Market - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I went to install an android app via the market on the internet and it doesn't list my Nexus? Probably because it's rooted, but how do I fix this? I've never had this issue with rooted phones before.

Mines rooted and running PA and it shows up in the Play Store. Are you sure you're signed into your google account and sync is on?

Which app?

It has nothing to do with root.

What does it deal with then?

I don't know in your specific situation, but rooting the phone won't make it disappear from your devices in the Play Store.

Any idea how to fix it or if it's an issue with Google and not my phone?
Edit: not sure why but clearing the cache/market data fixed it

Is there any way to get this back without waiting for roms?
(Also, what is that thing called?)

Navigation bar, the aokp rom has thus feature built in. I'm not sure if there's a mod for touchwiz roms yet though.

Why do you want double buttons when they are built into the S3, it just takes up extra screen space? The Nexus and other devices that don't have hardware buttons use those soft buttons.
Go to phantoms rom page and there's the mod to enable it there.

Ahh sorry, I should of mentioned I'm on verizon.
And @Halmo I'd like the keep the feel that stock android gives, and I also don't like having to hold a button for the task manager.

No way to do that. Just wait for someone to develop a ROM that will work with all that locked bootloader jazz. At that point, you might be able to get the nav bar back.

From what ive heard your supposed to tap your build number in about tablet 7 times and it should give you developer settings. Thats from what ive heard also so i could be wrong.

[Q] Factory reset question.

I have preformed a factory reset on my phone (Google Nexus 4) a few times and I noticed that it deletes my data/resets it. I would like to know if this is a way for me to cheat my 2 gb data cap or if I'm being charged

what you delete is the record on the phone. The record that is used to charged you monthly by Tmobile or AT&T or Verizon is stored on their servers.

Cant visit nydailynews.com

For some strange reason I can not get to www.dailynews.com on my LG G2 using Chrome browser. It just happens on the G2 and no other phone. Can someone test if they can pull up www.dailynews.com on their LG G2 with Chrome. This is even after a hard reset and first thing I attempt to do.

I tried mobile and desktop version both were fine. Have you tried wifi and mobile? If you're in wifi maybe something is blocking it for some reason?

Oh, download bbs or gsam or any wakelock detector then. Never face that issue with rooting before.
Can you guide me how to troubleshoot?

To see which apps cause the wakelock you need wakelock detector. Better battery stats or gsam can help with that.
