i think E435 (dual sim) has jelly bean and it's source and packed rom is available.
i am starting a project to port it over E405.
anyone interested can join.

that would be great if true , unfortunately i am a noob and don't have experience with any of this, but please keep us (me) posted with any progress, maybe even create a thread in the development forum.

I don't think there's an ICS ROM for E405, but it should be easy to make one, since basically it is E400 with 2 chips

ics installing it on my E400 for daily use

getting there

and what is the issue?

link
for anyone interessed
it is only the frist pre alpha, so the only thing that work is the display, touch screen, audio, and bluethoot. dont have yet any sim or wifi, and i cannot unlock the screen yet, but if you plug and unplug the usb it came back.

it is NON-FUNCTIONAL i repeat
i only posting to anyone who whant to see the preview and give some feedback and possible fixes
I will not post the source right now, because i have a lot to fix (i know what and where) the only problem is the time. once i finaly finish the kernel and the init port (not the entire rom, only the things i know i got to change) i will post the entire source.

i think its possible to make jellybean for this device, because samsung galaxy y duos can do that
but, there is few people using this device, so it hard to do

I belive it is possible. But now i still stuck with ril porting if the source i trying works i can try to update the system to jb

Custom X8 kernel for paul-xxx's ICS

as you all probably know paul-xxx released an ICS rom for our X8 which is apparently based on CM9 (correct me if i am wrong). however it has a lot of problems like WiFi, Camera etc. it also has kernel compatibility issues like gsm working on nAa kernel but not on alfs kernel and so on (again correct me if i am wrong). so i have decided that i will set about the task of building a compatible kernel for this rom. however that is not possible alone by me. i need the help of expert devs on X8. so let's start, shall we?
i can only can help you in testing , sorry im not an expert, i hope some people help you to compile the kernel !!!!
sorry my bad english !!
as i say any help is greatly appreciated. and could you ask other devs you know to help me out? thanks in advance.
I know that FXP is already doing something for MSM7227 for ICS
It is in their Git, maybe they are planing to port ICS to X10Mini/X10MiniPro/X8, or help on that.
I cant help because I am using W8 and I cannot unlock bootloader. I am sorry but I will help support you guys...
Hit the THANKS button if I helped!!

i have a question. in fact 2 questions.
1. can i use this guide to compile a kernel using this source except for the fact that the source will be different (in this case the ICS kernel source that you referred me to)?
2. since FXP kernel has compatibility issues with some roms, will a kernel using their ICS source be compatible with paul's ICS?
hope to see reply soon.

msm7x27:initial fork [freexperia]
i think this means that they forked the "base" kernel for Msm7x27, so it must be complete.
@souljaboy11792 If you botherd to look at FXP ICS source you will see it's only for es209ra (X10).You can't build this for X8 witout a lot of changes. And what's the point of this thread when you know nothing about kernel building.(Don't mean to be rude)

Android 4.2 for Xperia 2011

I recently heard that FXP will stop developing for the whole Xperia 2011 series, when just around the corner, Android 4.2 was standing with a bag of goodies, for which FXP has a valid reason, that these devices lack ram to support features of 4.2. I decided to build 4.2 from source for 2011 devices, for those who'd want to try out the latest version of android. I can handle compiling ROM. But need some help with kernel. if you can help out, or if you wanna be a part of the project. Leave a comment at this thread or PM me. After public release, Dev's can submit their patches / fixes for the ROM to that thread....
I do this because i don't want us to be stuck with stock based ROMs forever and because 4.2 looks awesome . All in all, Thankyou FXP for your work.
one thing that our xperia 2011 devices (especially neo/v ) lack is kernel developers ,we dont have linux 3.0 kernel which which would have made the user experience of JB 4.1 or 4.2 better , linux 3.0 supports many advanced features of JB ,but due to lack of these kernels our user experience will be incomplete , building & testing out these kernels will take hell of time and patience.
i hope this doesn't disappoint's any user or dev just a suggestion
linux 3.0 kernels would be awesome on our phones
i wish you all the best for taking such a great project

Right now I'm mainly into developing apps, currently learning myself the basics of Kernel Development, I'm also capable of compiling Android.
Going to mess around a bit today, haven't compiled Android for my Xperia Pro yet.

Ok so.. Half way through compiling it failed, because of low storage or something. I read up online and found out that I need atleast 30gigs for compiling, where as I only have around 15-20 free on my laptop, lol unlucky I guess.. So project delayed - until I get more storage for my pc or if someone compiles for me if I give them the sources (if want 4.2 faster). And as for the kernel, instead of building a kernel (which may take long). I'll be modifying the current JB kernel for 4.2

There's no fully stable rom. ICS roms have lags due to base kernel, and they use a lot of ram. GB ROMs have some bugs like auto-reboots and sometimes connection drop. Let's see the next of the next

No, forest is making it with JustArchi github, it isn't finished yet. I think you won't have to merge forest and n2 kernel because he will make it too

This is a kernel version with modified ramdisk.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/ldntupd5xvjvf11/Forest-twkk.zip
I probably should work for TW-KK port.
At least it will boot and has adb working and recovery working.
In case port rom not working you can adb reboot to recovery and get back to your backup rom.
I have also enabled logcat so u can take logcat to debug the port rom.
No guarantee through:laugh:. GL.
Let us know the rezults

[PROJECT] Porting CM12 to ZTE Blade Q MAXI

i've been looking exhaustively these laste two days and I have found not even a single ****...
So i've been looking on some wikis and crap and I decided to try to port CM12 (or 11, which i like the most and has less battery issues as I have heard) but:
1. I'm always (or almost always) busy
2.Classes are starting soon and I'll have to be constantly moving to the University (waste of time that I already don't have XD :silly
3. I'll need people to help me up
So what do you think about this?
This is not intended to be a quick project and I'll need as much help as I can get

That's what I want.
I know that MTK kernels are harder to modify, so I'll try to find anything, or learn how to do it by my own since I'm studying Software Engineering
Thank you guys. I'll keep it coming and hope to do it sooner than later

Also, I remember last year a guy named Aniruddha Adhikary who supposedly worked for Acer, leaked the mt6572 kernel, and I also do remeber thag I have saved it on my PC somewhere. Sadly, the github page of the kernel is a dud. My fears are that the kernel, if I find it, is going to be lackluster and incomplete as most MTK kernels leaked by OEM's are.

The thing is that this would be my very first attempt into Android developing... And I know it won't be easy. It would be great to have that kernel, even though it's not finished.
If it's not possible, i was wondering if a kernel from a similar phone with the same processor would be easier to port (for instance, ZTE BLADE which has way more development than our phone does).
Yeah. All we need is a point of start

Its nice to see that u have good will for CM,...good luck to all of u and if u one day decide to port any of CM for Q too,..i can test it.
@vtaufner
I present you some of my observation:
the simillar device with Zte Blade Q Maxi are ZTE Blade G Lux
ZTE Blade G Lux have the same specs: cpu and gpu and most important it have a kernel allready compiled for KK
but it dont want to boot on Blade Q maxi
i beleve guilty for this unboot is lk.bin files wich work like a bootloader and it block other kernel (even from simmilar device) to boot
ZTE Blade G Lux doesnt have lk.bin file included in stok rom.
other observation conected by lk.bin is:
kernel from ZTE Blade Q Maxi(wich are 2-3 variants) doesnt work properly with lk.bin from Orange Reyo( 1 example it doesnt read correct the battery level)
but all variants of Kernel(including Orange Reyo kernel) work good with lk.bin from ZTE Blade Q Maxi
Earlier i downloaded from ZTE sites the kernel source for ZTE Blade Q Maxi and i atached here
in the package you will find and some other files like boot.img and lk.bin from all ZTE Blade Q Maxi and Blade Glux
for the moment this all, if i remember somethig I will tell you
Ps. ZTE Blade have other specs, different cpu and gpu
That's weird.
Yesterday i was looking for some info about this... And read that blade q and blade q maxi are the same, but ours is bigger.
I also downloaded q maxi kernel yesterday, so i'll give a look at it and to ZTE g lux kernel soon.
Thanks @vaserbanix

So I was looking for some kernel info and found this: http://www.mtkroms.com/p/mtk-6572-custom-roms.html
One of dem roms says that is a 4.4.2 android.
Do you think we can port something like that to our phone?

I have plenty of time now.
I have to use it well.
65% and uploading
EDIT: there you go
https://mega.nz/#!5dxk3CDZ!FBPTNeDjnn-KtAeRvaoOYV6ixH_gdZ5_lbJRWehFKS8
watch out if you're gonna flash this rom via cmw... It's a generic MT6572 rom.
Don't forget porting your boot.img and crap.
Check the original page for instructions, if needed

@vaserbanix Can you please try if 4.3 port is real?
http://www.mtkroms.com/2015/03/43-android-43-upgrade-for-mtk-6572-with.html
I'll download and upload it to mega right now.
EDIT:
link is dead.
I tried to contact the guy who made this, but he hasn't answered me yet.
I'll delete Lolifox from my mega storage, since he says on the blog not to mirror his ROMs
