XXBLL7 Android 4.1.2 Official Firmware Change Log - Galaxy Camera General

Now that XXBLL7 Android 4.1.2 Official Firmware is available for our cameras it would be interesting to see what changes it brings. As usual it's a hunt and track down for changes to upgrades but maybe we can compile a list?
So far I noticed there is now 4 new scenes in SMART mode...
"FOOD" - Take pictures that emphasise the vivid colours of food
"DAWN" - Take pictures that emphasise the dawn sky by making the blue more intense
"SNOW" - Take pictures that emphasise the brightness of snow by making the white more intense
"PARTY/INDOOR" -Take pictures of parties or other indoor activities without blurring
Also:
You can set an option to not automatically fire up the camera when you power on - very pleased by this one!
An icon has appeared on the notification bar - a battery with a recycle sign - to tell you that you have enabled 'Smart Network' mode (turns off network functions when screen is off)
Updated versions of Samsung built in apps naturally
Still looking...
Sadly the storage card dialog still pops up on a cold boot
Remote Viewfinder still not working

I want to flash this firmware, but can it be rooted?

Since I've rooted my Camera with Exynos Abuse, it says it is non-standard and refuses to tell me about any updates. Do I need to back out everything before it will notice the update? Does the abuse hole still exist after the update?

Check in settings-about device-Status If "Device Status" says "Custom" then you will not receive OTA updates. Mine says "Custom" as I rooted with odin. I don't know if Exynos Abuse changes the device status.

Is French language included in this firmware ?
Thx

I've just tried to, straight after flashing "without wipe" and the Exynoss Exploit APK from Chainfire fails to Root, but I'm going to do a wipe and see if it's a problem with some residual files or something.
Update:
With ExynosAbuse 1.40, although it detects the device as Exploitable, it's unable to Root the device.

Can't root with Exynos Abuse 1.40... But Auto-Root is working fine !
Could you check amount of ram ? I have now 755mb, and before i remember (or i'm drunk) that i had 768mb
Strange...

I downloaded from Samfirmware and installed through ODIN although I lost root I was able to re-root successfully again using chainfire's method.

there are a few other settings in smart mode which are snow, home party or something, there is also a weather app that has been installed

There's a setting in the settings menu called power that I didn't notice before, that allows you to choose when the device shuts itself down. Another thing I've found is that you don't have to keep enabling voice control in the camera app every time you close and open it now.
And just the general responsiveness seems better in the camera app too.

Can someone check the ram available please ? 755mb max ?

He is talking about the max available RAM on the device that is usable.
I don't have the galaxy camera, but the RAM amount can indeed change (The S3 had 7xxMB with ICS and now has 8XXMB in JB)

Ah, OK. In that case the total I have is 755Mb since the update.
Hope that helps.

Yeah, the value you have when you long press home (Samsung task killer).
In 4.1.1 it seems to me that i had 768 instead of 755.
After Odin update, i also had another 'camera update' during few minutes, on the 1st boot (specific to Galaxy Camera ?)

I've currently set the camera up with a lockscreen so it doesn't extend the lens when I hit the power button, but also, if the last thing the camera had open was the home screen, it opens back up in the home screen when I unlock the device.

Changes:
- audio recording in video has definitely improved.
- recording video, we can now pause recording and then resume.
- homescreen > phone > menu > in-call equalizer now renamed to my call
- developer options > animator duration scale.
- settings > wifi > advanced > wifi timer
- delete many files in default file browser now shows windows with progress bar and remaining files to be deleted instead of just circle icon rotating in previous rom.
- haven't used browser that much so hope someone could confirm, menu > downloads and menu > settings > bandwidth management
- connects to wifi faster now.
- turning on bluetooth, shows you a window for available bluetooth devices. bluetooth confirmed working both send/receive.
- settings > battery > click on graph to show history details > now includes gps alongside mobile network signal, wifi, awake, screen on and charging.
- compose message using voice, no need for internet.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30463072&postcount=92
noticed when using voltage control:
- back then i only see 200mhz,400,800 and 1.4ghz always utilized. now i can see 400mhz,700 and 1.1ghz,1.2,1.3 being utilized as well. i haven't seen this happen in previous roms from long hours of use and gaming. oh btw, governor used is still pegasusq,i/o is cfq, min 200mhz max 1.4ghz
- pop-up player now resizable. clicking on it will now just pause the video and not return to full screen like it did.
- thanks trc
- CELL STANDY REPORTING BUG FINALLY FIXED. thanks bala high roller baby baby bay
minor bug:
- settings > date and time > when you uncheck 24 hour format the settings(gear) icon on notification bar moves to the right because A.M. or P.M. large font moves the icon to the right. They need to fix this, it's kinda annoying. for me only half of the gear is seen but still clickable. for many, they can't even see the gear because it's pushed to the right.
no such problem on landscape mode.
- GPS confirmed working.
Looking for Voice command for apps? like shoot for camera? answer or reject for calls?
it's not in settings > language anymore. it's in s-voice's settings now.
it is more accurate now, like in music player when you say "previous" sometimes it understands as "pause" kinda like hearing only the "vious" that sounds like "pause". it wasn't accurate with "volume down" back then, only "volume up". now it can distinguish clearly.
BTW, you don't to enable s-voice to be able to use those voice commands. you just need to enable them in s-voice's settings.
wondering what Disable HW overlays is in settings > developer options? description is Always use GPU for screen compositing.
this could help you understand.

OP.. seriously. If you want to make a thread and have [TAGS] like there's actually info here... than you have to provide some info. Right now your more asking a question and waiting to see what people say. You need to have something of relevant info if anyone is gonna take this thread seriously. I came in here thinking I could see a cool rundown of what Jelly Bean is bringing to the table, but nah. just another, mislabled topic thread title, with no useful information. This one's easy.. just freaking google your thread title and give us a nice little sneak peak at the features packed in buttery jelly beans! ... for god sake! :crying:

When taking pictures you get a white border around it indicating that a photo was taken
In apps manager the text on the tabs is smaller and you can swipe sideways to change between downloaded and all. I didn't notice this in ICS
The window to choose which program to use to open a file/default is new (see screenshots)
A whole bunch of new widgets; favourite apps, favourite settings,, favourite contacts, dialler, simple alarm, smart switch, turn off all sounds.
mnt is now called storage
Overscroll glow is now bigger
In app info window there is a check box for notifications
Wi Fi direct is not a separate item in settings but is under menu in the wi-fi window

[ROM] [SGH-I757M only] Paranoid Android

Paranoid Android (Jelly Bean) for Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SGH-I757M)
This is a fairly new ROM built from the Paranoid Android 2+ source code.
I do not develop this ROM nor do I provide support for it.
I felt that we needed a new topic to talk about this PAndroid ROM as the CM10 topic was getting pretty hefty and unorganized.
Since the development for this ROM is new, don't expect it to be as stable as CM9. Check "What Doesn't Work" for a list of what's broken!
If you still don't know what ClockWorkMod Recovery or Paranoid Android is, Google it or search XDA.
WARNING! Do not flash this to a different device model from the one it's meant for. It will not work with the other Galaxy S2 iterations, so don't try it with the Bell Galaxy S2 I9100M (non-HD). DO NOT flash it on the Asian variant of the GS2 HD (SHV-E120) either, as it uses slightly different internal hardware - the ROM will be unstable and the phone component will not work. If you are sure you have the CANADIAN Bell Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SGH-I757M), you may continue.

Flashing The Recovery Menu
Do you have the stock recovery menu installed? If so, move to step two. If you already have CWM installed, move to "Flashing Paranoid Android"
Download Odin from here: bit.ly/WXpnCN AND download CWM Recovery here: bit.ly/WXpfDA
Start your SGH-i757m in 'Download Mode' (Shut off device. Hold the Volume Down key while powering the phone on. The device will vibrate and soon you will see a Warning screen, where you will need to press Volume Up to enter Download mode.)
While in Download Mode, start up Odin and connect your phone to the PC via USB. You should see a status message in Odin saying your device was "added".
In Odin, press the 'BOOTLOADER' button and select the CWM TAR file you downloaded from step two.
In Odin, press Start. Once Odin is done it should say "PASS". If it doesn't finish or is stuck, try re-downloading the recovery file.
Your device will reboot.
Flashing Paranoid Android
Download the latest version of PAndroid from Socim's Dev-Host: bit.ly/WK042w AND G-Apps from: bit.ly/117KEsZ
Place both *.zip files on your Micro-SD card. Do NOT Extract Them!
Start your phone into CWM Recovery mode. To accomplish this hold down the Power Button to turn the phone on, and then immediately hold down Volume Up + Volume Down at the same time. Let go of the buttons at the exact moment you see the "Samsung" Logo.
Select "Wipe Data/Factory Reset"
Then choose "Install Zip" then "Chose Zip From External SDCard" and select the PAndroid version you downloaded in step one. Do this TWICE just to be sure.
Next flash the G-Apps file you downloaded from step one the same way.
OPTIONAL: If you need to install the Stock Bell ICS Modem, now would be the time to do it. You can get it from dsixda's Dev-Host: http://bit.ly/Wu4SJe
Reboot your device.
What Doesn't Work
Some GUI elements (ie. Youtube Controls) become hidden behind content
Some camera apps display as unintended (ie. Instagram)
No touch-to-focus for camera. Regular focus does work though
"Random" crashes
Sources and Acknowledgements
Huge thanks to Socim for getting the ball rolling on this device again! bit.ly/Vc3j7d
Also, I based most of my instructions off of dsixda's posts. bit.ly/UavsHn

Is this rom still being worked on? I have a t989d and the jb roms for it are amazingly stable and still being improved. Would love to see a jb rom for this phone become a stable daily driver.
Gonna flash this either way and check it out!
Working Good here. Great work!!!
The phablet mode 600px with a defualt DPI of 290 works great and looks great for most apps! Some may need individual adjustment. The only app that will need adjustment after reboot is the launcher. This is what you do.
You head into paranoid settings,
hit the Apps button on the left.
Then choose Trebuchet and adjust the DPI to exactly 228. Hit Apply.
This makes everything look right again. In both the drawer and on the home screen. Otherwise your apps in drawer will not fill the screen properly, and icons start looking to small. On the home screen, for some reason if you have 5 coloumns or less, you lose your last two icons on your launcher. You will also need to do the following.
head into the launcher settings,
click home screen.
Adjust the rows to your choice.
But the coloumns need to be 6 or more.
While you are in there you will also want to
enable Resize any widget
and disable wallpaper scrolling.
I also changed alot of my dpi for other individual apps, making things look even better. This rom has made my phone work and look more awesome than it was ever destined to be! Thanks to everyones continued efforts on this phone.
Only issues I have are backlight keys sometimes do not want to come back on when you unlock phone. They do come back on later tho, never really timed it. Also andom reboots. Maybe like one or two a day.
Also I should mention DO NOT install the latest gapps
gapps-jb-20121128-signed.zip
I installed it and it broke my keyboard. If you just gotta try it..... then make sure you have a nand backup done first.
To get the backlights to come on just adjust your screen brightness...lights come on, for me anyway. I have the slider in notification bar so it's not a big deal.

I suggest not restoring your apps and settings using Google's wizard. Sometimes it breaks a lot. Instead, just restore your apps manually using the Play Store OR a previous Titanium Backup.

When we got Android 4.2 we will need it.
Hey guys just an update on my phones experience. The rom is pretty stable for me as well. However I have had a few sudden reboots and system ui crashes. As well the latest gapps do not work correctly for me for some reason so I flashed the gapps from cm9 and that works.
The sudden reboots happen mainly when watching a video or changing wallpapers and the system ui crashes out of no where.
Now I have wiped cashed partition and delvik cach which solves the above mentioned two issues it for awhile but continues again. As well re flashing the PA rom from Nov 22.

Actually that's what I always do. At first, I let the Play Store downloads all the apps again, and then I restore the user apps data using Titanium Backup. This way, I don't have to tap "Install" for every fricking app. But it got so hot in the middle of downloading the apps, that I kinda freaked out and got back to CM10. It may be related to the settings and configuration connected to my Google account. I'll try again without entering my user name and password at the start and see how it goes.
I ran the ROM for the better part of 16 hrs (workday testbed) other than the play store crashing here and there, I had no issues, I was very impressed. I noticed the benchmark scores were low but if anything we know they're nothing more than a number in most cases. I did have the same heating up issue with heavy file transfers but honestly couldn't give you a value of PA vs dsixda's ICS rom. Performance "felt" much smoother and more fluid. Gallery, lights and what not worked like a charm.
PA question - Where do I turn on display battery %? I'm going to run it another day with all my automated & battery apps running, see how battery life is.
Thanks for the dev on the ROM guys, really gave new life to the device. I was seriously debating axing it for another, at my own expense since its a work phone.
Everything except for the Paranoid settings, adjusts the same way as CM10. You can find the option for battery % under System Settings/system/Status Bar.
I forgot to mention one thing that had caused me issues. When I installed PANov23 I had high useage on the app named "media". I killed it have not had a problem since. I also prefer the noop or deadline scheduler and have heard that the CFQ scheduler can sometimes take some time to scan your sdcard causing high CPU useage upon bootup. I also recommend spending the money on the PRO version of Titanium Backup. If you are a frequent Flasher, and not a dirty flasher, then you SHOULD have a paid copy of this app!!
I also use GSam Battery Monitor to watch what eats my battery. Its like Better Battery Stats, but more robust. Check it out.

Should have mentioned I've never been a CM10 user. I started off with Android only very recently with an S3 first and the dev wasn't there for a daily driver, then I swapped that in for a Note 2, so again, little dev atm. And then i757, so again, even less dev.

4.3 on AT&T S4, Will we loose MOBILE DATA toggle in Notifications Panel?

I was looking at an AT&T Galaxy Note 3 last night as someone was asking some tricks to it. I told them if you turn off your mobile data thru the notification panel you can save a lot of battery loss, so i showed them how quickly they can do that on the S4. I looked at their Galaxy Note 3 and that MOBILE DATA toggle was missing from the page of icons for the Notification Panel.
This is a big one for me before i upgrade to AT&T's latest. I suppose no one knows now if we will see the same icon missing at this time. Just a heads up.

I did when I flashed a 4.3 rom, turning off mobile data was a key tool I use to monitor my phone I don't know why they'd take this step backwards but this was my solution. This app was a great discovery.

Ah OK
As I said, I dont think screenshot is from the North American version; International Note 3 has the toggle
Im gonna wait before updating to 4.3 anyway, it would be pretty stupid to remove it, makes no sense
I have tried two different ROMs based on leaks of MJ6 and both were missing the data toggle. I haven't tried any of the MJ5 versions.

I think saving battery by turning off mobile data will be an individual thing. I ran into issues on my previous Android phone by being too aggressive disabling mobile data with Juice Defender. I discovered that MMS was disabled unless mobile data was turned on, so if you do MMS, remembering to re-enable mobile data could be an inconvenience. And depending on the strength of the mobile data signal, your phone's radio may use more or less power to maintain the connection.
I find I have no battery issues just leaving most everything enabled on my GS4 (data, wifi, gps, gestures, etc.) I don't use many of the smart features, so I switch those off as well as nfc, sbeam and bluetooth.
thanks everyone. i decided to post this Q in the att forums as well . http://forums.att.com/t5/Android-Di...ll-it-be-missing-the-Mobile-Data/td-p/3761065

That is always an option on all android phones. The phone you were looking at just had the icon hidden. In the notifications panel there is a way to select which icons are shown.

I think what he is saying is that it looks like ATT may have had it removed. It is not in the 4.3 ATT leaked firmware for the i747 either, and NO option to choose it. So HOPEFULLY it is just due to a leak and not the full OFFICIAL firmware from ATT. Below are the ONLY choices to choose from on the S3 i747 leak. I have already tried the RESET and it is still not there. So it MAY be something ATT is taking out

Wonder what that reading mode does?
My mobile data button also went missing after the 4.3 update. Be that as it may, I wonder what world you guys live in that find a benefit to turning off mobile data? I find no benefit to doing that. Sure can't send MMS if MD is off. And I have yet to have any battery issues that would make me look for ways to stretch my battery life. OEM battery, stock ROM, Nova Prime launcher.

Reading mode changes the white to a more yellow color on apps it's enabled on when the toggle is turned on...you have to go to setting and select apps it effects.
As for the benefit...I like to use it when I'm running low on data...I have a 3gb plan but sadly that's not enough, I often get down to 100 mbs left so turning off data prevents background tasks from using up the last of my data...the main reason I eat up si much data is cause let is faster than any wifi I've ever been connected to...so more often than not I use lte instead of wifi

That, I can understand. But I was under the impression people were turning off data to save battery life, which doesn't make any sense to me (in my world).
I use my MD button to limit my data usage , not to save battery. .. I use that button more than Reading mode.

thanks. I hate Samsung for this dam downgrade.
what's up with business lately, all their upgrades are actually downgrade. has the world spin backward?
How to turn data on/off
Good news is that even with the mobile data button gone from the notification panel, it is still possible to turn the mobile data on/off.
To enable/disable mobile data:
1) Click the gear (Settings)
2) Click "Data Usage"
3) Check/uncheck "Mobile data" box.
Clearly, AT&T wants us to use more data and pay them overage fees or upgrade to a more expensive data plan. That's a pretty cheap trick. With AT&T now offering lower monthly fees when you bring your own phone, my next phone will run stock Android.

16 Things You Can Do In Android Lollipop That You Couldn't Do In KitKat !
After what feels like a long time since we saw the L Preview first appear, Google is now rolling out the final version of Android 5.0 Lollipop to its existing Z series.
You get to know the best version of Android yet by working through this selection of tips and tricks,
covering all of the new features, major and minor, that are built into the operating system.
1. Tap and go
When you're setting up your new Lollipop device for the first time, you'll be presented with the option to "tap and go."
This NFC-and-Bluetooth-powered data transfer lets you move all
of your Google Account details, configuration settings, data and apps
over to a new device just by placing your old phone or tablet against it.
Widgets and wallpaper are swapped over as well.
2. Use the flashlight
Flashlight apps have always been popular on Android,
so Google has decided to roll one into Lollipop to save you the trouble of having download a third-party one.
Pull down the notification drawer then tap the top bar to
reveal the flashlight app alongside other options like airplane mode.
The app will only appear if your device has an LED flash alongside its camera.
3. Prioritize your apps
Android 5.0 Lollipop lets you set up a list of important apps that
are allowed to disturb you even when most aren't.
Head to Settings -> Sound & notification -> App notifications
and you can choose to block each app or mark it as a priority one. Tap the volume slider on your device to activate priority
mode indefinitely or for one hour (a circle with a stripe inside will appear in the status bar).
4. Deal with notifications from the lock screen
In Lollipop all of your app notifications appear on the lock screen ready
for viewing. Not only that, but you can interact with them as well.
Swipe to dismiss, tap to reply and so on,
depending on the app in question.
A double-tap gets you into the relevant app.
Head to Settings -> Sound & notification ->
When device is locked if you want to hide sensitive alerts.
5. Pin apps
If you want to hand over your device to one of your kids or a friend,
you can "pin" them inside one single app.
First, activate the feature via Settings -> Security -> Screen pinning.
Then, when you activate the multitasking screen via the
square Overview button, you'll see a pin icon
appear in the lower right-hand corner
of the bottom app (drag it up if you can't see it).
Holding down the Back and Overview buttons is enough to
exit the pinned mode and get back to other apps. When you activate the pin,
you'll be asked if you want to use a code or pattern to unlock it.
This is tied to the same protection applied to your device,
so if your lock screen isn't protected by a code or
pattern then the option won't appear when you're pinning apps.
6. Jump to app settings
The lock screen really has been given a major overhaul with
the Android 5.0 Lollipop update,
and the improvements include the ability to jump
straight to an app's settings or information panel right from
the lock screen. Long-press on
any notification and (depending on the app) you'll see a cog icon (the app settings shortcut)
and an info icon (the app notification settings shortcut).
7. Predict battery life
New to Android 5.0 Lollipop is the ability to see how much time is
left before the battery runs out of juice,
or how long you need to wait before your device is fully charged up.
Tap on the battery icon in the notification drawer to see either
reading (the time-until-charged information also appears on
the lock screen a few minutes after you've connected
your device to a power source).
8. Search settings and networks
Google's search bar is getting more ubiquitous with each
passing version of Android, and in Lollipop
it's made it into the Settings app.
Tap the magnifying glass icon to use it.
It can be a quick way of finding a particular option
you're looking for, especially if you don't already know what menu or
heading it's under. You can use the same feature
to bring up saved Wi-Fi networks too.
9. Enter Guest Mode
Sharing devices with other people
(friends, colleagues, family members, distracted children)
can be a real pain, but Lollipop's new Guest Mode eases it somewhat.
You can access Guest Mode by dragging down
the notification drawer, tapping on your user account avatar,
and then selecting Add guest from the menu
(or just Guest if you've been through the process before).
10. Improve text legibility
If you were wondering if the Accessibility
menu within Settings would get overlooked
in the Android 5.0 upgrade, there's a new experimental feature
here called High contrast text.
Essentially, it gives white or difficult-to-read
text a black outline when it's being viewed on a light background.
It's applied to the "OK Google"
text inside the home screen search bar, for example.
11. Chromecast more quickly
There's an official Chromecast app from Google that
lets you screencast from any device running
Android 4.4.2 or higher, but the functionality
is built right into Android 5.0, which is great
news for anyone with one of the compact streaming
dongles to hand. It's right in the notification
drawer—tap on the Cast screen icon to locate your Chromecast and begin screencasting.
12. Add trusted devices
A trusted device is a specified Bluetooth or
NFC-enabled gadget that will automatically
disable the security code or pattern on your your
Android phone or tablet when it's in range.
This means you don't have to fiddle around
unlocking the Lollipop device when you're at home
or in the car, for example.
Head to Settings -> Security -> Smart Lock to set up the feature.
13. Hang a 'do not disturb' sign
This works a little bit like the priority app notifications we
mentioned earlier, but it's based around times and
days more than apps.
Go to Settings -> Sound & notification -> Interruptions
to set it up—it's perhaps best used overnight when
you don't want to be disturbed, but there is the
option to let certain contacts through as well as messages and alarms, if necessary.
14. Get back to your apps after a reboot
If you reboot your device in any version of
Android before 5.0, all of your recently opened apps
will disappear. In Lollipop, they're still present
on the Overview screen,
so you can quickly get back to a previous conversation
or website if you need to (not all apps
will remember exactly where you were in the app).
To remove a card from the list, swipe it away to the left or right.
15. Play Google's Flappy Bird clone
Like earlier versions of Android, Lollipop has an
Easter egg to unlock. Go to Settings -> About phone
then tap quickly four times on the Android version entry.
Once the Lollipop graphic appears, tap quickly on it several
times then finish with a long press to launch a
clone of Flappy Bird with an Android robot in place
of the bird. It's just as frustrating to play as the original too.
16. Save the battery
Android 5.0 Lollipop includes a built-in battery saver mode
that you can get to kick in at 15 percent battery,
5 percent battery or never (you can also switch it on and off manually).
It cuts off some background syncing
and vibrations and makes various other tweaks as well.
If you select Battery from the Settings app you'll find
the battery saver on the menu behind the three vertical dots.

Yoga Tab 3 Pro - post your tips and tricks to reduce lag.

As a happy yoga tab 3 pro user you will already know that your tablet hangs, freezes and can have some general lag all over the system! Very unsatisfactory (I actually love it by the way).
So if you have anything to share which you feel improved your over all user experience post it here.
here's my tip, freeze everthing! I used titanium backup and froze the apps that I don't use but were clearly using my ram.
uploading a couple of screen shots. One shows the apps that I have frozen and the other shows running apps.
So just look at was is running and if you don't need it freeze it! There was loads of crap running that I would never use.
Whole system feels alot snappier without a shadow of a doubt.

i knew it you were a hacker... that keyboard exposed you!
I highly recommend leaving system apps unfrozen. If you can't uninstall or disable it through the settings menu you shouldn't be removing it. That's why Google and Lenovo restrict apps from being uninstalled. Bloatware on the other hand should be nuked into star dust.
Edit: freeing ram also does nothing. The OS manages ram. If a foreground app needs more ram the OS allocates it. If there isn't enough(extremely rare. 2gb is a lot for a phone/tablet) the OS will automatically free ram from non-critical apps.

I can only guess from your response that you do not own a lenovo tab 3 pro, if you did you would know two things:-
Firstly Lenovo clearly do not know what they are doing or people would not have a tablet with fine hardware lagging all over the system..
Secondly, 2GB is clearly enough unless the clever developers at lenovo released the tablet with beta ware applications and a kernel that strangles your available ram by using 1.1GB for itself!!!
And lastly thanks for mentioning that people should be careful freezing system apps, i should have made that clear in my post. I have frozen all that is shown in my screen shot and have had no adverse effects.

Why would I post in a thread if I don't have the device? If you're having so many issues you should flash the stock rom in the root thread if you have root, or call Lenovo support. There is definitely something wrong with your device.
Are you saying your kernel is not hogging over a GB of memory?

Just found a way to set a custom image for the lock screen.
To set the lock screen image, you have to use Settings/Display/Wallpaper then LenovoWallpaper, and by default you can only select from the default Lenovo images.
To add your own image to this gallery, you'll need to be rooted, and install the Root Explorer app.
Copy your Lock screen image to your SD card, and create 2 more copies of the image file and add the following extensions;
<img>_land.jpg
<img>_land_small.jpg
<img>_port.jpg
Then copy these files using Root Explorer to /system/etc/localwallpaper
Also in the /system/etc/localwallpaper directory, you'll need to edit the customed_wallpaper.xml file to add a new line;
<wallpaper name="<img>_land"/>
Save and close the .xml file, and force close LenovoWallpaper app via Settings/Apps/All.
Now go back into Settings/Display/Wallpaper and launch LenovoWallpaper again, you should now see a new blank row at the bottom of the Lenovo images, which if you tap will load your image file, then just untick the Desktop option so that only the Lock screen image is changed.

Today I just had enough of all the freezes, lags etc etc and decided to give my pro3 back to the store. Fortunately I decided to give it a last chance. I copied most apps to memory card, did a soft reset (it switched off and refused to switch back on !!) Long long press on power button btw. ) Then enabled zooming in Chrome browser. To my surprise this bustard started working like a charm, no more lagging, freezing, no need to root, everything's seamless now. Lots of nerves it cost but eventually the tablet works like it should from the start.
"shadow-dozing"...
Just tick Settings/Power_manager/Background_app_management : a kind of "shadow-dozing"...
I also disable Google' stuff versus UC Browser (tailored for Android System Webview).
Battery Problem?
Hi Guys,
I had the Lenovo Tab 3 Pro, and returned it for poor battery. The estimations are subjective, but Aida64 reported a 4400 battery inside. I know there are 2 batteries, one of 4400 and one of 5800 or so. Can mine be defective? I guess it also had the battery drain over night issue.....I didn;t expect it to hold more than 4-6 hours of full-time use.
I returned it to get the Plus, and in this one, Aida shows a 2000 mAh battery.....
Should i drop them both, or get back to the PRO, considering that the reports are both false, and the battery will last as expected? I understand that the PRO should be better in terms of performance, despite being older?

I have a question for experts: which app can I use for downclocking CPU to 1440Mhz?
An user said downclocking to 1440Mhz doesn't slow the tablet. I tried nofrillsCPU, but it didn't regognize root; kernel adiutor doesn't save settings at reboot.
Thanks in advance.
