Let's shoot.
I am totally unable to make PIE display from the sides or the top, only from bottom. It's there any special gesture to have it displayed from the sides?
Second. I know that this is a feature request and that it comes second to bug fixing, but I miss many CM features. The advanced settings for example, but also the ability to set hardware button behaviour.
This is not a rant, just a little regret.

Setup PIE - Pie controls must be ticked, obviously
Pie location: I checked all 4 locations. Default is bottom.
Pie size: personal preference
Pie style: I chose quick
Example for left side: shortcut to
> quick tiles swipe: let the finger glide from the top left corner onto the screen
> notifications: let the finger glide from the bottom left corner onto the screen
If you slide from the right side, the behaviour is just vice versa.
Generally speaking, if you slide over the left half of the pie, you'll get to quick tiles. Over the right -> notifications
Advanced settings is available as an app (Galaxy Note Settings) within app drawer, not within system settings.

g-maps
since navigation is not provided in my country I've been using the brute version of google maps.
installation of 6.14.1 g-maps ends with "application not installed". I assume this happens because it's not a version prepared for PA. Is it possible to make it work in PA?
on a lesser note: (mistakenly asked this before in dev topic) backup of PA preferences initiates a "successful" message but restoring produces "no backups found". anyone who can backup and restore?
thanks.

You are unable to install modded maps because it is there as a system app. You have to uninstall previous version by deleting it from system/app folder by root browers (es file manager or root explorer). Then install modded version after reboot.
PA backup and restore prefs works here.

"Unknown sources" was already ticked but changing the folder permission did the trick. Thank you. Since only one more person complained about it I guess it happened due to installation procedures (though I flashed with all wipes).

So many helpful souls
Since I use this version of the maps I always clear data and cache of maps, street view and then uninstall them with rom toolbox. After that brute gmaps gets installed. But in my current case it starts installing and quits with "application not installed". I suspect some files remain after uninstalling gmaps from the gapps package but since that never happened before... who knows...

If you like the helpful souls hit Thanks button , that will be there rewards. I will give you an idea.
Go to settings>apps>all>maps...force stop, clear cache. click disable.
Go to root explorer navigate to system>apps delete maps.apk copy your modded map.apk and paste in system>app folder, give proper permission. rw r r. Reboot.
Then go to settings>app>all...scroll until bottom because disabled apps will be at bottom. Select maps>enable. Once enable, open maps and check. If not Reboot once again...then it will work. ENJOY

Ungrateful? No.
I didn't say I didn't like the answer. That wink is supposed to imply that it was a reply in good faith.
Prior to that someone pointed me towards a solution to a different issue that worked, and "thanks" was hit instantly.
No hard feelings I hope.

No hard feelings, just disliking the attitude.

I did state I know how to remove a system app and install a new one so a repetition of what I already know and written here did not help me: and probably won't help anyone who has the same issue. Still, I intended my reply to be friendly. On another note I dislike when anyone asks for "Thanks": if I feel "it helped" I do hit that button. Simple.
Complexities of written communication, different cultures, language barriers...
Let us not derail off OP anymore.

I guess you didn't, regarding your posts. Maybe you should try it there (as well).

Current work: focused on porting ICS to the Eris. Currently booting: see here
Even though this is a BETA release of Evervolv for the Eris, it is stable and has no significant bugs.
It will stay in beta as we continue to include new features and tweaks...similar to Google's approach with things like Gmail, Google+, etc.
I would appreciate it if you posted any issues, questions, or other feedback in this thread...don't be afraid to speak up.
To install: boot to recovery, nand backup, full wipe(data + dalvik-cache + cache), delete .android_secure from the sdcard, flash evervolv, flash gapps, reboot, and enjoy!
A full wipe is NECESSARY if you are coming from a different ROM!

*Q&A*
Is this CM7?
No, this is a build that started from AOSP. However, some of the fixes and few features have been derived from the CyanogenMod Team.
What do desirec and Eligo mean?
DesireC was the device codename given by HTC before getting it's official name - Eris. Starting backwards, the C stands for CDMA and then continue on...E-R-I-S(ed).
Each supported device also has a short latin word as an Evervolv-specific codename. Eligo is the codename chosen for the Eris. It means to pick out or choose in Latin.
How social is the evervolv team?
You can join us on IRC, irc.freenode.net #evervolv (webchat).
Also, you can follow @preludedrew & @MongooseHelix on twitter for updates and the status of Evervolv.

Thanks for pointing that out. GPS had been working fine but you're right, it is broken in this build.
I think I know what happened and I'm compiling a new build right now. Once that finishes I'll post it here if it's fixed. Sorry about that!
When you get it updated for the GPS issue, can you let me know if the Market automatically re-installs your previously installed apps please ? Just a follow-up to this post in the previous Evervolv-port thread:
Anyone have luck with the Market auto-reinstalling apps ? I thought there was a recent version of Google Apps that did it (previous versions for a long time no longer did and the current one, 060311 (?), doesn't either, at least in my experience). That's my only complaint about doing full wipes.... that is, having to reinstall my apps.

The build errored during compilation so I have it going again. Hopefully it will be good to go when I get back from lunch.

I've never used that feature but I can try and look into it. Do you know if it's the market itself or if it's supposed to do it if you have the backing up to google enabled in the main settings? Pretty sure I purposely turn it off on mine haha.

If you haven't already, try deleting the android_secure folder before installing the ROM. I think that will help.

It's supposedly related to that setting but in my many, many searches, I've found NOTHING definitive. It works flawlessly on Froyo but something changed with Gingerbread.
I always have that option checked (I think it's checked by default too).

I'll give that a try ... have done that before too. I thought the original reason for deleting that was when coming from FROYO to GINGERBREAD, but maybe it will help. Certainly can't hurt !
The download link in the OP has been updated to the build with GPS fixed. If you have already flashed the one where the GPS was broken, please reflash this fixed one. I personally did a full wipe from the broken version and that's what I'd recommend but you can try it with just a dalvik-wipe if you like to live on the edge .
Sorry again for the broken GPS in the initial release...I'm still new to this so there might be some things I miss.

Didn't work.... I had installed App Brain in the meantime so I'm going to give it a try now. The web-based Android Market sucks. It shows EVERY app that I've ever installed to my phone under "My Apps" and each one is flagged "INSTALLED" (even when not).

I've actually had the opposite effect in the past when deleting the secure.android folder where it failed to download anything. I think MH is correct about making sure you are allowing Google to back everything up when you first launch a new ROM.

Here's a procedure that may or may not help if you haven't tried it already:
* start with a ROM that has the apps you want to have auto-installed on a new ROM
* go to settings -> privacy -> first uncheck "automatic restore" then uncheck "back up my data" and select ok on popup (this should erase previously backed up info on google servers)
* now recheck "back up my data" and "automatic restore"
* go to settings -> accounts & sync -> select your google account -> press menu button -> "sync now" to hopefully ensure app info is backed up
* proceed to wiping, flashing the new ROM, and rebooting
* after signing in to google during the setup wizard, make sure both backup and restore options are checked when you get to that screen
* once the ROM has loaded, open up the market
* see if apps start auto-installing???

I could put it into the gapps zip if that's preferred. I've noticed that the market updates to the new version on it's own after I've opened it once. Might also have to reboot...can't remember. I was thinking this way, people that don't like the new market can uninstall the update and then both groups are happy but I'm open to suggestions.
Weird,
I downloaded google maps from text message and its seems that new market is installed. Weird. Sorry for any confusion.

- after a first quick flash (if comming from a BML base) recovery may bootloop. Pull battery and flash again (this is due to different SD card mounting points between roms and kernel)
- First boot will take some times, please wait for lockscreen
Versioning clarification:
Euphoria is based on CM9b14 and MIUI framework
Build number MyUI is like that: y.m.d_hhmm, it means the rom has been cooked on year 201y, month m, day d, at hh hours mm minutes[/indent]

2.4.6-1917 is an updated version of the rom. If fixes and updates a few things.
The market error is expected. Tell me if you manage to fix it. We are trying really hard to fix it on this end.
I just tried to download the fix zip but couldn't, i have tried it 3 times already but still get cannot open zip as archive error.
But the main rom is working, just flashed it about an hour ago.
Installation is great experience because of the Aroma installer, Congratulations on implementing that. I also want to do it in the rom but i have no idea how to do that, will have to do lot of reading.
Bootanimation looks good in Orange colour.
Also good thinking on QQ launcher, same Miui experience with an App drawer.
All required things are working quite well. Except the Market but it is obviously a known issue. Also i had previously mentioned using Market Enabler for getting around the Server Error issue, it doesn't work sorry for that, i will edit my post now.
Also turning off the icon shadow in launcher settings gives more smooth scrolling if you have lot of apps.
No major issues faced, will let you know in due time.

Everything running great with the exception of the market. Any idea what is causing the server error?

Thanks...I was asking more to see if I could help, not to bug for an ETA.
Not sure if anyone else has seen this problem, but I'm unable to install Titanium Backup. Error comes up mid install and says that there is not enough free space. However, this is on a FRESH install (wiped everything) and is the first app I tried to install. Any other apps - even WAY bigger apps - don't have any problems installing.

Try getting a different version and install that. Or reboot and try to install? some of those problems are hard to do because they dont reproduce very well.
And I have absoulutely NO idea whats causing the market problem. I spent almost 2 hours last night going through the /system folder and changing my vending/phonesky.apk and my fingerprint. still a server error. Its probably the first on our list for fixing.
I've also uploaded the second zip again, now just pick the one with the highest number. It's a no-wipe if coming from any previous captivate versions of MyUI. (seeing as there's only one, but more to come.)

Neither Team Inferno, or Cyanogenmod Team, or anyone else that was involved in this project is responsible for you device. Please be nice as this is my first ROM for SGH-I897.
So what is this? This is CM9, compiled and tabletized by the Team.
The stock Android keyboard that comes with the rom after flashing this mod is all distorted. I'd suggest downloading this one which works and looks fine.
Note: This ROM can certainly be used as a Daily Driver, however, everything is small. That we cannot fix because of the smaller screen size that we have. However, this is still fun nonetheless, if you don't mind the small stuff.
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Based on Official CM9 for the SGH-I897
Full tablet UI experience
Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
Great support
Working Phone.apk
New Combine bar: Saves a ton of space
New Camera UI
Two column Settings
Zipaligned
Deodexed
Usual CM9 bugs, other than that, you tell me
ROM Name changed
Added in custom wallpaper
Added InfernoBrowser.apk (Thanks mxbrowser)
Added TitaniumBackup.apk
Added ES File Explorer.apk
Other minor changes

Installation
- First time flashing ICS to your Galaxy S (or coming from another ROM)?
Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
Do a Nandroid backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon
WIPE again or Calendar Sync will not work.
- Upgrading from CM7?
Do a Nandroid Backup!
WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon
- Upgrading from another CM9 (or teamhacksung) Build?
Do a Nandroid Backup!
Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
Optionally install the Google Addon
Note: The upgrade process from CM7 to ICS is automatic, but downgrading from ICS to CM7 (or restoring Nandroid) requires flashing twice. Once from ICS and again from CM7's recovery.

Working fine so far. Tried increasing the LCD density, it makes the UI regular ICS, so we have to keep the density at 128!

i understand where you're coming from. like stated before, this ROM can be used as a Daily Driver, if you can stand the small screen. but my original point in this ROM was to see if i could do it. and we did it
i do understand the "pain" of such a small screen though.. sorry about that :/

[FAQ] Official FAQ Thread of GingerDX

Finally, I’m proud to present:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Important:
Before you post a “bug”, do a Factory reset!!! It’ll solve most issues.
Before you ask something, read the whole Thread!!!
Don’t even think about pm’ing Team Fun or me because of your Problems
Why are there two versions of GingerDX?
One version is for stock kernel, the other one for custom kernels
Which one should I use?
Well, it’s pure logic If you are on stock kernel, flash the stock version, if you are on a custom kernel, use the custom version.
I’m stuck in a bootloop! What shall I do now?
Keep calm. Enter CWM and restore a Backup or reflash the ROM again.
If you can’t enter CWM, reflash using Flashtool or SEUS.
I’m still stuck!
Did you flashed the right version? Stock version on stock kernel and custom version on custom kernel…
Why is my Wifi not working?
Have you flashed the right kernel?
Try to forget Networks
Still not working? --> Full Wipe
My Phone crashes when trying to sign into google…
Have you flashed GAPPS?
Have you flashed the libsensor patch (when on alfs)?
Did you do a Full Wipe?
How can i mount my sdcard to PC? There is no button...
Just tap the Android
Can I update busybox on stock?
No. It’ll brick your Device
What is ADB/USB-Debugging?
If you don’t know what it is, you don’t need it
ADB (or Android Debug Bridge) allows you to communicate between your computer and your phone (for example to get logcats)
How do I get a logcat?
If you need to ask, that’s the right link for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1944776
What is GalleryDX
It’s a modded version of QuickPic
And how do I get rid of it?
Delete /system/app/GalleryDX.apk and /system/lib/qpicjni100.so
Why is my wifi not working?
On custom kernel:
Have you flashed the right kernel?
--> GDX v28 and earlier: LinuxDX or Alfs v08a GDX/Alfs v09c WLAN
--> GDX v29 and later: nAa 14 or Alfs v08a CM7/Alfs v09c CM7
Why is the Auto-Brightness not working?
If you’re on Alfs kernel, have you flashed the libsensor Patch?
Why does my LED not blink like it should?
Just delete the file "/system/lib/hw/lights.shakira.so" and reboot.
Now it should work correctly.
Shall I use Supercharger?
You can, but it’s not recommended. The ROM is already tweaked, to get the best overall performance. If you use it, it’s your own responsibility and do NOT post some “bugs” which only you have got, because of using supercharger
Will the app “xxx” be included in the next version?
To make you happy: maybe…
To be realistic: the probability it pretty low
How can I delete system apps?
You can delete system apps by using a root explorer to delete the desired app from /system/apps/
But BE CAREFUL what you delete! Delete on your own risk!
What’s KSM?
You can read the exact explanation here
Or in short: it gives a performance boost (because it makes processes share the “same pages” with other processes --> less CPU calculation) and reduces the RAM consumption (--> pages are shared, no multiple copies)
If you’ve got some questions to add to this list, just post a comment or send me a pm!
Thanks for your support and keeping the Thread clean!
Good:good: but there is already a similar thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409113
Have you contact eagleeyetom?
I'm reading the word "official" so I guess you have, you could have taken the other thread and update it as Lucas is not that active here anymore and he have gave permissions for his threads.
There is no reason for two FAQ threads about gingerdx. So maybe mods should close the other one. Just saying its obviously up to mods.
And as a suggestion, you can add some links in order to make your thread more newbie friendly ,for example you can put a link for a more detailed unbricking guide.

Well guys.. I had decided. I am leaving XDA guys.. I am sorry. It's been so nice having you guys around. Well as many of you already know, I am using the iPhone 4 now and I rarely ever gets the time to log in to XDA and Tapatalk actually cost $2.99 on iOS. Soo yeah I am leaving and I guess sooner or later I would lose my RC status too. And all of my threads? You can inform a moderator or something if you want to help me continue updating all my nice threads if you want. You have my permisssion. For now I wont be online anymore though I might log in in a while.. Until the day I actually get a new Android phone then I will come back. Thanks guys for all of your support this year I really really did appreciated it.. However guys I am still keeping my faithful W8, still using it once in a while to read e-books and use my favorite Cyanogenmod app DSP Manager. Well that's it then... May we meet again soon.

thanks for the tip...but unluckly wifi setting isn't correlated to hotspot settings in locked status (standby). I found other users had same problems with other roms and phones, the solution they found is this app that allow to use cpu and wifi also when phone is in standby (locked)
Wakelock:

i have encountered this problem only on ginger dx v30, and i have reinstall this rom twice
when i wake the device up, somehow the lockscreen widget is not visible, but it is there, i can unlock it due to the vibration that i felt... and sometimes, when i try to either reboot or power off the device, pressing the power button, but no menu is visible, but i know its there, because i tap randomly on screen, and then another menu to choose either reboot or reboot the recovery pop out. im using this on alfsv09c and i have install this correctly, anyone knows why this happen?

It is always best to thank a ROM OP, in lieu of simply posting "Thank you".
Please keep discussion focused, on the topic described in the OP
Additional Q&A/T Information
Liquid's development threads are intended for developmental purposes only, which means that posts should be focused solely on bug reports (with logcats) and assistance to further improving the ROM. Development threads in general are by no means a 24/7 tech support service but everyone needs some help every now and then and that is the purpose of this thread.
Most of you should already be aware that Q&A threads such as this are intended to clear any off topic posts and questions from the development threads to the Q&A/T thread, thus keeping the development threads clutter-free and ON-topic.
Any discussions concerning battery life, custom kernels, 3rd party apps, mods, etc.. will be posted in this thread along with any other general questions or topics NOT pertaining to the development of the project itself.
Any and all questions are welcome here but you must ALWAYS remember to search as well as read the FAQ and the OP of the original thread prior to posting questions. You stand a better chance of finding the answer to your question yourself by performing these tasks and it's a great feeling.
Additionally, no one should answer to OT questions asked on the development threads but instead, when convenient, respond with something like "Please use the Q&A/T thread for this kind of question". Consecutive OT posts will be moved here to Q&A/T as required.
And finally, if someone in this thread helps you, please take a second to click their 'thanks' button! Someone has taken the time to assist you, and clicking thanks will make them feel appreciated so they come back the next day and help someone else! You get 8 thanks a day, don't be stingy with them! (I'm not even talking about me. I'm not looking for 'thanks'. Save them for others who directly answer your questions. They will deserve it.

How to best ask for help in this thread!
Please try to provide as much of the following information as possible when posting your issues for the best possible support from myself or the community.
1. ROM version
2. Recovery + version
3. Kernel + version
3. Gapps package + version
4. Mods
5. Troubleshooting steps
6. BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE
The FAQ can be found in 3rd post. I will add to it as the thread progresses.
If you discover a bug not listed in question #6 of the FAQ, please report it on the main Liquidsmooth thread (with logcats if possible) or submit the bug on their Official Google+ Bug section and it will be added here accordingly.
Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy the AWESOMENESS that is Liquidsmooth!
Q1 - How do I flash this ROM?
A - Download the ROM and GAPPS from the original thread. (Mirror found HERE)
1. Reboot recovery
2. Make a nandroid backup (recommended}
3. Wipe data/Factory reset
4. Flash the ROM and GAPPS
5. Reboot and enjoy!
Q2 - Can I flash this on my (jfltexx/jflteatt/jfltevzw/jfltespr/jfltecan/jfltetmo/jflteusc/jflteworldcom/jflte10-10-220)?
A - Yep. See post #2 of the original thread
Q3 - Can i flash this on my i9500?
A - No, sorry.
Q4 - I'm having crazy issues with _____ after flashing the latest nightly. PS: I dirty-flashed.
A - See the wise words in @CPA Poke's signature.
Q5 - It wont flash with TWRP, how do i fix it
A - This is an issue with LiquidSmooth. To flash with twrp, follow this method:*
1. Factory reset*
2. Reboot to recovery
3. Flash*
-OR-
A - Update your recovery to the most recent TWRP.
Q6 - What are the known bugs on this ROM?
A - Currently, they include the following:
- Font Size picker does not work.
- Slim Pie needs a reboot before the trigger areas work.
- App Settings (Xposed) does not work.
- Network Mode quick tile will disappear from the add panel list once it's added to the QS Panel (Note: Some users have also reported the same for their LTE quick tile).
Q7 - How can I change from the default CLock color on my lockscreen?
A - You cannot apply your changes from the system settings. To change lockscreen color you will need to do the following:
1. Settings > Lock screen > Widgets > enable widgets
2. Enter lockscreen then expand the widgets
3. Hold on the CLock widget then drag it towards the X icon to remove it.
4. Tap on the + sign and select CLock from the list of widgets
5. Adjust the settings to your liking
6. Tap on the check mark at the upper right hand corner of the CLock menu to confirm/apply your changes.
Just in case

What launcher are you using? Sometimes that has a tendency to mess with the stock wallpaper. I can't go searching for it at the moment because I use my own wallpaper and delete the liquidpaper folder.

Sorry guess it would be helpful if I made myself clear. I flashed the new build but I'm a KT fan and flashed the latest kernal. After doing so my wifi would not work, gapps kept force closing as well, there was one other but can't remember what it was.
Tried a clean flash at first, then tried a dirty flash over 03-13 both with the same result.

What recovery?
Nevermind read the comment above sounds like something is up, I'll try in a few, haven't had that happen (loose wifi) since I was messing around with radios... Did you try another build on the kernel or only the latest?

Seems to be an issue with loading frandom on boot up after flashing the latest 3/12 kT build..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51094944
No issues on stock kernel though.
The camera doesn't seem nearly as good as TW camera. I tried changing the focus mode to infinity but it refuses to change from continuous. And pictures I take don't look as good as I'd expect. Any fix for this or another camera app that will take better pics?
FYI, running Philz recovery and the 3/13 version.

Is anyone using the active display feature? The brightness adjustment doesn't seem to have an effect. 3.14 build.

Try this app. I find it to be a good replacement to the AOSP camera.

Thanks, seems like a good alternative. But I've got a bigger problem now. Phone died and is refusing to charge while off. All I see is the battery icon with a frozen pinwheel. What do I do?
