Would the Nexus work with the Powermat - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Do you think the Nexus would be compatible with this: http://www.prepaymania.co.uk/bundle...5_1352951281_943abe706d6d6b649f154f0e4db00ac9
Usually it requires powercubes, but because the Nexus is Qi compatible, does this mean we can use it without.

I believe not. Last time I checked Powermat have not made any QI compatible chargers.

Thanks, is it similar to this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Powermat-...ories_MobilePhoneChargers&hash=item51a26daf52 ?

Powermats will not work.
Touchstone chargers will not work.

Anything out there that will work? Still have not heard anything on when the official charger will even be available or for how much, kinda worries me.

As discussed in many Nexus 4 Accessories threads the Nokia one sometimes works but not always, the LG WCP-[something] does work and is on amazon, the Oregon Scientific time and charger works and as stated above the Energizer Qi mats work.
Take a look thru these threads.

Xoom Charging Port Broke

Hi,
I was charging my Xoom yesterday and my dog ran around and tripped on the cable. The charger bent and wouldn't work anymore. I bought a new charger thinking that was the problem, but it won't charge either. I assume that the port itself broke somehow.
It's the WiFi model, i bought from Best Buy without any protection plan. Does anyone know offhand what the cost of repair would be via Motorola and turnaround time?
Or better yet, some other way to charge it? (i wish the mini USB would work)
Thanks
Put the dog up for adoption.
Go to motos website and jump on a chat to see what they say.

I posted it on the Moto forums, thanks. Also, I heard the dock charges it without using the normal port, is that true? Would that work?
I too was going to suggest the dock. I am fairly certain it charges through the USB.

Thanks, i'll do this, but can anyone 100% confirm that would work in my situation? It would be greatly appreciated.
Dock will charge it. It charges through the exposed metal sockets you see on the bottom, not through USB. But it will work I have one.
Cheers.
You should go to ifixit.com and look for a teardown. Try and find the part on EBay or see if you can order through Moto. That sucks.

The dock is/was on sale at BestBuy. That's your immediate best bet.
But that's a big inconvenience. I have the dock and I think I only used it once. You'd have to have a boner to be able to rest that dock on you when you're using it in bed.

Just a + 1 for confirmation.
I find the crappy little charge port & jack to be one of the VERY few cons about the Xoom. The 2 gold plated connectors at least offer hope that I could fabricate another charger (apple laptop style) if ever necessary.

[Q] Wireless Charge Dock

Hey everyone.
Reason, I started this thread. Is to find out what everyone is using. When it comes to the wireless docks out there.. I'm currently looking at the Nokia one. What is everyone else looking into? Currently awaiting the release of the cube for the N4. Not available yet tho.

At the moment, no one really knows anything about the official orb. I didn't want to wait to unleash the potential of this awesome technology so I bought a Maxell wireless charging mat. It works perfectly, and if you're interested then I just suggest getting one now. When the official one comes out you can just place it somewhere else in the house/office, which is what I'm going to do.

IMO, they should sort the availability problem first, as there's still not enough phones, and the cheapest you can get it is >500€ (about $660 usd) in some countries.
That's maybe what they are doing atm, they release the Orb when the not-in-stock situation has settled down a bit..

That's pretty cool considering it goes under the battery cover and is from Samsung. It isn't a case or some other external addon that changes the size of what's in your hand.

(q) micro usb cable purchase

I'm going to replace the micro USB cable that came with my Nexus 4. (The one from the stock charger). I need a cable which charges as fast as the stock one. I tried getting a cable from Mediabridge but they don't ship outside US.
I found those two on Amazon. They're almost the same, the one being 3.0 while the other one is 2.0. Is it the same which one I choose, and are those cables suitable for charging my nexus 4 with stock charger? Thanks.

2.0 Has issues with connections and the charging speed is not so good.
3.0 does not fit at all.
The best one is the Fosmon Flat Cable which is pretty good for its price, I even have one myself.
It is 2.1 AMPs out which does a good speedy charge on the Nexus 4, I even own a orange one and it is just so good.

Charger ratings

Hi guys,
Got my Z1 Compact from O2 and they don't provide chargers.
Could someone do me a solid and tell me what the output ratings are on the charger which comes with it?
I'm currently using a Nexus 7 charger which has a 2A output and am a bit concerned.
Cheers

Hi, I'm using the same charger. The phone should regulate itself and only suck in what power it needs, a 2A supply shouldn't be an issue for it. If the phone can only accept 1A then that is all it will accept from the charger.
The Stock charger is rated 1.5A. From the looks of it, it is the same charger included with Z1.
So is the retail box for the O2 Z1C without charger looks the same as normal Z1C?

The chargers they sell in store are just generic stuff. They don't keep stock of actual Xperia chargers.
