Hey everyone, I just want to know that I have seen three data connections on my w8 I just want to know that H is a type of 3g or 2g. & which one is the best & worst.

I googled & found that H stands fpr HSPA
& the funny things is the operator is charging me @ 2g rate while I am using H
& which one is better H or 3G

I did it like this:
1.go to settings ->wireless & networks ->mobile networks -> network preferences & switch to WCDMA only
2. Uncheck 'use only 2G networks'
3. Now wait for sometime till signal changes & u will see H instead of E on the status bar
4. If the signal vanishes after switching to 'WCDMA only' switch back to 'GSM only'

Is it the Canadian vibrant i9000M? Either way the i9000 general section has info on that phone and carrier.

no its t mobile vibrant actually wind is like t mobile using different signal thing etc i loved your rom btw

which modem are you using tho? and how is your signal etc? i started to hate wind since i keep losing connection
I am using kb5 and signal is not bad... Just data is slow..... If you are having issues then its your location

Got ya. If you're just having connection problems as far as signal strength then check out the super build prop tweak thread. The tweak comes with my rom but individual settings can be adjusted. You can add that tweak and play with it on any rom.

So it seems that tmobile has upgraded their network to include 1900mhz, if this is so would it be possibke to now have voice +3g on the tab with a comparable modem? Or is this still wishfull thinking and need to keep using modem switcher.

Are we talking about 3G signal or 3G internet?
If internet, check your APN settings.
Also, make sure, you got baseband 72 or 77 installed.
Fixed now. I rebooted my phone a few times. Btw it was the internet .

Buy an active signal booster (ie a cell phone signal repeater).
Call your provider and compplain about coverage in the area.
Hold your phone 'right' lol.
Usually if you get bad signal in one area and good in another not much can be done at the device level to get better signal. You can try to use different bands and such but most times it wont help. Search for AWS on i337m to try, but I would guess it wont help.

The only thing I've been able to do about little to no signal is buy a repeater. I bought a zboost yx540 (I think that's the one I have lol) and went from 0-1 bar of EDGE to 2-5 bars of 4G. I've also done signal tweaks with the app android tweaker pro and it seems to have helped.
