Nexus 7 won't mount - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Recently I'm not able to mount my Nexus 7 on either my desktop or laptop, my laptop has windows 8
so does my desktop, i did however try ubuntu but still no luck.
It only started recently.
my desktop recognizes my Nexus 7 in devices manager but that's it.

}
I believe this started after i installed a custom ROM, but i don't think it's related because
i can't even mount it in recovery
EDIT
I can get it to sort of mount on ubuntu
however trying to access internal storage brings up the same window you see
in the screenshot in another window and so on

Found out that if i connect it as camera (PTP)
it shows up
but as soon as i switch to MTP nothing.

OMFG!! FIXED IT!!!
Had to update ADB drivers

If you are using the original cable and a good usb port it is likely a driver problem. Try uninstalling any nexus driver in device manager, plug it in and let the drivers re-install.

adb devices
Hey
I have installed about every driver package I could find of the Oppo find 5, but when I execute the "adb devices" command the device isn't being listed. The device is recognized in device manager and I am able to "see" my other devices (htc one s, nexus 7) in adb. Usb debugging is enabled altough it doesn't show warn me about it in the notification bar.
I got the same problem, my oppo find 5 is not recognized as a device in eclipse on my Mac. Though I can see it as an external storage, so I guess the drivers are installed.
USB Debugging is on of course.
Any idea what I could try so it's gonna be recognized in eclipse?
I am currently experiencing the same issue..i tried installing PDANet and it didnt work.. I will try and see if I can find a resolution.
Here I uploaded the drivers: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21558454/Oppo_Find5_x909_drivers.zip
This is for Windows

[Q] adb unauthorized ; delete RSA key

Hello,
My adb shows me that my device is unauthorized. as I see it, it happened because I did not accept my computer as reliable.
so, I need to reset it in order to get the adb authorization popup again. (such as the picture below).

}
anyhow, I figured the RSA keys are in /data/misc/.android. sadly I can get to this directory only on root , sadly I can't root without my adb working
Does anyone has any idea? except of moving computer which I can guess would solve the problem.
I tried to open VM with no luck, I can guess that the device still has my computer RSA fingerprint and not my VM.
Try reinstalling drivers on your PC. Worked for me.

Already did it, not working. I removed the rsa keys from a different computer. sadly no luck.
also removed the keys from my computer (the one its not working from).
any other ideas why I don't have the prompt?
Backup and factory reset your device.

Nexus 7 ADB works Fastboot does not

Hey XDA! I'm trying to revert from cyanogenmod to stock android and I'm running into what seems to be a driver issue.
I will got through the steps I've done to better explain.
1. Followed Nexus Root Tool Kit driver instructions.
2. Do driver test.
3. ADB passes
4. Fastboot fails
Every time I go into my bootloader my computer says as follows
USB Device Unknown(A request for the USB device descriptor failed.)
Some other information about my deviecs:
Desktop:
Winodws 8 64x

Cyanogenmod Nightlies

You need to update the drivers. I had the same issue. Search xda. There is a thread for this solution. I don't have the link off hand right now.

Can't boot VS980 into Download Mode

I'm trying to TOT my VS980 like I have countless times for replacements and for some reason the usual method to get into download mode doesn't want to work. I power the phone off fully, hold the volume up button, then plug in my USB. It says download mode for a moment but then goes to a black screen and my PC opens about 10-15 different windows telling me "I need to format the disk in drive E: before you can use it."

I've tried the usual things, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and haven't had any luck in case its driver/PC related. The phone is currently running DR87s Euphoria 5.1.1 build and I have no issues with ADB working or getting into the devices file system when its booted.
Any suggestions? I've been looking around for quite some time but can't find much on my specific issue.
Right now you have bricked your phone, however all you have to do is download srk tools and unbrick your phone.

Anyone having trouble with USB TYPE-C port transferring data on Windows 10?

Pretty sure it's not a driver problem, have the latest installed already.
Every time when I connect my 6P to my laptop through type-c port, a prompt that says USB device not recognized
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
will show up.
However, if I switch to usb 3.0 port, it works like a charm.
No problem here running Win10 Pro and using USB 2.0 ports. Connects up with no issues and transfers files just fine.
Using a gigabyte board with native usb c port and all works just fine. I would hunt down the driver from the specific hardware manufacturer.

I had this problem briefly on my Windows 8 laptop. It turned out that Windows was using the wrong driver and I had to forcibly uninstall the driver (via Device Manager).
I then detached the 6P and reattached it. Windows was then able to pick the correct driver and everything worked fine after that.
