Hey guys, I've recently updated to the leaked Froyo update and occured some problems. My phone worked fine the first couple days, but now for the last two my facebook app doesn't work. Ive tried whiping, reinstalling the update, clearing cache for the app, and re logging back into it. The error message I keep getting is:
"An error has occuried while fetching data. [null]"
I've never seen this kind of error before, and can't figure out how to fix it. Any ideas or suggestions? I had CM5.0.6 on before this if that info helps. If you need anything else from lemme know, caz I'm out of ideas
Same problem here. Noticed it today. Even at home with wifi connected, I get that same message on Facebook. Anyone have an idea why. Facebood worked for a couple of days after updating to froyo, then now nothng

btw - tested facebook app on my xperia x10a. gets the SAME error. facebook app problem, probably.
It's definitely a problem with Facebook itself. Most likely due to the changes in privacy settings (again).

Yea doesn't work on mine either as of later night...same. " null" error. Strangely, I loaded 'Blue' and it works fine

Its a Facebook issue
Wife says her iPhone won't even work, so Facebook screwed something in the API.. Probably making changes so random people have even more access to your information.
Not androids fault. Blame it on facebook. Its on their end.

lol couldnt have been said better ..i started having this too. it just started today..i can get notifications to load correctly and comment and what not,but when i go to neww posts people have put or try to write something on my wall then i get that notification..
Facebook just changed the users privacy settings once again, so that's why.
It's working again today.
Hopefully, with the Android Facebook SDK released yesterday, it won't be too long before we get a really good facebook app like the one on the iPhone (as opposed to the crap we have now).

Ever seen the Windows Mobile Facebook? The current Android one is awesome compared to it.. Never looked at it on the iPhone.
And gee, I was right.. They were adding more "Privacy" settings. Funny how they use the word "Privacy".
Not sure if any of you saw this or not but I trust in Eric Tseng. He's been at Facebook about two weeks and he's already getting stuff done. http://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/385
Btw the error fetching data happens to me too. It happens all the time and they have to end up updating again. Have faith in Tseng!! He just needs more time.
I had that error too, it went away early this morning...
also, I cannot wait to see what the next facebook app has in store with the SDK being released...does this mean our facebook client will equal or even surpase the iPhone one?

Facebook app seems to work just fine here (N1 running Froyo). I've tested using both both 3G and WiFi.

It's working now, the app was broken for a while. Pretty much all of yesterday.
Has anyone been able to find a way to make Facebook update properly on the HD2 these days?
I cannot see any of my recent wall posts, photos etc.

I've also been having this same problem. I had to log out and re-log back in to refresh the updates. I don't know why it's been doing this.
log out log in again every time you want it to update or you can use the client build into the browser. Been fudged up for a few weeks now
Logging in and out does not seem to work for me oddly enough.
Seems like such a simple program.
I know they are working on new security, interfaces, certificates and the like, but...really...this is as rudimentary a facebook experience as one can get and I find it very strange that it has not been addressed with an update in the marketplace.
Glad to see that some others here have had their troubles start with this around the same time I did.

Install the version NOT from the Marketplace or the one that came preinstalled on the HD2. Its the same version according to about, but for some reason, this version for me has been working fine for around a week where as the others won't update and haven

You can get it directly from Facebook, or from Windowsmobile.com.

this is an older version of the app.. the current version is 1.1.0.17
Well that is the latest version that I could find. Its the same as the one here..but the functionality is basically the same despite the version number.

the version off of the market place is 1.1.0.17 the one on the phone was older than that by a long shot as it was 1.0.0.0.7 or something like that
Which is very true, but they both offer the same features and functionality so the version differenece seems prettty trivial to me.
while the features are similar the PQ is loads better on the new app....no more low res crap pix.......

Nothing seems to fix it. The ONLY way I can get on Facebook on my HD2 now, is to use XDA-Facebook...which is a better application anyway in my opinion. I think the problem is with Facebook itself, not the app but I cannot confirm this.

From what I've read it's a Microsoft issue. FB changed some **** and Microsoft has yet to develop an update to make their facebook app work with facebook. I guess FB let Android, Iphone, etc know the changes were coming and Microsoft just doesn't care about our Winmo 6.5 software enough to work on it. There are some threads on the internet about this where people are wigging the hell out over it. Saying they will never buy another winmo phone because of it. It's kinda funny.
The FB app on my phone hasn't worked for over a month. Do I care? Not that much. The FB app on my iphone 2G works just fine.

Ditto. The Facebook app has never worked for me. As soon as I enter my user information the app will update my news feed, photos, and status ONCE. Ever since, I have found that the mobile version of FB is excellent for what I need. I it doubt that the app will ever be updated.
I didn't know a good name for the thread but, whatever.
So, I recently exchanged my HD2 for a new one, and the ROM was upgraded on the new one (I think). It's 3.14.561.1 WWE. I used to be able to sync my Facebook with my contacts on my old phone, but for some reason it doesn't work. When you go to Link the Facebook with a contact, it's supposed to show up their picture, but instead, it show's the grey head. After browsing, I noticed theres nothing in \Windows\FBContacts, but 3 random picture's in \Temp\fbimagecache. I'm between a rock and a hard place. Facebok v1.1.0.26
tl;dr Would having 3.14 ROM and this v of fb make a difference?

Hello guys, yester i´ve got my Lumia 920, i feel in love so far.
The battery ist not so god like i was hoping but okay.
But i dont really like the IE Browser. Am i able to change the "view" of Facebook or Google ? I´ve been a Android User for years and i had on my S2 a better Facebook Mobile site as on the Lumia 920. And the Facebook Apps in Microsoft´s store sucks. Any suggestion to change this ?
I miss the Facebook design from my Android on my WP8.

Do u know how i can stop the download of Facebook pictures to my device ?! Its so annoying.... i dont want them on my device...
That happens automatically when you put a facebook account on to your device. No way to stop it other than removing your Facebook account.
On WP7, the pictures do not download. You only see thumbnail previews. If you try to access them without internet they won't show up.

Does anyone know why Phone disappeared in the Playstore? I can no longer even see it listed under my installed apps in the Playstore. I had disabled one update before, because the screen wouldn't turn on while on Bluetooth. The phone was listed under available updates for a while and recently just disappeared. At first I thought it was because I installed Gcam with camera2 API and HAL3, but the phone is not rooted, and bootloader is locked.

It did update the phone app, but frequently I got the error "Google has stopped" so uninstalled it, which means that the app I have now is even older version than 16. I had earlier. It doesn't update now. Perhaps February update may bring some changes,

I think compatibility was removed from the Mi A1 as they were receiving many 1 star reviews on the app by people from India. Many users are complaining about issues related to the Jio network which are not being experienced by users from other countries.

My device is pure stock with no modification other than the beta thing. Planning to update to stable February ota when fastboot rom is released. Or sooti bring the twrp twrp flashable rom ( whichever is earlier )
I don't know the issue others mentioning on the threads, for me this device is rock stable from the day i purchased it. No random reboot or application forcestop etc...

Edit - Camera lag is because of root. I didn't realise that. Anyway flashed the stock boot images by sooti on both partitions and the lag is gone.

Right but i can't live without root because Lucky patcher, xposed, and freedom are must have apps for me. OTA comes in more than a month so who cares when you can update through twrp and fastboot method without loosing data

You guys do know you can remove Duplicates via the Contacts app and the Phone app has nothing to do with it right?

What i'm facing is that isssue :
1) If i open contact app, there is no duplicate contact at all
2) if i go to the contact tab of the phone app, there is duplicate contacts (on line for each app that allow calls, for example if one of my contact is on whatsapp, duo and signal, i got 4 contacts line, one for standard call, one for whatsapp call, one for signal call and finally one for duo call)
That's pretty annoying and i didn't yet find any solution

You can merge the contacts by showing ALL CONTACTS in the Contacts app then merging them all.

Again, that's not working.
In the contacts App, there is no duplicate contact at all ... even when i choose to show ALL CONTACTS...
The issue is only in the contact tab of the Dialer app ... and there is no option in Dialer app to merge, nor to filter view

Welp. I don't have duplicate contacts on the contacts tab of the Phone app. Weird issue.
Phone app v17 was working fine until i changed to new beta rom and now its not available in play store so i downloaded latest apk from apkmirror and now this message appears when i app phone app " This device is not supported and phone calls may not work correctly" ??
Update: So i changed my phones build prop with some pixel 2 xl build props and restarted device and now Phone App is visible in play store and supported. Everything working fine
