Window rt or window 8 on nexus 7 - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know this is stupid. But since I saw Microsoft surface tablet feature the same tegra processor. Would it be possible for our nexus 7 to run window rt or window 8 pro too?
Just a curious thought.!

Been discussed in multiple threads. RT could theoretically work, assuming that someone put a substantial amount of time and effort into it and wasn't worried about potential legal repercussions. Win 8 is not designed to run on ARM processors.

{?} About MC4

Does anyone know why on my nexus 4 it shows the extra graphics/ effects but doesn't on my nexus 7?

GPU
its because the adreno 320 is a much better gpu then tegra 3 i think its about 2.5x stronger so if gameloft put max graphics on nexus 7 it would lag
Wrong by a long shot!!! Tegra is one of the best CPU's around, just gotta tweak it. Also for your answer try a different ROM and kernel. Should help!!

I own both a nexus 7 and N4 and the nexus 4 is a lot faster even with the n4 CPU @800 and n7 CPU @1500 its still faster than the n7 in graphics
EDIt: anyone with a brain knows S4Pro is a. much stronger soc than tegra 3 do you work for nvidia or something oh yeahs when's the last time nvidia released drivers that's right never
Is there any way to improve the graphics?

You can find modded APKs (I am not gonna link them) but 90% of the time they won't work. You can try editing some config file in the data directory. Dunno which though.

[Request] Port to BN NookColor

Says everything in the title! It would be pretty cool to get another OS running on this tablet.

yes right away!
This tablet can already run like 4 different operating systems. So it shouldn't be too hard.

So a link to the Sailfish source.

Window multitasking - framework or launcher?

I recently watched a video of window multitasking that was launched by rockchip. Here is what I am talking about:

It works extremely smooth. It would be nice to have it on our N7.

Great find!!
Personally I don't know why these features aren't available standard in then OS and we are left to deal with "multitasking". Hardware has been solid for over 2 years and the existence of mobile muti-core processors is yesterday's news, there is no reason why this couldn't been achieved sooner....
I think that developers took a back seat while hardware was on the rise, but we are im the middle of a stagnant hardware market and its time for software to pick up and get back in to the game.

Our hardware is at least the same performance wise as rockchip.

This is awesome!! Could it be ported?
Yeah. This would be fantastic to our nexus 7. Is there any chance to get this working on nexus?

is n4 / jellybean 64bit or only 32?

Just wondering since iOS 7 is now being released as a 64 bit operating system, whether they are playing catch up to android or whether they are taking a step ahead... not that it makes too much difference I guess, but just interested
Pretty sure it is 32 bit. Is 64 bit really even needed on a phone?

Off topic: Can you please share with us what makes you bored about this phone?
If you just want a faster device with higher resolution I would suggest LG G2/N5.

Be aware that LG ponies never see more than one update. Even the flagship device.

I feel like everything is a little "undercooked" now.
64bit CPU's are on the way.
4K Displays are in the discussion while the GPU's would still not be powerful enough to drive games on them in a serious way.
Nvidia and Qualcomm start adding new GPU features like Desktop Open Gl, Tesselation. Meanwhile Snapdragon's OpenGl Es 3.0 drivers are still broken and unusable.
Intel wants to enter the ARM market and could bring some really good CPU's.
It is time for the manufacturing tech to go below 28nm, which has been used for quite a while and is still used in Snapdragon 805 and Tegra K1. It could save some serious Watts.
The HEVC/H265 video codec is on the way, and until now only the Snapdragon 805 can handle it.
The European GPS System Galileo is supposed to start this year, yet none of the phones features support for it.
And then there is always the simple truth that the Nexus 4 is still incredibly powerful and fast.
You could argue, that tech always develops incredibly fast, but I will wait and see how it works out until 2015.
I made myself a list of "must have" features, before I buy a new phone again.
