Flash cwm every time whenever you see stock recovery..( menu with red text)
Standard steps are always given in rom thread first page of which you downloaded..
No... you can be on custom kernel to flash rom
No.. ics won't be coming to y duos any time soon..
There is no source built roms.. so there are only bugs related to specific rom etc
Just, read rom threads to know bugs..
And, please don't create question/help/doubt threads in development section... do it in q & a section...

[HELP] Noob with Galaxy Tab GT-P1010

Hello friends XDA, just bought the Galaxy Tab GT-P1010, already has this world of Android after passing through a Galaxy Ace, Play Xperia, HTC Incredible S and Evo 4G, but hey this is my first tablet, the Android tablet comes with 2.3.6, the rom is GINGERBREAD.XXKPG is what I give the basics:
. - Install Recovery
. - To make it root
. - Update to ICS, in this case what would be the most stable rom for the tab.
This is what I make, I hope your answers and sorry if this has already been published, but I mess something with the tab.
Take a look in development section there's currently only two options, imperium rom and cleanrom, both are gingerbread slightly faster than stock
Currently there is no ics for this tab, but if you check out madteam forum motafoca is working on a cm7 port and then i beleive a cm9 port that will bring ics to our tab
Sent from my GT-P1010 using xda premium
Too bad there is no rom ICS, well just update the tab and now I have this version of GINGERBREAD.XXXXKPI rom, can you tell me how I do the root, thanks
Goto mad team forum look in the dev section and download the cwm file then flash the pda file with odin

Again...
Again, XXKPI 2.3.6 Gingerbread is the latest version for the p1010,
and there are two roms currently -Clean Rom and the Martian Rom.
I hope there are more developers soon, so that we could enjoy some nice
Android techs.
I went out of my way to provide a comprehensive set of tutorials that has even been stickied within this section. It answers ALL of these questions.
Apparently nobody READS anymore before posting a question with almost the same exact title as my thread.
I read it. Your write ups are excellent. I myself just picked up my tab, and really appreciated the info. Thanks.

ehm...the only section for duos is the Android development one (there's a thread which redirect here for Q&A)...I've read the posts of the developers but I cannot choose so I asked...is that so wrong?

That's not wrong, but if there was a best rom, do you think the threads of other roms would have been open? There is no best rom. Every rom differs in its qualities, and it's up to you to decide which is best for you.
Secondly, many threads have been created with these pointless questions, and it increases the work of the mods and admins. So we discourage it.
I hope it's clear to you. (don't take it rudely, awright?)

There is nothing like the BEST rom. I own a sgy but still havent found the best rom yet! Btw, Being a sgyd developer, I would recommend you my rom. Ics fusion v1.3 I guarantee that you wont be disappointed from it and its very stable~!
I've tried evo, ChobitsDigital and ICS fusion, in my opinion the best is the last one, few lags and no crashes...thanks hell_lock!!!
I prefer techduos rom working f9 for me

Help Guys:

I installed the following ROM on my friend's device as he requested an update to jelly bean:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679563
JELLYBLAST V3 for Galaxy Y
The ROM was working perfectly. Recently, he reset his device from the settings menu. But, the problem is after he reset, the phone process automatically force closes. I am sure that this is a bug as I remember reading it before I flashed the ROM. But,I don't remember where and guys can you please help. If it's a hardware problem, report back soon as his warranty expires in June.

Thread Closed due to being about a not allowed ROM.
To answer the post from above, look through the dev section and look at features etc. There is no "best" ROM, just personal preference.

Help plzzz....!!!

my bro. have galaxy y.. I rooted it.. there r too many custom ROMs available. on development section .. I don't know which one is stable and smooth. .. can anyone help me to select stable rom . ? give me link also... thanx in advance
1.) There are many available roms which are candidates for "stable".
2.) READ, READ, and READ, the OP, user comments, and feedbacks from users about the ROM. <- (Missing this step is the #1 reason why people's phones get bricked then whine and blame developers for their fault of not reading instructions)
As simple as that.
There is no 'most stable', 'best' rom/kernel ever since we have our own perceptions.
Well you can try Hyperion 8 build 02.It's fast and stable or if you want rom with pure ICS looks,go for Evo X-4 and yeah please read the forum rules.
