hi to related experts,is there anyway to install android market on htc magic android version 1.5?? its from vodafone and rooted but not s-off?is there any new tools for permanent root and s-off the device??

You probably got a Malaysian phone, like I did. There's a stickied thread in the Tattoo Android Development forum that will let you flash the official HTC WWE ROM, which has market on it.

it might take an hour for you to read up on the wikki and play around, go into fastboot and finding out your version number etc. from there you can then download and install adb and fastboot, flashing a new recovery rom, flash radio if needed etc.

Hi all.. sorry to bug ya guys.. i am not new to the world of firmware upgrading but this h&c magic has been one of the most hardest for me.. i have a rogers unlocked htc magic with
firmware 1.5
kernel 2.6.27-5b476e38
Baseband 63.18.55.06KU
Build 3.05.631.7
main board 32A
I have tried so many things to get this to to root ie download files put them on my sd card but non worked i am not sure perhaps i didnt find the right software
i went to the unlockr.com tried there guides.. non worked i am not sure i i am doing this wrong i also went to the wiki for androids the links are broken..
so please if someone has an easy method to root this rogers htc magic please post it

At current there are NO 100% stable 2.2 (froyo) ROM's avalible. (Apart from the shipped chinese ROM)

I just bought my HTC Magic. And i just realised that it's android 1.5 and there is no official 2.1 or 2.2 release and it's the 32A version.. I had a HTC Diamond before and i flashed it to different ROMs many times with HardSPL.. Now i dont know how to Flash my HTC magic do i need to root it or something before please help guys!

Check out this link in the general section. Go into fastboot (back + power) and copy down all of the numbers you see for SPL, Hboot, etc. Then just follow the links in the instructions above as long as they apply to your device. Or check out the wiki in the links stickied above in the developers forum.
