In settings > voice make sure "Hotword Detection" is checked

It's not there?

Here is mine. I think you have to choose US English for it to work.

That makes sense.. I found the UK voice way cooler so I changed it back to us now

S beam nexus 7 and galaxy nexus

How do I use s beam on the nexus 7 and galaxy nexus I can't get it to work

Well s beam is on the Galaxy SIII, but you can use android beam by making sure that you have NFC is turned on in the settings and android beam is also. Then you can tap the back of your phone against the upper part of the back of the Nexus 7

On both devices, GO TO SETTINGS > WIRELESS & NETWORKS > MORE > Check NFC
Hold the back of the Gnex up to the TOP RIGHT CORNER of the BACK of the Nexus 7.
You should hear a sound and prompt to 'beam' whatever it is. I tested with a webpage, works great.
Hope this helps. :good:
Weird isn't working maybe its the ROM I'm using jelly belly

I got it to work, also. It's very cool. Hold your two NFC devices together, back to back (make sure your phone is lined up with the top edge of the tablet). When they chime, look at the one you want to transmit from and touch the screen. Your information should transmit.

Has S-Beam been ported to the GNex? I think that's the root of the question. S Beam can transfer large files quickly while android beam is slow and only allows small files.

Lg's voice assistant? Anyone know if its good?

Just want some input I use Google now regularly but I'd like a more integrated one.

[Q] Activate Google Search?

Coming from a Note 1 where I had a nice capacitive button to activate search.
Really don't want to keep a widget on my home screen just to get to Google Now/Search, but can't figure out how to map a hardware button to it.
Help?
What about a custom launcher with user defined functions invoked by a gesture?

Ya, I suppose that fixes all my problems. I was trying to stick with touchwiz for once, but I've finally bit the bullet and went back to Nova.
Thanks

[fix] android m "ok,google" working

Turn off WiF and keep it off
-reboot
-go to google now screen and tap the mic and let it record and search something
-then go and record your voice three times for "ok, google from any screen" setting.
-after recording your voice you can use WiFi again.
Done.
Now your hot word detection and mic will work.

Mine only half works on M. It works no problem when the screen is on, but only works when the screen is off if it's charging.

As far as I know, screen off doesn't work at all.

Trusted voice

Anyone else noticing "Trusted Voice" isn't limiting the unlock to your voice?
Was sitting around with a friend the other day and his OK Google set off both of our phones.

It's been that way for a while, I can imitate my friends voice. Also doesn't help that people tend to hang around other people that sound and look like themselves.
