[Q] CyanogenMod 10 for Nexus 10? - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I've been looking forwards to the Nexus 10 ever since it was announced and I've recently ordered the 32GB model, should be here before Christmas. I've always been a huge fan of CM10 on other devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 and was wondering if there was a planned release for CM10 for the Nexus 10? Or any other major ROMs similar to CM10?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2027991

Thanks for that

Non Nexus CM10 opinions

I currently own a Verizon Galaxy Nexus and I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.1. I understand that it's easy to develop for Nexus phones because their drivers are open sourced or something along the lines of that. Throughout the year I've owned it, I've had next to no bugs running CM. With that being said, I'm in the market for a new phone and I was thinking about the S4. I know that it hasn't been confirmed whether or not the S4 will get CM but running touchwiz is not an option for me.
Assuming that it does get CM, can it be expected to run as well as a Nexus phone? I've ran CM on other phones like an HTC Incredible 2 and Droid 4, and they were plagued with bugs. I don't know if anyone had any experience with the S3, but I heard CM10 didn't run any better on that than it did on the Galaxy nexus.

Since you are Verizon you would be getting the 9505 with the Snapdragon chip, According to CM founder who recently left Samsung CM should run perfectly well on it:
http://www.sammobile.com/2013/03/25/founder-cyanogenmod-steve-kondik-leaves-samsung/
Whether we get full support for all the extra sensors in the S4 in CM is a different matter, but only time will tell on that front.
I am also a Galaxy nexus owner upgrading to S4 which hopefully arrives tomorrow.
CM on Galaxy device < CM on Nexus device.
You already answered your own question. Samsung keeps some of the drivers closed, the camera driver for example. If you are absolutely against touchwiz I would wait for the N5, or pick up a N4 on craigslist for cheap.
I came from 2 years on a Nexus S. Adjusting to Touchwiz is interesting, but I am embracing it. AOSP was getting boring. Touchwiz has improved quite a bit even from ICS...

[Q] Wait for the next generation Kindle Fire HD or get the Nexus 7 (2013)?

Hi guys!
So I was wondering, the 2013 Nexus 7 model was recently released & it does pack in a lot of specs since it's new. I was thinking of going for it then I was wondering whether to wait for next KFHD. I've been reading rumours, it looks like overpasses the N7 in benchmarks and also will have much better/newer hardware (for instance, Snapdragon 800 CPU).
What do you guys think? Should I go for the Nexus right now or wait at least until the new Kindle gets announced? I reckon CyanogenMOD would be available later, so software ain't a problem.

[Request] Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition

Hey guys!
recently i bought a new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. The device is amazing!
The problem is that there isn't any vanilla rom for the tablet.
I'm a big fan of Paranoid Android, used and still using it on another devices of my.
I'll be more than happy to see a PA rom for that device (the Wi-Fi version).
Thank you very much for reading and for your great work!
Might want to post your request in your devices section where there are likely some devs willing to port it. You won't see anything official

YES it does... - 4.4.4 Nexus 7 (2012) Chromecast Mirroring, Not!

After getting an update for my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 the other day that finally gave me mirroring to chromecast support... I thought I would pull out my Nexus 7 (2012) and get it updated assuming it would be supported as well.
Upgrading my 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 was pretty painless but when I got the new chromecast app with the correct version, it didn't have the option.
Looking at the google announcement page, I see that the listed supported devices does not include the Nexus 7 2012, only the Nexus 7 2013 models....
Nexus 4
Nexus 5
Nexus 7 (2013)
Nexus 10
Samsung Galaxy S4
Samsung Galaxy S4 (Google Play Edition)
Samsung Galaxy S5
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Samsung Galaxy Note 10
HTC One M7
HTC One M7 (Google Play Edition)
LG G3
LG G2
LG G Pro 2
Argh...
The whole point of getting this tablet originally was for mirroring... and to find it still can't.
Not really using a tablet enough to really justify buying another that is supported, I will most likely just leave it along.
I do have the support with my Note 3 phone though and it works very well.
TO MAKE IT WORK:
Go to the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193 and give that a try. That made it work.

I test it and same result for me, worked well but no sound. I think we'll have to wait for an update.

I've restart my Nexus 7 (2012), and it work with sound now. But i don't make any change.
Got a chance to try this again and sound is working. Might have needed to reboot the tablet though I am pretty sure I tried that first.

Pure Nexus ROM ported to Nexus 10?

Hey guys, I've been running the Pure Nexus ROM on my Nexus 9, Nexus 7 and Nexus Player, and so far I've been thoroughly impressed. Initially it seems that it is very close to AOSP, and is thus very stable and usable.
Is there anyone who might port it to the Nexus 10? The N7 2012 came out in the same year and has an unofficial build. I'd love to see it on the 10. If not, I might actually learn to build it myself.
