[Q] Japan Razr M 201M fastboot flashed Verizon JB rom + AU baseband lost all singal - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I think i did a stupid thing is to flash verizon JB rom + AU baseband without doing any backup, well there is no root available for Japan version yet, so i should never think of it. But eventually i did that anyway and now the phone lost all phone services.
I m in HongKong and trust that Aussie/Euro/Japan/Non-Verizon stuff will help.
What should i do now? i can think of:
1. I can get QPST connected but need someone to provide the QCN file to restore or tell me how to config those dozen of config pages.
2. should i wait for any fastboot rom other than verizon that someone can share.
3. root the phone and seek for any software unlocker apk....

I tried QPST in normal 201M, but did not recognize it. Because I am weak in English whether I may reply in Japanese.

A few basic questions I am still confused about

Hi,
I am tasked with making a Friends Galaxy Apollo ( I5801) usable.
She bought it in Thailand and it is SIMlocked and currently running Eclair (2.1)
1) I first want to SIM Unlock it. I have seen multiple methods for this
This thread has a discussion :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339705
I will take a look at the youtube video first, but I am concerned that I will lose my IMEI. This seems to happen a lot. How do I back it up? I have seen instructions to backup the /efs folder and others that include a DD command. Which is the most reliable?
2) What is the easiest rooting method? Does SuperOneClick work? Do I even need to root to unlock only?
3) How do I then install a working 2.2? Is there such a thing as an Official 2.2 for the I5801? Otherwise, what is the best way to STABILITY?
4) Other Samsung phones offer packages ODIN or Heimdall ROMs that are pre-rooted in order to do a one operation (sometimes one-click) root/upgrade operation. Is there such a thing for the Apollo?
Thanks.
I tried running a search, and waaay too much confusing crap came back. I have owned several HTC, Mot and Samsung phones and am usually pretty good with this stuff...but I am just plain confused about this phone.
Any help would be appreciated

SuperOneClick is the works fine for me
For 3) www.sammobile.com/showthread.php?t=12 Scroll down to asuan firmware. Im using dxjpc as it is the latet 2.2 version for asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia etc other than India. Flash usin odin but do not flash the bootloader as there would be a possibility of a hardbrick.

1.I backup the /efs folder and also manually copy the files for additional safety.
2.if you are on 2.1, z4root works great. get the apk from here, install and root. thats it. you need to root at least to backup the /efs folder.
3.go to samfirmware.com and search i5800. install any of the latest ROMs.
4.Some "stock" ROMs themselves are pre rooted. Dunno how. Install them if you want. (eg. JPM)
Ok...my phone is now rooted and SIMunlocked. Pretty easy once you get over the fear of corrupting your IMEI data.
Now I have another question:
I REALLY want to make sure I don't brick this phone, but I think I want to upgrade it to
2.2...sooooo:
How can I be sure where the phone is from and therefore which firmware to flash?
I *know* the phone was purchased in Thailand, but I can't find the firmware currently on the phone referenced anywhere for the Apollo.
The firmware baseband is DXJG2 and the build number is DXJH2. A quick google search yields only hits for a "Galaxy Beam" ??
Am I asking for trouble flashing this puppy? My friend probably does not care that much about ECLAIR vs. FROYO...I just think that FROYO is a lot more modern.
I am just afraid that I have a freakish phone in my hands and that it won't react in a "nice" way.
Any pointers?
If you do not flash the bootloader it is not possible to hardbrick the phone. Only a softbrick is possible and a reflash will solve the problem. Android firmwares have been shifted to sammobile.com and samfirmware does not provide them anymore if im not wrong. In froyo you will have a bit more space for appilcations and since your friend in from Thailand(in asia) i suggest u flash an asian firmware. Dxjpc is working find for me
Sent from my GT-I5801 using XDA App
u neednt be afraid of bricking the phone. and it is not necessary that u flash only asian frimwares. look around the forum to see which f/w works best for the majority of people and flash it. before flashing, make sure u remove boot and sbl files from the downloaded f/w. then u have 0% chance of hardbricking the phone.
cheers

[Q] i9505 "no signal" after 4.42 Google ROM upgrade

Hi,
I own a GS4 - i9505G - with google ROM edition v 4.3.
yesterday I tried to upgrade the ROM to 4.42 (Google ROM clean version without any tweaks, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341026).
After the upgrade, the UI & ROM seem to work fine but I have no carrier signal.
When I perform the mobile networks operators' search I can see all networks and by clicking "Choose automatically" I managed to renew the signal. However, after a very short while the signal is lost again (manual joining to the network does not work at all).
I searched and found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
and this lead me to use ODIN and flash the modem (twice, as recomended).
I used the modem file exactly for my phone base version which is: XXUBMH1.
However, even after flashing twice - still no signal....
Since I had Nandroid backup (always VERY highly recommended) I returned to the original 4.3 ROM version and then everything worked fine.
I also made another try to identify the issue and installed the 4.42 Google ROM edition which is not the Google clean original version and performed a factory wipe and cleaning everything
(this time the ROM I used was downloaded from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2557353).
However, same story and no signal....
I would very much appreciate any idea how to solve this issue.
By the way - from December I began to receive a notification on the device that an upgrade ROM was downloaded requesting me to click to install. However, when I tried to operate it the process always failed in the first steps (don't remember the error code). If anyone can direct me where to delete the file that was downloaded - it will also be very helpful due to the low free memory on the device.
Thanks in advance for all the help!
I now that for some roms you need to use TWRP recovery, or you will get "no signal".
Try flashing the rom with TWRP recovery and see if that solves your problems.
thanks but no cure yet

Thanks for the advice!
However, it seems that the cure is elsewhere. I had the PhilZ 6, and now converted to TWRP, but issue stays the same.
It appears that the signal is not totally lost, but the network connection can only be maintained for a short while, and only after a reset and when choosing automatic network registration. Soon after the signal disappears.
All other wireless aspects (WIFI, BT) seem to be working fine like before.
I am still breaking my teeth for a solution here...
Thanks.
Why are you installing a rom for the i9505 on a i9505G?
That would probably explain your issues.
You say that your phone is I9505G, but both of those roms are for I9505. Don't ever do such thing. You're lucky you didn't brick your phone. Check your IMEI
thanks for the note

Indeed I didn't notice the difference and thank you for this very important note.
I would like to elaborate - my phone was bought as a standard i9505, but I installed a clean Google Edition ROM on it and then checked under "Settings"/"About phone" menu to see the Model number "GT-I9505G".
I am now not so sure that this is the true model of I9505G, even though this is the information shown on the phone. If the model relates only to original Google Rom Edition phones then I am wrong and probably confused you.
My IMEI is: 3576********. Can you help me with the true definition and the files that I need to install?
thank you for the important note

First of all know this: You should never reveal your IMEI, it's not safe. Edit your post and hide your Imei number.
Now check again if the Imei that you see inside settings> is the same as the one from the back of the phone, under the battery. If its the same then you are fine. As for the device model, you can also find the model under the battery, and if it says that it's a i9505G than that should clear all the confusion.
My advice would be go back to stock official using ODIN. Grab the latest firmware from sammobile. It's always the safest thing to do, and it should handle all the mess
its a I9505

Many thanks for your message - even though I feel stupid both for not thinking to check "under the hood" and also for publishing the IMEI (now fixed).
It appears that my phone model is I9505. This validates my initial question, how to update the Google Edition ROM (clean version) from 4.3 to 4.42, but avoid the loss of network signal... I will try to take it to a local store and solve my unknown issues with the upgrade by paying a few bucks.
Many thanks anyway!

My last guess is that you are using an incorrect modem. Are you still on the old bootloader?
If you are already on the new bootloader, just flash the latest modem available. If it is correct that you have XXUBMH1, then you are using a modem that is to old for 4.4.2.
this is very true

I think that this is the correct problem identification and that my modem file is not updated for 4.42.
I tried to flash the updated modem file for XXUBMH1 version (in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025), but this did not solve the problem (even after flashing it twice).
Could I flash a different modem file than the one set for the phone base version which I have (or do I risk bricking my device)? and does the base version change after installing the new ROM (I forgot to check this after the new ROM was installed)? If yes then I will re-install it and flash the new modem file which should solve the problem.
Thanks for helping out.
Which modem did you flash? And are you on the old or new bootloader?

How to sim unlock Galaxy Note 3 SCL22 Lollipop 5.0?

I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SCL22 from au japan.
I have unlocked it before using service mode (*#0011#) when it was on Kitkat 4.4.2.
But after I updated it on Lollipop 5.0 I cannot unlock it using service mode because there is no menu anymore it is just end.
Is there any other code or way to access service mode.
Any other way to sim unlock my phone? THANKS!
Same problem here
Any solution pls

SCL22 on Lollipop
Same problem here, cant access the Service Menu and Can't use any sim in the Philippines.
Please somebody help us.
Probably found a solution in a Japanese forum. Though I haven't understand it fully (with google translate), but it can be something like this.
Do not upgrade the firmware from your phone (If you already did, then you can re-install it again with following procedure).
Instead download the official SCL22 Lollipop firmware from sammobile.com or somewhere else in your PC.
Extract the firmware and add "ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk" in /system/app/ directory. Probably we need to google a bit on how to rebuild a firmware. A starting point can be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138885
Then install the firmware using Odin.
After installation, follow the unlock instruction for Kitkat 4.3, which I think you know already. They are also available in the Japanese forum too.
http://www.neko.ne.jp/~freewing/android/au_scl22_galaxy_note3_sim_unlock/
Note: The ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk download link is given in the Japanese forum. Or I think it can be extracted from the Kitkat 4.3 firmware files too. Once I followed this post (http://allthec.blogspot.com/2014/11/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-note-3-scl22.html) to root my SCL22 Kitkat 4.4.2 which is specific to SCL22 only and very easy to follow, this should work for Lollipop 5.0 too, if you are interested to root your device. But rooting the device will not unlock the phone.
I haven't tried it in my phone yet. Can any of you try it and let us know how it goes. Hopefully it will work!
Awesome
Thanks tutul.net, I will try that out.
And the translation is terrible so I'll try with the little japanese I can read:
First Method:
 ・Using odin flash SCL22KDU2FNF7
 ・Unlock using the SCL22KDU2FNF7 method
 ・Dont upgrade past SCL22KDU2FNF7
Second Method:
・Using Odin only flash the SCL22KDU2FNF7 modem
・Extract the old version of the ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk and overwrite the new one (/system/app/ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk)
・Using the Service menu, *#0011#, unlock with the old method
Now that I actually wrote all that out, looks like you were spot on. Thanks again!
I have had a note.3 as a paper weight for about a year now, maybe your advice will finally let me use it.
Also it was kind of biatch to get that apk, so I reupped it somewhere else for convenience hope it helps someone: ServiceModeApp_RL.zip
I'm having trouble with this and it's getting me really frustrated... did you eventually get it to work?
can you just flash the modem? isn't the modem supposed to be .bin file?
if you were able to successfully rebuild the rom with the fix, it would help me greatly if you can upload it somewhere
any help is appreciated
Did anyone manage to do this?
Basically you need a Linux base PC to rebuild a tar.md5

[Q] Recovery Mode LG Leon (H340n)

So after I rooted my device I was playing around with Xposed Firmware. And I was thinking if there was any way to "unlock the bootloader" and put a custom recovery . So if any of you knows any way please let me know
I already tried Flashfire
If you want to root your LG Leon H340n install the Kingroot app

Nice question i can give you a real life example, One day i install that version with no problems ,i unlock the bootloader , install the TWRP and then the rom. Everything was working fine (exept the rom bugs) exept the signal. If i was at America and had an Metro PCS card i would use 5.1.1 . Since i'm not there i can't install a firmware from another mainland. I doesn't know from people living in America like T-Mobile or AT&T or i don't know anything else, i ain't sure if it will work for them.
P.S : As i read from some news about LG Leon, we gonna get the update 5.1.1 , but i don't know when.

I rewritten this twice to be a better & less cluttered work...so check out my new thread

As I dont have tested so much with lg devices, I may be wrong. But if the device is incorrect shouldnt the flash process fail? I have locked bootloader, so shouldnt I be able to install my factory kdz even if the flash process fails for using incorrect kdz?
And one more doubt: which versions are 5.1.1? D e and f? Also, is downgrade possible from d e and f to a version?

All the kdz files are defined by country, model, & carrier
It may not brick your phone if you flash the wrong one, but you probably wont be able to recieve calls or even read the language on your device since you flash another country/carrier.

Well for the sake of trying, that wont be a trouble. The only trouble would be not being able to access firmware upgrade mode after an incorrect kdz, or not being able to downgrade. I'd love to be sure about that, but I found no certain info around :/
I only tried another version (no carrier) for my h340ar and worked perfecty, but both were argentinian kdz and v10a. I wanted to try v10d e or f and see what happens. But this is my only device and here theyre expensive

Then i come to know that it is not properly working. It got more serieous issues over the time. The i flashed my phone with sph-l720 firmware but it does not let me change network modes between gsm and wcdma. While i can change those networks in i9500 rom.
So i want to know that can i flash i9500 rom on my sph-l720 again "anyhow"!!
If possible send me links or tutorial so that i can flash rom on my phone. Also i am also eager to use lollipop rom (of i9500) on my phone. My phone is now almost unusable.
Give me the straight and forward solution and i am also aware about hardwares of both the devies.
Is there anything that you can help. I will really appreciate that.

If anyone could backup their current rom of kitkat (i.e. Modified rom on sph-l720) using twrp recovery and share it with my google drive or onedrive, so i can restore that on phone that it can be usable again. I would be very thankful to them.
Install Phone Info *Samsung* and send the details of it.
