CEX sealed or hardly used as they are so restricted.
However if you install a custom cm10 rom like the ones here you are getting a really cheap tablet with really good hardware for the price.
The grade A models mean it is in Mint condition with box and all accessories. Basically as new. Most of these items will have had very little use and be unwanted presents.
You also get 1 year warranty as well.
16GB is £120 - http://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SEREBARBNHD16GBA
32GB is £145 - http://uk.webuy.com/product.php?sku=SEREBARBNHD32GBA
Saving of over £100 off the RRP and same condition
Good deal for people wanting a cheap full hd 9" tablet

Thanks, I saw that the HD was selling cheap too (for some reason, the 16 and 8GB models are the same price). It's pushed me over the edge and I've gone for the HD over the Nexus 7.
I suppose their loss is our gain.

Not bad, it should be like new. For most of the people who have sold them to cex it seems to be unwanted presents so most are new.
Grade A is mint condition anyway with all items and box
The Nook HD+ are selling fast, only the 32gb model is left online now. Others are still instore though

Just got my galaxy note 10.1 from Amazon Warehouse Deals. Used - Like New condition. Box was a bit ugly, but note itself was still in original plastic wrappings. Saved about $80 off list price.

I took the same route with the Amazon Warehouse deal. The box looked worn but the tablet inside was either new or never had the plastic taken off of it (oh so much plastic). I bought the 16gb model for $422 (I missed the $450 sale price on a new one by one day).

Yeah its good price.
Damn, these are some extremely cheap prices! I purchased a Nook HD (16GB) for £160, and a Nook HD+ for £270 from Blackwells.
Will definitely take a look at these deals; I'll also take a look if there are any in stores. They probably think they're worthless since there is no Google Play installed by default.

Yeah its because the stock software is so restricted that no one wants them and so the selling price is really low.

UK pricing - going up, not down!

Normally a few months after the initial surge of interest in a product dies down, the price tends to drop a little. However for some reason the Note 10.1 2014 seems to be going up if anything here in the UK, although in the States it does appear to be dropping.
The US price is now generally around $499 (plus tax) for the wi-fi model, while the UK price has gone up from under £400 a few months ago (£365 at John Lewis I gather) to nearer £450 most places.
Does anyone know what's going on, have Samsung UK increased their suggested price or something?

When I saw the UK prices, it really baulked me.
I wanted a tablet that not only worked on Wi-Fi, but 3G, 4G/LTE, but I couldn't get one, especially a 32Gb model, which I consider to be the basement model (I wouldn't even consider a 16Gb).
I nearly paid the extra for an Ipad, however I decided to do more research and in the end I imported one from HK and even when I paid the VAT on it, it came in significantly cheaper than some of the prices of the 16Gb, Wi-Fi model.
It's worth doing a little extra research and importing it yourself and get a better specified machine, at a lower price.
I could pick one up in the States next time I'm over there, but I'm a little wary of not having a proper international warranty as that caught me out once (thanks Samsung, so much for global corporations!).
16GB actually doesn't worry me as long as it has an SD card slot, much cheaper to put 64GB onto it that way than pay for a bigger base model. Well, upcoming stock KitKat stupidities notwithstanding anyway, but that won't be hard to fix.

Why buy a 16Gb one? You can get the 32Gb version quite easily over there, but the currency conversion made it more expensive to buy it from the US, also I used PayPal to pay for it, so I had a bit of protection too.
My SM-P605 has a 64Gb card in and I'm already running low on memory, so I only hope that the new SanDisk 128Gb card comes out soon at a reasonable price.
I think a few places had them on offer just before and after christmas. Got mine from John Lewis for £399 in mid jan, took ages to find somewhere with one in stock at that price. There were quite a few places charging (or trying to) over £500! I think about £450 was the average book price but so many places were out of stock, or were trying to sell the old one still at £399........
They want to sell the new Tab 10.1 at such a high price, that they had to raise that of the note, to keep people from going straight for a note instead.
Let's be honest. Samsung charging iPad+ prices for the Pro/Note series takes balls of steel. Android tablets are bought typically by bargain seekers unwilling to pay iPad prices and are typically 7-8" and under $250. One thing iPads have always provided was a certain cache and snob appeal; everyone knows what everyone else paid. With the Pro/Note's Samsung seems to be raising the snob appeal. With the 16GB iPad Air at 399 GBP whether Samsung prices at 375 GBP or 425 GBP it's still close enough that if people really considered a high-end Android tablet as an iPad alternative they'd still buy it. I don't think someone predisposed to an iPad would say "I'll buy the Samsung Tab|Pro because I'll save 50 GBP." How many people think a high-end Android tablet is an iPad alternative is a whole different discussion and will be proven by the success (or failure) of Samsung's strategy in offering the Pro/Note series in the first place.
The G-Tab 4 certainly is a step down in design and specs so perhaps Samsung's strategy is to make the 4's their volume seller (EG: BMW 3-series) and the Pro/Note's their margin leader (EG: BMW 7-series).
Apparently the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 will pack a 10.6″ (odd, right?) display of 1280×800 pixels resolution and will run on Snapdragon 400 chipset with a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor, Adreno 305 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM. Other revealed specs are the 3MP rear and the 1.2MP front camera, 16GB internal storage (12GB actually available) and the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. Digging into the GFX Benchmark database you can also find the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. It has absolutely the same specs but less screen estate.

And gave up your 2 year UK warranty in the process. Or you can ship it round trip to HK at your expense to have warranty repairs done there. Does Samsung UK even service grey market devices for a fee? Samsung U.S. won't. I had to ship my UK-purchased i9100 back to the UK for a cracked bezel. Caveat Emptor.
The guy I bought it from is a dealer. He will sort any warranty issues and is in the UK. I spoke to him before I bought it.

You're right I won't. It's 0x1 anyway so I'll claim off household as accidental damage if anything happens.

Got mine from HK too. Not rooted yet but soon will and once it's 0x1 the difficulty of a warranty claim becomes irrelavent.
It cost me £439 inc. import duty.
Got a bill from FedEx . Contacted the seller and he's refunded me already! What a quality seller!

Canadian Release November 21 2014

Fyi it will be available November 21, apparently a Sony store exclusive, at least in terms of brick and mortar stores. I hope Amazon or ncix etc get it too.
It's only available in white with 32gb for $529.99. Saw their system with info today.
SPECIALBM10200 gets you $10 off if ordered online. Expect better codes black Friday!
Yeah mobilesyrup mentioned it last week. I am happy its not 549, or 559 like some people though. Cheaper than what expansy is currently selling it for. Is it actually the 32gb model and not 16? currently their z2 is 529 for 16gb. If its actually 32 for that price then i will probably get it over the new nexus and the samsung tab s, as that will be a pretty good price, even if it only comes in white (I want the black >.<)

Good. With how bad our dollar is compared to the US I'm fine with 30$ more.
$530 for the 32gb is what I was thinking it would be, though still hopping it would be lower...
Now I'll have to decide if i go with this or the Nvidia Shield LTE (for 32gb)

I was strongly considering the Shield too based on the specs. However, there are too many issues and uncertainties:
- build quality and cracking even on "fixed" models
- wifi stability and signal issues
- random unresponsiveness and crashing
- black screens requiring reboot and non-responsiveness
- severe battery drain
- charging issues (ie plugged in but will not charge past a certain percent) plus it will stop charging at 100% and discharge to 0 overnight.
There are all sorts of attempts at fixes, but I believe the issues not worth the hassle, even to get one of them. It will be interesting to see if Lollipop remedies any of the issues.

Samsung S2 64 gb 9.7 with buying?

Looking for a basic tablet to run Plex and Sonos and I've been looking at the 10 in Samsung S2 64 gig. My wife had one at one time and she really liked it I liked how thin it was but not sure what a good price for one would be brand new. I found one for $300.00 USD from a reputable store brand new in box with full factory warranty.
What price would you pay for one brand new?
It depends the country I suppose , I bought it in Spain for 260€ . (It was an offer) about the tablet it works really well without any lag (I just returned a Lenovo yoga for that reason)

USA 300.00
The Galaxy Tab S2 is still a great tablet, but $300 is a bit steep at this point. It's almost 3 years old, and has been replaced by the Tab S3, which has a faster processor. I wouldn't go north of $150-$200 at this point. Also, if mine broke I'd probably replace it with an S3.
The 64GB does change things a bit, but since you get an SD card slot, not that much. I have a 32GB and have had zero storage problems. I keep video, music, books, etc on the SD card and haven't even come close to filling its internal storage with apps.

Well do remember that for $300 brand new in box 813 version with 64GB of ram and the mSD card slot. I looked at the Tab S3 which was around $450 but I just had a hard time justifying that. Hell it's hard to find a good Android tablet now a days. Seems like they're either really budget or expensive. I'd be happy to find a one around $250.

As $300 is about £225, I'd just about pay this for a brand new 813, 64GB. I'd be much more comfortable paying $180 for a used version though.

It's certainly not a terrible deal. I still use my T813 daily, and I love the thing - to the point where I don't even bother carrying a laptop these days. (I have a travel keyboard) My only point is that it's hard to shell out that much for a tablet that is essentially EOL'ed by its manufacturer.
On the other hand, I just priced the Tab S3, and even in the 32GB config, it's a pricey machine. That might definitely tip the scales towards an S2, even at $300.
