Accidentaly locked to USA band Atrix 4G how to fix it ? - Atrix 4G General

Hello there, so heres the story.
My mate got Atrix 4g and apparently he was playing in the settings mode and _accidentaly_ locked the phone to USA band only. Needless to say his phone no longer is able to make calls or use any other of the network modes now.
My question is how can I update the radio so phone works with other modes again ? I googled and tried master reset and factory reset with no luck.
Then I found this Hope this is right for Atrix 4g ? and will that image if I flash it over current one will update/over write the current RADIO and hopefuly make phone usable again? Should i flash this “1FF-olympus-user-2.3.6-4.5.141-111212-release-keys-signed-ATT-US-GAS_NA_OLPSGBATTSPE_P012.sbf.gz” over current firmware?
Or is there a way to just flash new RADIO to phone and be over with it ?
Or do I need to root / unlock bootloader on current phone settings then push CWM and use that to flash radios? And if so where do I get said radios?
Or can i just use RDS Lite 5.6 and find some RADIOS and flash them from there?
Phone info
android version : 2.3.6
System version 4.5.141.MB860.ATT.en.US
Baseband
N_01.77.37P
Kernel version 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #2
Build number 4.5.141
Any info on this will be appreciated
thank you.

Well calm that has a solution
1 install I9000UGJH2
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
with pit 512 and re-partition marked
and you will have the 850mhz back
2 Install jpo Froyo, not re-partition check
then place the file. tar in pda

Droid Pro baseband

So I got a Droid Pro off contract and unlocked it myself, and I'm currently using it in Kuwait on a local SIM card that has a data plan subscription. I've used this SIM on other Android devices so i confirm that 1) The data plan is OK and 2) I have the correct APN settings.
Now on my Pro I can't get any data connectivity. After much searching I decided that the problem is with the baseband, as I read on many sites that sometimes a baseband version will give better connectivity over another baseband in certain areas, and in some cases people didn't have any data connectivity at all until they updated their baseband.
So my questions are:
Can I confirm its a baseband issue? Or do I have to try to confirm?
How can I update the baseband?
Which baseband version should I use?
I'm running stock Pro with baseband n_01.53.07p, and the Select Radio band menu shows only USA Band, which clearly isn't helping!
It's not your baseband. You need to go to settings -> wireless + network settings -> mobile networks -> access point names
have the provider manually add the APN info since it's not automatically detected with this phone for some reason. had to go through the same thing here in thailand. (required phone reboot as well)
n_01.53.07p is not as stable for who uses this phone outside US as n_01.53.00R which is the original baseband version in stock rom(2.26.2).
I will not accept 2.26.60 update until the next release one.

Really? I can't recall whether I tried to establish a data connection using the pre-update version or not. I'll flash the SBF & do a factory reset and let you know.
Hi refeee2
I maybe mislead you for the baseband version issue.
I'll change the sim card of another carrier for further testing.

No problem.
I've already rolled back to 2.26.20, and still no data.
I've contacted Motorola/Verizon about this and I'm waiting for their reply.
Hi refeee2
It's sim card issue.
My carrier relaced one for me, the phone works fine with both baseband version.

Raphael,
That SIM card that you say had a problem, did you use it on any other phones?
Seeking experts' knowledge here:
Is it possible to take the baseband files off a Euro Milestone 2 and run them on the Pro? Obviously I don't need CDMA connectivity, I just need to test alternate basebands for my GSM radio. Choose the Milestone2 cause it's running on the same chipset.

[i9023] Nexus S

hi everyone. my phone has been great until i installed Nexus S Full OTA ICS 4.0.3. it seemed to be ok last night as thats when i flashed it, plus i was texting my friend about 2-3 hours after the update. however this morning i now find that i have no signal.
I have tried installing different roms and going back to the backup but its still not working. i am now back on gingerbread.
what is strange is on the bootloader screen it says baseband and bootloader is version i9020xxka3 but in {about} settings on the phone it says baseband I9023XXKB3
could it be this rom has screwed up my radio rom? i am in the uk and my phone is i9023 any help to get this sorted would be appreciated as my partner is expecting and ready to drop a sprog
Bootloader version is different from baseband version.
The default bootloader for stock ICS is KL1.
The default baseband is KI1.
Everytime you flashed the full stock ROM, it overwrites your bootloader and baseband.
No need to worry about this thing.
What you could try is wipe your phone fully, then flash the full stock ROM back.
If the signal problem persists, you could try flashing another baseband.
Just pick one from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884 that is for i9023, and works well on your phone.
I am in Indonesia and KI1, the default baseband that comes with the stock ROM works without problems.
I sometimes lost my data connection, but this is related to my carrier network I guess.
And simply turning on & off airplane mode brings the data connection back.
Hope this helps.

[SOLVED] random reboots

so i got an atrix from korea (MB861) did OTA to gingerbread
and I unlocked the bootloader (didn't flash any sbfs, it came with unlockable bootloader for some reason)
after unlocking, I flashed CWM and installed CM9 but it keeps rebooting
(tried other roms including AT&T stock rom)
any suggestions?
solved
solved..
just needed to flash a different radio file from CWM
Weird, what radio did you have before?
I think the kernel was the issue. The cm7/9 radio lib is a hack. Prob causing errors at run because your radio was not part of the hack solution. Is the mb861 3g only, no hdspa+?

if the problem is the radio support 2100, the brazillian carrier Tim supports it, i just dont know if the bootloader solution supports it, you should definetely look into it.

Unlock BL and root on C6606

I know there are 100 different threads on both of these subjects but they are out of date, cluttered, and unorganized. So my question is, can I unlock the bootloader on this thing and root it, or not? Here's some info:
Model: C6606
Carrier: T-Mobile
Android Version: 4.3
Build Number: 10.4.C.0.814
Any help is greatly appreciated.

*#*#7378423#*#*, then Service Info> Configuration (I guess).
If there is written Bootloader unlock allowed: YES, then you can proceed futher for bootloader unlock proccess,
If there is written Bootloader unlock allowed: NO, then your bootloader is hard-locked and you can't unlock it, it's impossible to make it unlockable.
If there is written Bootloader unlocked: YES, then congratulations, you've unlocked your bootloader!
If your status is YES and you want to get tutorial, how to unlock it, quote my message and I'll reply regarding your question.
Hope I helped
The C6606 has a non-unlockable bootloader. You can look in the service menu as explained above, but it's definitely permanently locked.

Well that was a waste of $130 then. What about root, recovery and ROMs? Any hope for that?
Got rooted by using TowelRootv3, now to see if TWRP can be installed and such. I'm guessing the locked bootloader just keeps me from flashing kernels on this phone right?

You can use XZDualRecovery.
Yes, you're correct. You cannot flash custom kernels so can't flash any custom rom that requires a custom kernel, such as CM, AOSP etc.

I have a C6606 with a custom ROM and use TWRP. I run Rajeevs 4.4.4 ROM with no issues.
As mentioned before no custom kernels with locked bootloader. Stock based only.

Data and wifi are fine. I've never used wifi calling since I have unlimited talk and text and have cell service most of the time and don't really care when I don't and wifi is not available when I have no cell service. I know I no longer have wifi calling apps or what not. I finally have no t-mobile junk on my phone. It is nice.

Thanks for the input, guess I will check that ROM out. Been trying to get a recovery installed to no avail.
His ROM has TWRP in it. Install XZDual Recovery, back everything up and follow his instructions. I like his ROMs the best because there is no need to flash the kernel separately. My last Z bricked its self about 3 reboots after flashing a stock kernel with the flashtool.

My guess is that I have to flash a new firmware before flashing this ROM right? I'm on 4.3 right now.
Sent from my C6606 using Tapatalk
Nope. Your ROM version is android 4.3 right now. Flashing the new ROM will update the necessary stuff. On first startup you might see messages like updating NFC drivers and so on.

Well I can't get recovery installed because I can't find fastboot drivers. Tried downloading flashtool and it won't even start downloading. Any help on that would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm. I never needed flashtool. If you are rooted I believe there is one that you download the app, install it and have it install the recovery. I just got off work after the shift from hell and 12 days on and another 9 to look forward to so Im going to bed. Ill look for the one I am talking about when I get up if you have not found it by the. It will be in the dev area here.

Don't worry about it, get some rest. I got everything going now. Just needed the ADB files (not fastboot) and I got recovery installed, making a backup and will be flashing shortly. Thanks again for all your help man!
This is why I asked about data. After flashing the ROM, I had no data at all. I didn't know I had to manually add the APN myself.
Also, none of those ROMs contain a radio that has a baseband that allows T-Mobile LTE. If you're on T-Mobile, you're stuck with 3G or H+. So it looks like I'll be sticking with stock from now on.

Youll have LTE. Everyone told me I would not but I always did. I always had to go into settings and download the data settings.
