You're not really losing it, it's just that the battery reporting is poor so when you reboot it is probably "catching up" and showing you the real value.

Do you think so? But when I charge the phone it is off... And charge all night.. And when I turn on in the morning I've that problem..

..Or you could look at it this way. Rebooting takes a significant amount of power and thus it will be lost after it boots up.

Hes not rebooting or powering off the phone, from the graph it looks like he is just turning on the screen and taking it out of deepsleep/idle mode.
The screen is a HUGE battery hog and if you have high brightness you can destroy the battery quickly. What is your brightness set at OP?

Nexus 4 uses a lot of power to turn on, reboot. On top of that, battery display is not correctly informed. Should be fixed in the next update.

Media scanner? I think I had a corrupt file or something once because media scanner ran for like 2 hours after boot.

Could be something like media scanner, that's a good suggestion. Because you certainly shouldn't be losing 5 to 10% on booting.

No pics, movies, music? Mine was obvious, it was the highest battery drain in the battery use monitor.
Maybe fully charge then shut it off, unplug, and turn it back on leave it set for 5-10 minutes and check on what is eating battery. I assume you've done this put you haven't mentioned any apps of android system or anything eating battery.

I've installed gsa battery monitor...I'll try to find the problem..
Inviato dal mio Nexus 4 con Tapatalk 2

I also experimented similar strange battery behaviour last week;
I started a stress test with 35% of battery and stop it when level reached 10%. As battery level continued to drop (within 30 sec) to 7%, I checked running apps and closed everything, but after another 30sec (or 1 min) phone shut down after reaching 1%. So to summarise, I also experiment lost of 10% of battery within 1 or 2 minutes.

There's another thread from me here on the same subject. I think it's down to crap battery stats on the phone side. I placed a call with Google and they claim they've never heard of a large battery drop on boot before.
For note I charge my phone up every night when i get back home and power it off on 100% charge before going to bed. In the morning on starting up I get a battery reading of anything from 82-99%. Note tehre appears to be no difference if the phoen is left off for longer periods of time (i.e. for me weekends when i'm not getting up for work hours being a lazy sod)

R: Battery drain at boot
I didn't resolve too...and I didn't find the app...maybe the problem are kernel wakelocks

[Q] Charger got wet

Hello, My original LG wall adapter got wet, i wiped away all the water i could, and let it dry out for day.
After that I plugged my N4 into it, and my battery just jumped from 70% to 100% in a blink. I unplugged it imminently, and phone thought it was still charging for like 10 seconds, and then my battery percentage went back to 70%.
It's been a few days since this event. I'm worrying about whatever damage it might have caused.
Battery life isn't great. i get about 1.5 SOT when I hit 40%. standby time are as the used to be, but when using the phone the battery seems to drain more. (WIFI OFF WHEN NOT AT HOME ,ALL GOOGLE LOCATION SERVICES DISABLED, ON 3G 24/7)
Is there any real test to see if there is really any damage ?
I hope I'm just imagining. Maybe the charger didn't went bad at all? after all is it a known bug when nexus jumps to 100%.
The wet adapter charged my Other galaxy S2 just fine..
Here is some ridiculous screen.barely 10 minutes screen on an a short phone call and its already down 5%

5% down, in 1 hr and 15 minutes, with 10~ minutes of screen on time, and some phone calls is not really that bad imho.
You should probably get a new charger, seems like something is messed up within the charger, due to being exposed to water.
Is there any way to determine if the phone itself received damage ? I's there any chance at all ?
Only the plastic of the charger was exposed to water ..
anyway I'm using apple Iphone adapter since then.
I think the best way to tell if it received any damage is to just use it normally.
Charge it normally, through the iphone adapter for now, and see if the problem re-occurs.
I do notice battery drains quicker , My friend's nexus, which was from an older batch, drained 2% after 10 mins in google chrome, auto brightness.
mine drains 8% , same brightness, no application running in background. betterbatterystats shows nothing unusual.
Is this normal? Totally Moderate use.

WiFi eating battery on Note 3

Hey everyone,
My mom just got a new Note 3 (yay!), and I have been quite busy exploring all its features. One thing that is nagging me, however is that both the stock browser and chrome are using up a great deal of battery. Wifi is eating 1% Every 1-2 minutes and while using the browsers this is amplified to a percent every 30 secs!
Please help me.

Wifi has always been a battery vampire.
Do you have brightness set to 100%?
How far are you from the router? A bad signal uses more power.
Is anything syncing in the background?

I just don't understand why they don't use stronger batteries in the first place. I wouldn't mind carry along an additional let's say 50g in exchange for a longer battery life ...

At stand by, the Note 3 hardly uses 1-2% battery every 8 hours or so, but when it comes to calling (core function of the phone!) and wifi+browsers the battery suffers greatly. I haven't tested cellular data yet because of weak signals near my house. Should I let it drop to 0% and charge to 100% or get a new battery? Really disappointed with the battery.
As a general rule you should avoid full discharge/recharge cycles (except for things such as recalibration) as this in the long run shortens the batt's lifetime even more. So it's best to recharge it more often and keep it somewhere between 10-90%.

UPDATE
New update guys:
I left my phone with WiFi on for half an hour and it ate 3% battery from 50% to 47% which includes a phone call. And this time the phone was a bit further away from the router. So, I guess it's not the WiFi that's sucking the juice but the browsers.
Any fix for this?

Fixed
Hey,
Well the issue fixed itself. I now have WiFi running with Smart Screen, Air Gestures, Sync, Screen Rotating and using the web browser to do some surfing and battery hasn't dropped a percent since the last few minutes. It got fixed right after another (it's 3rd) charge and it's working now.
Guess I just needed to charge it a few times for it to work. If anyone else is having issues and have charged it only once or twice, try charging it again. Mine was at 47% when I charged.
Requesting a mod to lock this.

My moto g is showing 1 day 13 hours 20 minutes and 4 seconds, at 55% charge, granted I have followed the moto care advice and turned screen brightness to auto and timeout to 30 seconds, also turned on "battery saver" in the settings but I'm well impressed so far.

The raw power is not always the most important.... I had N4 and it barelly lasted a day, the S3 was better beaten by Sony SP. But Moto G beat them all And is smooth as butter, no lags, freeze, reboots, overheating etc...

Well, now I know ...
Here are my results after the first day of moderate usage. Data was on the whole time, I did some bluetooth sharing for about 15min, 1 hour of playing games, 20min of YouTube, a lot of Whatsapp etc. and still managed to have 25% left by the end of the day.
VERY IMPRESSED :good:
2 days and still 25% to go.
Why from nexus 4 to motoG? Because the slidey nexus slid off of a counter, tried saving it with my foot but drop kicked it across the room.
Attempted to replace screen + digitiser as one. Replacement went flawlessly, screen worked but digitiser refused to register touch. Opted to buy a moto G ahead of paying out another £70 for another go at fixing the nexus.
As for how it compares, haven't noticed any difference aside from the insane battery life I'm getting with light usage.

Marshmallow Battery life discussion LG-G4

Hi! Can you share your personal experiences of battery life using android 6 on G4? With details like, SOT, network used and signal strenght, tweaks applied on phone, background running apps? And it improved over Lollipop?
Thanks!
(And sorry for my bad bad english)
I'm upgrade today to marshmallow so i will post my opinion in day or two. So far i'm hapy with upgrade.
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
Not sure Doze is working on my Marshmallow build.
I just switched from a Nexus 5 on 6.0 to this LG G4 and the Marshmallow ROMs don't hold a candle to the Nexus 5 in battery drain overnight.
Nexus 5 lost 1-2% overnight Dozing with a 2 year old tiny battery...the G4 lost 5-6% last night with a bigger brand new battery.
I suspect there's bugs to work out still.
I also switched from N5, 1 year and 9 month old, and had the initial feeling that the battery is not that great, but it was a placebo, N5 was super optimised, using Elementalx kernel, doze, Tasker, greenify vs G4 barely rooted and some bloatware removed. Actually G4 gives me 5 to 6h of SOT, while N5 was 3,5 to 5h. So if I look at the numbers G4 has the better battery life, even not being optimised for that.

Give it a few more charge cycles for battery to get conditioned.

Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

After a couple of days, minimal packages disabled, Screen brightness average 75% (half the time 50, half at 100%), Resolution at Max, video enhance On, gps on a little, Hotspot on for about an hour, Bluetooth controller/mouse/keyboard on for about an hour. Pretty impressed! I'm going to disable LOTS tomorrow and see how much better I can get. One thing I noticed, I barely had AOD on today, but yesterday had like 8%, hope they can fix that. Nearly 10% of my battery for AOD is CRAZY!

Ha ha I am not paid. I really didn't think it would be this good. And I don't have the screen turned down about 85%. I turned off some apps from running in the background. My Bluetooth stays on all the time because I use it in my car and to get in my house. That was day 2 let's see how day 3 goes. I have never gotten this good of SOT on any phone. 3 to 5 at the best.
