Be interesting to see how many of these are considered. I had no idea so much of what many consider basic functionality was missing in wp8.

Pen-testing

Does anyone know why there had been such a dearth of pen-testing apps out for the android? (or am I just in the dark ). Wireshark is nice, but I would think given the future of mobile, and security concerns always on the rise, Android makes a great platform to run countless apps to sniff, manipulate js, xss even.
I mean I would think there would be a scaled down version of metasploit out by now.

Not too many hackers here maybe... Oh well....I might go bother the devs for an opinion if they have one.

This isn't a needless bump... I actually found some interesting apps -- for those who take a fancy to the dark arts.... check out this link:
http://www.pentestit.com/tag/debdroid/
I originally found the site (the domain) in an XDA portal post from late February.
It's pretty cool... you can grab a lot of different data if you want.....
any update on what you found ?
There are some packages with metasploit, you can run a backtrack 5...etc.

one of the reason we advise new people to use search is because it's faster for them to find answers than waiting for them. and because not using search means more junk threads in the search results for people who use it.
this was posted not long ago and it's still in the first page so you could've spotted it without even using search:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902503
In XDA community you're always welcome to join ongoing conversation, so you don't need to start a new one
my magic crystal ball tells me we're about to see history repeat itself with the over-repeated epic-fail questions like:
1. can the HD2 run iOS?
2. can the HD2 run WM7?
3. can the HD2 run Android?
and so on...man there were a ton of those threads back in the day...
I don't know why people are asking anymore, don't they see that hd2 can run every lightweight operating systems? In every case it's just a matter of time ;-)

Facebook App

Hi to all,
I don't know if this is the correct section to post this thread, of not be free to move it
I was reading on the Web that Facebook rebuilt the App for Apple using Objective - C instead of Html5, I hope that they will do something even for us because I don't know you but the problem that is not possible to upload photos is quite annoying.
It seams that even Friendcast doesn't work good...Maybe this is the good moment to stop using Facebook Just kidding Ahahah.
Bye

1. Many tech sites and users have been saying that the Facebook app on iOS lagged worse than the Android version hence the change. The iOS version NEEDED the update where as the Android version would benefit from it but they don't deem it necessary. Hopefully they will do it in the future though.
2. I can upload photos with both Facebook & FriendCaster. Not sure what issue your bumping into
This isn't related to the GT-I9100

I have to say, If you're really sitting there trying to steal people's Facebook accounts, I feel you deserve to be left to figure this out on your own.
I have to say that faceniff is an app for androids and am asking a question that have been asked again here some time ago. So go and try bull someone ealse instead of playing the smart one. And anyhow i havent violate any terms of use of this forum. What i do is my job and not urs.

Not here, will the support be given:
FaceNiff is an Android app that allows you to sniff and intercept web session profiles over the WiFi that your mobile is connected to....

you could download the whole websites text to a string (similar to this: http://www.coderzheaven.com/2011/07/17/how-to-read-webpage-contents-as-a-string-in-android/) and generate a hash or md5.
you could do this every time you sync and compare those md5s/hashs ,if they are different hr content has changed

What you can do is add a page to your blog which contains last update date.
Each time your app launches you can get the value of the date and compare it with the last date which you must have saved in shared preferences or whatever.
