T-mobile Visual Voicemail

Looks like someone managed to get an unofficial release of t-mobile's wm6.5 which now has visual voicemail, they extracted the files for it and im wondering if anyone has the capabilities of creating a cab file from this. Check out this post for the files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5302910&postcount=13

Doesn't Work yet.
I just tried calling T-Mo and asked to enable Visual Voicemail and they said it is not available. Rumors say might be able to convince them to enable it if you say that you have an android phone and would like the android data plan but I don't know what the implications of that are. Personally until people start reporting an efficient way to get it working or T-Mo officially releases it I'm going to stick with Phone Fusion for now.

All depends on what current data/messaging plan you have...
I had the $35 unlimited data/messaging 'Smartphone' plan, switched to the MyTouch Unlimited Data/Messaging plan for the same amount and was able to activate VVM no problem.
Love it.
I started seeing that as a trend over in the other thread so I have updated my phone on the tmobile site to a MyTouch and changed to the android data plan. T-Mobile Visual Voice Mail works great. Absolutely better then Phone Fusion.

+1 on that, I never liked Phonefusion, even the Android version sucked
Downloaded visual voicemail from here and worked fine after installed and restarted phone.

It will not work with ATT. it is a service from T-Mobile.
well i still cannot get it to work. do i need to have tmobile switch me to the android data plan? i have a my att touchpro unlocked for tmobile.
it says that I do not have the visual voicemail feature enabled....thats my error

how many lines are on your plan? you may be selecting the wrong one. thats what i did. figured it out after 10 tries
Go to my t-mobile.com,select plan & services under manage, click on change services then scroll down to check visual voicemail. It will state that its free but you have to submit the changes and then it will work.Did mine about 2hrs ago.

well wait. i do not see anywhere to choose visual voicemail. should i change my phone selection? visual voicemail is not an option to change services....
nevermind thats what i needed to do yayyy! hopefully it works now! thanks sooo much!
Ok,try changing your phone to my touch 3g and it surely will work.
I called in last night and had it activated on my phone. The employee had to have their supervisor put it on because according to their system TP2 does not support it and therefore I must have been using a 3rd party app which is unsupported, but working anyway!
T-mo VISUAL voicemail synchronization
Does the t-mo VISUAL voicemail automatically synchronizes and updates its list with a new VM or does one have to do it manually each time a new msg is received?
I have the 5.99 t-zones data plan. If change my phone to the my touch 3g, it is going to require a different data plan. Will my account get flagged in a negative way?
This would be a fun feature to have, but I am willing to not use it if it's going to require me to upgrade from t-zones.
Any help or feedback is appreciated!

So I'm talking with the reps and they are saying if they switch to MyTouch and Adriod plan that Internet on the Tpro wont work possibly, I assume that is BS and they are only saying that for support reasons yes?

MMS without Data Plan

Before I used to be able to send mms without a data plan and now I cant. What can I do to fix this? I cant even send it to myself. I dont have a data plan, never really did but was always able to send my mms/pix. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Btw Im running Bionix 1.3.1 if makes any difference (twiz edition)
Do you have packet data turned off? That is what was blocking it for me. Also try to send tje mms with a 3rd party messaging app.

sorry Ive been so busy with work I havent been able to update. (I work weekends)
What I did was put in test settings from 2nd post in this thread:
http://forums.t-mobile.com/t5/Samsu...Froyo-update/m-p/687239/highlight/true#M52723
What she says is perfect. And to turn data off while keeping mms on use data toggle widget from market. The mms wont download but you will be notified.
Its not perfect but its great!

[SOLUTIONS] Text not working? Here's how to fix!

Anyone having trouble with SMS sending and receiving? Try some of these options:
1. The easiest would be to use Google Voice. It integrates all your messages and solves the SMS fix very easily.
2. Go into CWM > Advanced > Fix Permissions > Reboot (50-50 chance. Some have gotten this to work, others have not)
3. Update PRL (Unlikely to do anything, but worth a shot)
4. If all else fails, try updating your modem (This only applies to those on EC05 or EB13) to EE03. It hasn't been tested to work, but once again, it's worth a shot and it seems that most people on EE03 have gotten SMS to work.
Hope this helps!

uhhh.... wtf? A cell phone service having troubles with making voice calls? Texts I can understand, but voice calls? Really sprint? Really? Thank god I am not having those problems, nor do I rely on my phone for business, even if the issue is only for a couple of hours.
This issue might affect me if I had a device.

Has ANYONE got Native Visual Voice Mail working with Verizon?

I cannot figure this out. According to a different thread there should be a setup in the Phone app but it is not there.
Have you got it working? If so, how?
Thanks

It doesn't work.
Non-Verizon phones do not have VVM support.
You will need to use GV and use that (free) to get VVM functionality.
You setup a GV number and forward non-answered calls to that number and have it go straight to VM.
You then can use the GV app for VVM.
Also please search before starting a new thread.
There are already two threads related to this topic.

In the oreo beta, VVM works natively in the phone app for verizon. Just not in Nougat, not sure why.

Can't activate voicemail on T-Mobile

I went into the stock Phone app to activate my voicemail with T-Mobile, but each time I try I get a "Cannot activate voicemail" error. Did a lot of Googling, and it sounds like a lot of people have run into this. T-Mobile support was useless. I know I can use T-Mobile's Visual Voicemail app, but that would be my Plan B. I've tried installing and then uninstalling the T-Mo voicemail app. Has anybody else run into this and figured out a solution?

Yeah, the stock phone app has built-in visual voicemail
Can't activate either. Even on old phone. The general consensus is they do not allow 3rd party vvm apps with their service.
This comes from someone who called twice, filed a complaint against first, and explained in depth what the issue was, spending 40+ mins on the call.
I'll follow the thread but it seems like you have to use the VVM app.
does att allow you to use your built in vvm client?

I wouldn't expect much in the way of updates on this issue. T-mobile has been disabling built in visual voicemail on Android phones for years with some sort of network side switch. A handful of people have gotten it to work on some unlocked Pixels and maybe one or two other devices, but the results are never reproduceable.

on my last phone (OnePlus 6T) I had to use the T-Mobile application when not rooted. When I had root I was able to get visual voicemail with transcription via the Google (Pixel) Dialer and changing some lines of an xml file in the root directory and also install the Google phone app as a system app.

We're talking about stock visual voicemail, not Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi calling. I also don't have issues with those.

Yeah voicemail is fine for most of us too. VISUAL VOICEMAIL doesn't work in the stock dialer. It requires the T-Mobile app downloaded from the app store. :silly:

so what do we need to do to pressure t-mo to make this work?
It's always worked on my pixel phones and I never never thought twice about it until aquiring my oneplus8pro. Now if it's working on pixel by default, I'm assuming there is a way for it to work on Kona, just need to figure it out. Just thought I'd share my opinion & of course if I learn something new, I will report.

That’s pretty lame forcing more spam ware onto us like this. Last built in VVM that worked for me using T-Mobile was with an unlocked USA mode note 9.
