[Q] ADB Drivers work only in storage mode, not charge mode. - Thinkpad Tablet General

I have been trying to flash CW Recovery to my TPT for a few days now and I just figured out why I kept getting the "device not found" error in CMD.
I have the TPT ADB drivers installed. When my TPT is in storage mode when connected VIA USB, the drivers are there, but when I do charge only mode, device manager says that the drivers are not found and when I try to install them again from a specific folder, it can't.
Why is this happening?

R: [Q] ADB Drivers work only in storage mode, not charge mode.
Probably the reason is that "charge only" mode keeps only the power wiring of the circuit active, while all the logic is switch off, so you don't having any device connected but only a charging tablet. Why do you switch to charge only?

FYI: RageAgainstTheCage kills Debugging mode

Its not just z4root. When executing the rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin, I cannot get the ADB device to show backup in Device manager until Archos reboot.
Just thought I should put it out there as well.
I had a similar problem yesterday after trying to enable usb tethering to my nexus 1, I had to reboot archos to get the USB to charge phone or recognize as USB drive again.

Win 7x64 don't detect TPT while in debug mode

My Win 7x64 don't detect TPT while in debug mode.
Why is that? I think, all with adb driver should be OK!?!
Now I cannot root my TPT
Does anyone has the same problem?
Did you try a reboot. I had no issue with my w7x64.
Me neither. Switch USB cables and usb ports and computers
I think, problem is not at the PC/win7x64.
After update to OTA 2.5 and also to ICS - no more TPT in debug mode!?!
Before that i was able to view my TPT in recovery mode under MTP Devices, but not yet!?!?

[Q] A500 not detectable in APX mode??

I'm trying to debrick A500 with a WinXP PC.
It can be detected by the PC as "MTD device". Installed the Acer driver for it (not sure what it does).
It can enter the APX mode, detected by the PC correctly, and installed the APX driver "Universal_Naked_Driver_0.72".
But, adb devices does not detect it, so cannot move further to PBJ20upgrade.exe and so on.
What does this mean? Bricked beyond repair?

I'm assuming that you mean MTP (Media Transfer Protocol)?
I'm assuming this means that you are booting Android as I'm not aware of the device being represented as anything but an APX device (0955:7820) if you do not.
What is the problem?

When in APX mode Android is not loaded so you cannot use ADB (Android Debug Bridge). It should not really matter as, from what I recall, PBJ20upgrade will only use ADB to reboot the device into AXP mode.
Thank you eppeP,
Yes, it was MTP.
So I'll try to proceed with PBJ20upgrade.
(am away now for a week or so ... )

Soft Bricked my TF101

Im on CWM v5.8.1.8 and it does not see the see an external sd card. I had "wipe data/factory reset">"wipe cache">,wipe dalvik cache> Flashed (EOS-tf101 20130704-121.zip and then gapps_4.2.2 tf101) and fixed permission and rebooted TF then it got stuck at "Eeepad boot screen"
I tried to install the Nake Universal drivers on my pc and laptop and neither seem to install it.
TF101 is not reconized by the computer in APX mode, (idk if its in apx mode) I tried many times to put it in APX mode.
I waited until the battery completly died and then left it charging for a day to make sure the battery is fine and cable works.
I then put it CWM screen and then try to put in APX mode while is connected to the PC or laptop and I don't hear any sounds from the PC as if reconized it. I can only place it on CMW screen and I cant put anything in the internal memory.
i finally got the linux live CD on my laptop. what can I do from here?
With it in CWM, connect the USB cable to your computer.
Open a terminal window and type "adb devices"
Does it show a recovery device?

Bootloop/ADB/Data Recovery - Phone Not Recognized With Correct Drivers

I am trying to recover the data from my old bootlooping LGV20. My drivers are updated. When I plug my current, working LGV20 into the computer, the phone is immediately recognized and the driver is listed as LG v4.2.0, the most current in Device Manager. The phone is labled as its model number in Devices and Printers. When I plug in my old V20 (which has full access to stock recovery and download mode but does not boot) the computer recognizes something is plugged in, but in Device Manager the device doesn't show up. In Devices and Printers the phone shows up, but as "LGE Android Phone".
Summary:
When a working LGV20 is plugged in, it is recognized and the latest 4.2.0 driver is used.
When the bootlooping phone is plugged in and completely off, it is only recognized as "LGE Android Phone"
Not recognized in Recovery mode
Because of this issue, I cannot use adb on the phone to recover my data.
The phone is stock, non-rooted, android 7, LG-VS995. I have the usb debugging option in the recovery menu though the phone bootloops when this is selected.
ADB installed via 15 second installer and SDK.
"ADB Devices" returns nothing.
When in Download mode, "Fastboot devices" returns nothing.
This issue was repeated on a second computer.
USB 2.0 and 3.0 tried.
The phone is recognized in LGMobileSupportTool
In Download mode the phone is recognized as "LGE AndroidNet" in Devices and Printers and as a COM41 port (changed from 7) in Devices and printers.
What do? I'm at a loss and it feels like I've tried everything.
Edit: I've successfully dumped the phone via LGUP, tried flashed a new image, phone is still bootlooping. Is there any way I can browse the userdata dump file?
