The Galaxy Nexus... Oh wait

I'm getting the droid DNA in January after the way Samsung treated t this phone I don't want another Samsung phone ever again plus the DNA has more processors so in my book its probably a tiny bit better but probably nothing noticeable.

SgIII as of now, I'm not looking to get new phone till I have time to play with it lol
I'm taking next quarter off to get the rest of life in order. This year has been a lesson in all aspects.
Yet by the time I'm ready for a new daily device there will be more options

GS3
I have had the Verizon GS3 for several months. I could not wait for updates so I started flashing. I managed to keep unlimited data. Going forward I might go for the next Nexus because of faster updates.

Eh, even if I could renew, I don't think I'd leave my epic. I love the size, love the keyboard, love everything about it. I think I'd pass on the Nexus.
I'm passing on all phones till next year. I'm more than happy with my epic. When they have the next great leap in features is when ill get a new phone unless I break the screen again then maybe sooner
Early 2012 is said to have Quad-Core phones, Quad-Core tablets in Fall 2011.
Definitely waiting for some quad-core action.
if it was 50 bucks no upgrade or service contract id buy it..
but im waiting for the next nexus or the quad core phones..

Because SamSprint will deliver timely updates for the S2? After the Moment and the Epic, I think I'm going to bet on a Nexus next time. I'd rather have timely updates than better hardware specs. The Nexus S 4G specs are more than fine for what I use my phone for and would certainly get me through two more years.

im the same way.. im tired of having to be at the will of carrier and phone makers for my updates. im defiantly getting a nexus device as my next device. i was going to hold out for the nexus prime. but seeing as quad core is at early 2012 , i might just hold off or get the prime and sell it for the quad core device.
I just got a Nexus for my dad. Yay!
I got my nexus s from sprint at $100. Now i contacted sprint today and they credited me the difference.

[Q] What do you think is your end of life for the epic?

Hey everyone,
Just wondering if people have an idea of how long they'll stay with there Epic? I don't think I've ever loved a phone as much as I love this one but I'm sure I'll be tempted away by something new this summer when my renewal credit is up.
What about you?
Whenever quadcore lte phones roll out ill be upgrading ..... I actually have a two year upgrade though its only been a year which was very tempting but I can wait

This phone has had such great staying power so far..it does just a little bit of everything just good enough that i'm not tempted to change one bit yet. The only reason for me to change is improved hardware/design plus I think I'm ready to ditch the KB.

Samsung Note LTE for sprint or a quadcore.. whichever I fall in love with first!
Waiting on SGS3. Eligible in July. May just go for the Nexus if the 3 looks like a long wait on Sprint, though.
Waiting for LTE with a hardware keyboard... just don't like the idea of using up all my screen with a keyboard.
I may be waiting forever because these cheap manufacturers don't want to make them anymore.

I just got the epic last week. Running it on virgin mobile. Can't beat $25 bucks a month
Ill probably run the epic for another year or so. Its a still a great phone and a big upgrade compared to my old optimistic v.
I am still getting a Google phone... like I said before, I don't want to be pissed off by samsung's lack if updates, closed source ROM, or HTCs locked bootloaders. I would actually like a Google phone on stock... I don't care if there is 65 core... single core is fast enough and dual core is amazing. Higher on a mobile phone is just stupid until software advances.

The Epic its the first phone that I've had for more than six months and not thought " I REALLY want a new phone!" It's been almost a year and a half now. I might upgrade to the G Nex if/ when out comes to Sprint or a quad core lte...
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
I see little reason to upgrade to something else until LTE is deployed in my area now that CM9 is on the horizon.
I might finally be ready for a phone without a keyboard. The Galaxy Nexus keeps calling me.
I will never get rid of my epic but if sprint gets galaxy note2 I will have to upgrade and keep epic for fun. Even better would be a nexus note.

I just read that the galaxy nexus is coming out April 15th. Oh....decisions!
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
That's a tough call. Galaxy Nexus is an amazing phone, and should be available sometime mid april, the 15th if the rumors are accurate. As a launch day Evo 4G owner, I think it's time for an upgrade. On the other hand, the S3 is an even more amazing phone. HTC One X is potentially an amazing phone, but the latest rumors are saying it's only going to have a dual core on Sprint, so not really worth waiting for me. I need to know more before I can make a decision. If no news has come out by the Nexus release, I may just go with that.
Man i'm drooling over the alleged specs of the S3, but just like the rest of you, i'm debating between the Nexus in April and the S3 whenever that happens (i think the latest rumor is middle/end of June?) I really REALLY want some new mobile hardware, but i think the Nexus is old news. I just gotta summon the will power to wait a few more months!
I'm going to wait for the S3 especially if it comes with a 1080 display.

Samsung Galaxy S 3

SGS3 is my new phone come July 27th. Who's coming with me?
My contract is up in December, so I'll have to see what prices are then... but that phone looks pretty nifty. Or swag. Or siiiick. (Not sure what the proper term is these days)
I'm in the same boat as guster. 12/1 renewal. I'm gonna hold off and see what is out, then. Or if I can get one on ebay do I don't have to renew. Butt, yes. As things stands now, I definitely want an s 3

Not me!
I will not be buying a samsung phone ever again because of the experience with this one. Samsung does not care about their customers at all. When my upgrade comes I am going to the droid 4

Well I'll be starting some development on the SGS3 with some cool stuff involving Microsoft on{X}. I can't wait!
It wasn't Samsung's call not to update the Continuum, it was Verizon's. Samsung actually went behind Verizon's back and leaked us some updates way before Verizon pushed the OTA. I understand the frustration, but focus your anger at the right company.

From epic to...SIII or Note II?

Going to get my new phone in the AM, and I have a dilemma..
My wife is getting the SIII..that's a known factor.
I however am torn between SIII and NoteII...main problem being they aren't carrying any NoteII's at Radioshack right now, have to order them, and no telling how long it will be until it comes in (maybe by monday, maybe later).
Should I go ahead and get the SIII or wait for the NoteII? Anyone have any ideas on how the development community is going on these devices? From my eyes they look about the same...but honestly haven't had the time to do an in-depth research for it..
Your opinions would be appreciated.
I'm almost in tha same boat as you but mine is Note 2 now or wait for the S4. If I had to choose between those two i would go S3 from what I kno a lot of the devs from this went to that phone so it would be familiar names there and I'm sure the community is bigger but I haven't look to much into myself jus an opinion

I know xboxfanj went to the Optimus G. But most of the other devs went to the S3

Note 2! it will change your LIFE!
Well wouldn't you know it, I went to upgrade on the 23rd, and the Note II promotion had ended on the 22nd...jumped from $199 to $299...so had to opt for the SIII I wish I had been able to catch that promotion, but the SIII is pretty amazing, and my GOD the number of ROMs to try out are just mind-blowing, I think I'm on my 6th or 7th right now, and still have another 4 to test..development over there is crazy!

Ahem (just bought the SIII)...
No seriously, I bought the Epic when it was old (actually paid more for it than I did the SIII), and had it until, well, last thrusday...I bought the Asus TF101 right after the Prime launched...I don't like buying 'new' hardware, you never know what kind of bugs are going to be discovered for it. And the SIII launched last May, still quite new, at least to me
In the case of the Prime, it was a disaster and was quickly reissued as the TF700T and phased out..and my TF101 is still kicking hard..
Also, I am not a dev, so I'd rather buy a device that has a dev community already well-established. Something to consider, how long do you want to wait until someone discovers a root exploit and gets a good ROM on your device, unlocks the hotspot, and OH CRAP here's an OTA that bricks your device at worst or at best breaks root and you have to wait again to get root established before development can resume..
On the other hand, all your friends will think you are cool for the first month when you have a brand new, just-launched device that no one else has...I don't have many friends, so I go for the tried-and-true. Not the shiny-and-new.
I bought the Note 2 and returned it after a week. Happily back on my Epic now. lol
