Hey guys,
Just picked up a Nexus 7 and was wondering if it's possible to listen to audio simultaneously via bluetooth AND the 3.5mm audio jack. The case for this would be so that my wife and I can listen to the same podcast or music together.
I don't have a BT stereo headset/receiver at this point to test with, but knowing the answer would better help me make a decision on what I need to buy. If this solution doesn't work, the other solution would be to buy a bluetooth splitter and two bluetooth receivers. I know we could just buy a 3.5mm splitter but I don't want one of us to be "leashed" hahaha.

Don't think you can do it unless u find a dev for it pal. When u put connection to jack that takes prevalence

Thanks guys - after reading more that does seem to be the case. As far as pairing two devices, one will still take precedence won't it? The only way around this, I think, would be to buy a bluetooth splitter that connects to the 3.5mm jack. And just have two BT headsets or receivers to pair to the splitter.

Hehe ya that's exactly what I thought... The galaxy s is a good device for music... Also heard the hissing sound but I think that depends on the audio quality of the music track u are listening to... The device s audio quality seems much superior to the ipod touch that I own.. Try listening to a music track converted from a cd or probably a wav file.. There shoukd not be any hissing sound in that.

It should be silent on the GS, it is on mine. What firmware are you on? The earlier ones had a problem with sound output via headphones, but thats been fixed for some time now in later firmwares...
I also find when listening to music not generally aware of this, but when I plug it into a mini jack socket in my car I get a high pitched noise for some reason I cant understand, anyone else get similar?
FWIK, you can't use regular earbuds or mini jack to connect to SGS. The headphone port is wired differently so that a normal earbuds or mini jack connector may not properly connect the ground wire, it connects to the mic-in instead.
There is a dedicated thread talked about this issue specifically.

Strange they put standard headphone port..
I`m using the Ritchofen JM9, with flac files, unfortunately, I hear the hiss even when music player is off..

Standard headphone port contains L and R signal only. Almost all cell phones contain mic-in in the port as well. So, no, it is not a simply standard headphone. From what I understand, only the US version, AT&T Captivate can use normal headphones.

Earbuds work fine with my sgs.
Do your earbuds have an inline mic because I had the same problem with mine. I found if I pressed the button the noise stopped, and when listening to music the it was louder and good quality.
The problem is that the connections on the earbuds are set up for an iphone headset.
You can get adapters to change between iphone headset and other cellphone head set.

I recently bought the Sennheiser MM550 which is one of the best BT stereo headphones out there. The Sennheiser website says you need apt-X codec support to fully enjoy audiophile-grade lossless sound wirelessly. Though I don't know what's in the Gtab 10.1 since the Samsung website only says BT 2.1 EDR, I can say the sound is amazing compare to what gets outputted from my HTC phone with the same song. The HTC phone also gives a little hiss and clicks here and there but the Gtab 10.1 is just flawless even at 30 feet out. Funny thing for lower end BT stereo headphones the HTC phone is fine. I have tried few others like the Sennheiser MM 200, motorola S9 and few Sonys. They all sound the same through both HTC phone or the Gtab 10.1.
I'm not too experienced on the Apt-X codec thing. Maybe someone with more knowledge in this area can comment on it, but now I'm re-encoding all my songs in 320kb or AAC just to fully enjoy the music. Awesomeness!!!

A2DP is done in the software BT stack (bluez), not in the BT chipset's firmware. Last I checked, bluez doesn't support apt-X, though I suppose it's possible that Samsung added that as a proprietary feature.
Haven't tried BT anything with mine. I would love to find a pair of stereo BT earbuds that are as comfortable as the wired Sennheisers I use with my phone. I can sleep with those in (fall asleep listening to podcasts via Google Listen) but it would be awesome not to have the frigging phone (or iPod) in bed with me.

Buy one of the many Bluetooth units that let you use your own 3.5mm headphones and jack the Sennheisers into that. The "dongles" run pretty small too these days, and are good for 6-8 hours on a charge.

I agree that the sound is good. I have the Tab connected to my car stereo using Microsoft Sync in my Ford Edge and the sound is outstanding.

Strong points compared to my Jabra BT3030 (The Dog Tag one):
1. Longer battery life, significantly.. My MW600 can last the whole day (morning, afternoon and night!) but my Jabra's dead by 6pm, just before nightfall
2. Louder output. The Jabra is significantly softer compared to the MW600. I tried listening through the 3.5mm jack and compared it with listening through the Jabra and I can say the Jabra is quieter. The MW600 sounds roughly as loud as when wired to the 3.5mm directly
3. Can remember up to 3 devices. I saved my Laptop, my Asus transformer, and my Bluetooth transmitter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002PU9U0E/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_6). I use the bluetooth transmitter when i want to listen from any music player with a 3.5mm output jack. The Jabra can only remember 1 device so it's a hassle switching audio sources.
4. Can pair media audio and phone audio to separate devices. This means that i can listen to music on my Asus transformer (connected via media) and still receive calls from my Galaxy S (connected via phone) all from one headset. I don't know how to achieve this on the Jabra.
5. MW600 has FM built in. IDK though if you'd want that.

Good to hear.. The bluetooth stack on my Galaxy S was horrible.. Lots of hissing and metallic noise.. It's good that they implemented a different bluetooth stack on the tablets.. I hope they did the same on the SGS2

Man, I was looking for some good BT headphones & I looked into how much your HF cost & $400s. Wow! Can you recommend a cheap HF? Tops 200s & is it really worth the price? I don't have an ear for audio so I'm not sure, a top of the line HF will benefit me or not.

Depends on how much you want to spend. If you want the top of the line bluetooth, you are best bet is Sennheiser. You can also get the PX 360 BT which is the same as the MM 550 I have except without active noise cancelling (ANC) and microphone for calls. If you want ANC without calling feature, you can get PXC 360 BT. The former ones are circumaural meaning covers your ears. If you want smaller over the ear, AKA supraaural, you can get MM 400, PXC 310 BT, or MM 450. Differences is BT, BT+ANC, BT+ANC+Calling. You can get these on Ebay for cheap. I tried out the MM 550 at Apple store and bought a 2 month old pair from Ebay for 280.
Another great choice is Nokia BH-905i which is about $170 on Amazon, it has BT, ANC, and calling features. I almost got it except it's silver ear mugs are too overthetop for me.
Sony DRBT50 is also circumaural with great reviews. I almost got it except I really wanted top of the line with ANC.
If you want decent quality, not audiophile quality, go with any of the Sony Bluetooth earbuds. They are all great. I have tried 3 of them. It's nice to hide your headphones in your short with Sony's form factor.
Always check out Ebay for great deals .

no, there a little more loundness ever if i set bass to low under aqualiser
i had to actually use an EQ with the dolby. thats how it evens it out for me.
I will try to connect it with HDMI cable to an ampli to have a look if there is a better sound
I found that ONKYO HTX 22HDX or YAMAHA YPS600 to connect my tablett with hdmi connector.
Do you think it's a good way to listen radio over internet and better than an external speaker with jack connection ?
I have the x-mini 2 and they sound good for me and they last me like 10 hours with one charge check them out you might like them to.
I'm using the akai isound that I got for free couple years ago. It sounds great! I'm not sure if they still make them.

I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure the speakers will need to support Bluetooth 5.0 for multi-stream audio.
That said, Chromecast/Chromecast Audio is probably what you're looking for. I have a few newer Sony speakers and it's built in... I have 4 speakers grouped in different ways to listen to (and control with Google Home) anywhere ?

To be honest you'd be much happier with Chromecast Audio if you use Spotify or Google Music. It streams the audio full quality over wifi and with much greater range. I find Bluetooth connections a lot more finicky and prone to drops. I only really use Bluetooth for headphones now.
But that's just my opinion!

Below is the workaround for the low headphones volume caused by Xperia’s notorious low jack voltage output. This solution will also allow you to use the headphones that previously worked with Xperia’s but stopped working on XZ Premium or iPhone headphones.
This is a UK centric guide but will also work if you can get hold of the HTC adapter in your country. Other adapters might also work but this one has confirmed high quality DAC and has been tested by myself.
Unfortunately this fix will cost you some money albeit very little (£5.95). Another downside is that you’ll have to use USB-C dongle instead of jack output for audio so you won’t be able to charge the phone and listen to music at the same time.
Step 1: Sign up to HTC Club which will give you a 35% discount

Oops! Sorry, didn't mean to take the glory I honestly didn't know about this post! I got HTC U11 for my wife and discovered it while setting it up.
I was actually looking for the solution to my Bose earbuds not working on XZ Premium and the loudness was an unintended consequence.
