[OFFICIAL JB 4.1.2] OTA - German ROM - Galaxy Note 10.1 General

Hi guys,
I have just received an OTA in the German ROM (143 MiB approx.).
It was saying that it will improve the stability.
Now I have Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
Have anyone else received this OTA?
I'm looking to see the changes...
I will upload a screenshot soon.
Thanks,
Ronan

Yay. Hopefully we get some great updates on snote app and the lag of keyboard.
Am going to download now too.

GREAT NEWS: the bug regarding the S-Note and the screen brightness is gone! I reduced the brightness to the minimum, took the S-Pen, started the S-Note, created a new Note and... the brightness remained the same
First bug: when you try to move the stock e-mail client window, it lags A LOT!
It just happen when you are viewing your e-mails. If you go to, for example, the configuration window, then the lag stops.

Awesome maybe this is why it's taking so long for the OTA to roll out worldwide
Edit: nevermind I was thinking it was 4.2

SamsungFirmware Only contains full Roms. Follow the instructions in these forums to do this and this Will also wipe your internal sdcard(not the external)
If you have never done this, read, read and read some more and follow instructions.
This is not a zip you can just flash.

So you have to do it with odin or mobile odin? And yes I've done it before but thank you for letting me know!
And the download was unsuccessful so I'll just wait for a flashable rom to come out

It will only wipe your sd card if you factory reset with stock recovery. Not by flashing a stock firmware with odin. Sometimes it does when performing OTA s and maybe with KIES. But i havenever flashed any firmware with Odin on my Note 10.1 that wipes my sd card, nor ICS or JB.

Hi. Is there a specific guide about how we can flash? I have flashed many phones in the past but not a tablet so what you are saying makes me worry in order to find the correct way.
Also after i flash this rom do I need to do anything else?
PS. I will use PC Odin.

Guys I recently updated my SGN to ICS when I saw the update OTA. But ever since then my note is draining the battery like anything. I see a lot of threads and topics everywhere which is very confusing.
Basically I am planning to go back to GB which was stable.
I never rooted my cell simply using it the way it came from Samsung so please let me know how to do it as I have no idea about kernels and everything.
I am attaching the screenshot of my SGN's phone details please check and guide me what do I do.
Hope someone will help me soon.

That's not your csc. Csc is 3 letters such as xeu for uk. You can check your csc by typing the following into the dialpad:
*272*emeicode*# where emei code is obtainable via *#06# in dialer
When you have it go to Dr K's thread and download the latest gb for that csc. If there isn't one available there is an alternative, but try that first.

Need for help guys
First of all a big thanks to all the helpful members of the XDA
Secondly I need more help from you guys.
As I posted earlier I want to go back to GB from ICS as I see LPY kernels are not safe plus ICS draining my battery.
My phone details
Baseband version:
N7000XXLPT
Kernel version:
3.0.15-N7000XXLPY-CL474507
[email protected] #3
SMP PREEMPT Fri May 4 04:49:06 KST 2012
Build number:
IML74K.XXLPY
CSC : DBT (my SGN happens to have multi-csc)
I don't even have a backup of my GB rom so cannot simply go back on my own so need your help.
Now the thing is as suggested by SpyderTracks I went to Dr. Ketan's thread but there are so many options which is really confusing me.
I searched there for GB rom matching my Phone's PDA and CSC but couldn't find anything except for ICS rom. So now can someone please suggest me what GB rom should I flash? If possible please share the links and steps here only please.:crying:
Also if I can root it later on.
Sorry if its bothering you pals but what to do I am helpless.

The lpy description in your pda relates to kernel version which is ics. If you look through Dr K's thread you'll see the roms are listed by kernel version and csc. The kernel version will obviously be different for gb such as kka (which is directly rootable). Also the gb roms are listed as directly rootable and not directly rootable.
So you can select any gb rom for dbt csc in the directly rootable section, stick it in the pda section of pc odin, and flash. It's easier than it sounds, just take your time with it. When it's flashed its worth rebooting into recovery (vol up, power, home) and do a full wipe.
Alternatively, a very kind soul packaged up some pre- rooted roms link here:

[Custom OTA Update] XXBLG6 to XXBLG8 Flash in CWM without losing root or recovery

Here are my custom CWM recovery OTA updates for the international S3
NOTE: For STOCK Rom users only. Your CSC must be I9300OXABLG6. If you have made any changes to files in the /system folder it will fail.
If like me your using a stock ROM rooted with custom recovery or kernel and want to update without downloading the whole ROM and risk losing root and recovery in the process. These modded updates are for you to save time, bandwith and frustration.
Current OTA update: XXBLG6 to XXBLG8
ota.update.all.XXBLG8.zip 4 MB
ota.update.no.modem.XXBLG8.zip 4 MB
ota.update.no.kernel.XXBLG8.zip 542 KB
ota.update.no.kernel.and.modem.XXBLG8.zip 541 KB
All the zips here will not replace your custom recovery or remove root. The no kernel and no modem zips are intended for users with a custom kernel and or want to keep their current baseband.
Tested and working on CWM 6.0.1.0 Touch and Chainfire's CWM 5.5.0.4
If you've got the OTA update notification nag, to get rid of it do this:
1. Using a file explorer with root permissions, I use ES. Go to /cache/fota ,In there will be the update.zip
2. Delete it or move it to your sd card.
3. Bring up the updater from the notifications and press install and OK, it should fail.
4. Notification nag gone.
Older OTA updates:
Austria (T-Mobile)
ota.update.XXALE8-XXBLFB.CSC-MAXLF2.zip 72 MB
ota.update.no.kernel.XXALE8-XXBLFB.CSC-MAXLF2.zip 67 MB
If you have got any older OTA updates, could you make them available for download so I can convert them.
Nice work mate, I'm sure a lot of people will find this very useful.

Its in the '/cache/recovery' folder. That status 7 error means it failed the assert test for the model fingerprint I believe. You can only flash this update on a XXBLG6 rom and your CSC must be I9300OXABLG6. To check what ROM and CSC your using, do this.
1. Open your keypad dialer
2. Press *#1234#
3. It should show your ROM and CSC. AP = ROM and CP = Baseband.

can we flash this zip from samsum's stock recovery by selection update from external sd card. The Zip file included following files.....(screenshot attached).
I have read somewhere on sammobile you can flash with recovery, but i have practically never did it. and have no idea about it. You can flash it at own risk.
But you must be on stock ROM( I think only on full stock DDLR6). Other thing this update contains Kernel, and by that way putting device on unsafe kernel. and yes wiping will be dangerous too.

Wiping on stock kernel without CWM is apparently safe.
Wait for sammobile or CheckFus to upload the entire Rom. It's better to flash then lest one might get bricked following incorrect procedure.

It is probably safe (said by entropy). So i dont like to advice still.
and after flashing device may not boot properly then you have option to wipe is CWM only.
Otherwise have to follow routine procedure.

other thing this upate having kernel (and may be without recovery, and so i guess if you have non stock recovery won't work any more), so it will leave you unrooted (i still doubt it work on rooted), and on unsafe kernel.
so there are full chances to mess device if you are just away from base ROM(DDLR6)
In sort, leave this for Flashing maniac only. and routine user should wait for regular update,.
will they release LR6 with update integrated ?
this update looks interesting .....

[Q] How to: Official Update to XXUBMEA?

Hi folks, I wanna update my device to I9505XXUBMEA (for App-to-SD), but don't know how to exactly. I want to do it in the most legal way, without erasing anything (Apps, Data, Settings etc.) on my S4.. So can someone tell & show me the best way how to do this please?
Btw I'm from the Netherlands and got my phone here, so I don't know if I can use or need the Stock Firmware and/or Kernel File from Germany's XXUBMEA update and if it's compatible without bricking my phone or losing data, because I havn't seen any I9505XXUBMEA update for my country yet..
Thank you in advance.

No, nothing will be deleted unless you do a factory reset.
BTW: I misread your post haha, thought you said ''will it delete my data''.

Ohh thank God.. i seriously was doubting now to continue any further, since I would've to Re-apply all setting and download all Apps and Data once again.. :good:
Now, I dont know what the Kernel is used for.. but do I need to get that also? After I have the 1.6 GB sized Stock Firmware (aka ROM right?), I can start installing?
I'm downloading I9505XXUBMF8 (first one on the list, most recent one) than from the Official Rom Collection (Thread).
I've got myself Odin also (File name: AndroidJinn.Com.Odin307, Size: 1,15 MB) like you said. (Please confirm if its the right one)
If it's not to much asked, could you write within a few sentences, the steps on how to get trough the installation and what I need to do before starting, like: do I need to backup anything or does my phone have to be USB plugged to my pc the whole time etc.?

It depends on the service center. Some dont look to csc if it is stock. And some look. Any way you can flash your original firmware back.

If it can accept another sim so it is unbranded firmware.
Any way, you can flash any stock for your I9505. Kernel is included in the firmware, no need tp flash it seperately

Another question: I have USB debugging turned on, but do I also need to select/apoint a App to it or not? May look like a newbish question, but I want to do everything correctly, w/o damaging my phone.. if you get me.

Can someone tell me why again XXUBMF8 is better than XXUBMEA?
I mean what are the differences compared to one another,
the only thing I know is that they both support App-2-Sd.
Which is actually ofcourse the most important thing to know,
but what other <better improved> features does the XXUBMF8 (DBT) have than XXUBMEA (DBT)?
And how are overall user experiences with both versions?

To be installed with CWM or Stock Recovery. It may work with rooted stock UGMJ9 firmwares, but NOT with deodexed or customized odex-files. It will remove Root and custom Recovery after the update because of the Kernel Update. Installs Update, Modem and Kernel.

First, you need to have stock MJ9 firmware. Then download the update.zip and place it in the root(base) folder of your external sd card. then shutdown the phone and unplug it. Display and everything should be black. Now were going into Recovery Mode. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube btw. Press first Volume Up and hold it, then home and while youre holding this, press the power button. release the power button when the phone goes on but still hold the 2 other buttons till its in recovery-mode. then select "apply update from external storage" and choose the update.zip. The rest should explain by itself.

BUT if you backup your EFS "now", you will always be able to reflash old EFS v1 partition and revert to old modems.

No and no. Like the name CWM says (ClockWorkMod Recovery), its for custom recoveries. And it just wipes the system partition.

he is just stating we dont need multiple threads with the same content.
also like faryaab stated earlier in my dump, the thread cannot have the "[Official firmware]" tag, what you have is a repacked dump and an ota update package.
