Samsung Note 10.1 enters the Queen's UK Royal Collection!!! - Galaxy Note 10.1 General

Here's a little number I spotted on the BBC web site last night that seems to have slipped the attention of many!
Here's what it says:
The Queen will add the first tablet computer to the Royal Collection when she is presented with a "digital time-capsule" later. The touchscreen device will provide access to videos, photographs and text submitted by participants who have recounted memories from the past 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II's reign. 150 gigabytes of data was collected, that is more than can be stored on Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1, so it has been limited to 60 selected entries.

These were picked by a panel of judges including the director general of The Royal Photographic Society and the Royal Librarian. Organisers have pledged that the complete library of 80,000 entries will remain available online to all "in perpetuity". It has been called the Diamond (re)Collection.
More than 37,000 people from 66 countries took part in the project, including Olympic "blade runner" athlete Oscar Pistorius and Prince Harry, as well as less famous people. Volunteers were able to submit their memories via a website and app. The most popular occasion turned out to be 2011's Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton which was described by more than 200 people.
Picks uploaded to the tablet computer include:
A former student of Alan Turing remembering the computer pioneer's achievements before his death in 1954.
A teenager delivering a rap about his memories of 2011's London riots.
The BBC presenter George Alagiah telling how he and his family moved from Sri Lanka to Ghana in 1961, before he came to the UK.
"The digital nature of the project required a digital device to present to Her Majesty, and The Queen will be able to press 'play' on the tablet before watching a video of some of the best Jubilee time-capsule entries," said Danny Sriskandarajah, director of the Royal Commonwealth Society charity.
The organisation said it had at one point considered using an Apple iPad, but ultimately opted for Samung's tablet after discussing the project with both firms. The device will be stored at Windsor Castle as part of the Royal Collection. It already includes other digital products - such as PCs and DVDs - as well as art, furniture and other memorabilia spread across 13 residences. It is held in trust by the Sovereign for her successors and the nation.

HTC Desire and Legend now up on Amazon UK

soon as MWC was over, Expansys already was making pre-orders available for HTC’s latest handsets that were featured during the event – the HTC Desire, HD Mini, and Legend. Following closely, Amazon UK is now offering the same trio of handsets with some larger than life price tags associated with them – fortunately though, it’s looking like some of them will make their way to UK consumers by April 1 at the earliest. The powerhouse HTC Desire can be fetched for £528 ($795) while the uni-bodied HTC Legend can be taken for £400 ($602) – both having an estimated arrival date for April 1. If you’re a Windows Mobile fan, the HTC HD Mini will cost the least amount out of the three at £369 ($556) with an availability date of April 14. Of course you can dish out some serious cash now to guarantee yourself one of these bad boys before anyone on your block can find one in stores – plus you won’t be required to sign those lengthy contracts; but still expect to wait some time before the actual handset arrives at your front door.

GameSpot is a video gaming website that provides news, reviews, previews, downloads, and other information. The site was launched in May 1, 1996 by Pete Deemer, Vince Broady and Jon Epstein. It was purchased by ZDNet, a brand which was later purchased by CNET Networks. CBS Interactive, which purchased CNET Networks in 2008, is the current owner of GameSpot. GameSpot.com is currently one of the 200 highest-trafficked websites according to Alexa.[3]
In addition to the information produced by GameSpot staff, the site also allows users to write their own reviews, blogs, and post on the site's forums. The forums are partially shared with those on GameFAQs, another website owned by CNET.
In 2004, GameSpot won "Best Gaming Website" as chosen by the viewers in Spike TV's second Video Game Award Show,[4] and has won Webby Awards for several years. Other gaming websites such as IGN, 1UP.com, and GameSpy have been its biggest rivals. The domain gamespot.com attracted at least 60 million visitors annually by 2008 according to a Compete.com study.[5]
GameSpot's main page has links to the latest news, reviews, previews, and portals for the following current platforms: Wii, Nintendo DS, PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo 3DS. Oh my god, its BEAUTIFUL! Just look at that design .. ! Imagine that beauty with the next exynos processor, a HD resolution, 1.5 Gig of ram and who know what else..
What do you think?
Sammobile's thread says this:
"The picture above could be true for several reasons: Weber Shandwick is one (or even the) largest PR agency in the world, including here in Germany, Weber Shandwick operates in several sectors, along with Samsung. (This is also very good, I made the best possible experience with those so far). The picture could also originate from an internal document at Weber Shandwick, which to hold a Unpacked event on intended to holdon May 22nd!
So what can we see if we take a clo.es look at this picture. To start with the bezel it is really really small!
We see a shutter-button for the camera FINALLY.
Besides, the design fits the Galaxy S3. Loudspeaker front, above and below the display- a perfect match to the current design line from Samsung. Look at the Galaxy S WiFi4.2 or 1.10 of the Galaxy note, both are the display next to the speakers!
If true, the picture above, it also directly teaser unpacked a Samsung event for 22 May in London - in my opinion, very likely. On 22 May announce where a few weeks later, the Olympic Games will begin to quickly put on the market on time and to have the Olympic Games 2012 Samsung Galaxy S3 in the shops. In my view, could vote at Reddit surfaced image that is so loose - I hope even on it. Then you would have a date and place, I can plunder my account for the plane and the speculation goes in another direction!
May 22nd is the approximate date that the London Olympic Torch Relay starts – of which Samsung are a major sponsor – so this date and event in London make total sense.

Do they compensate the devs , Lets say someone sells a game for $/£ 5.00 and they sell it cheap , surely thats a bit unfair to the dev as they are not guaranteed to make a profit like that ( the dev , not Google obviously as they will recuperate the sales).
Google had a similar sale last year. Lots of apps for 25 cents.
I wonder too.. there should be a ToS hidden somewhere in Play Store :S
Not sure if Google pays devs their original value, but there's an excuse not to bail either since.... their apps will get a boost in "Top Paid Apps" ^^

the discount only applied for top apps, and since those are paid apps, they are already on the top paid apps list, so the boost in top paid apps means nothing, I think Google subsidies them.
I bought a couple of those. Smart tools and Sketchbook pro. Not bad for fifty four cents.
I always buy something during the sales.

Just because you work at Samsung, doesn't mean you have a Samsung device. So I'm sure it's real.

Hmm, I'm sure it's bad if they are tweeting from a competitor's device for their own media messages?
Please have some sense...
You are right, maybe not all Samsung employee's have a Samsung device, but as a company procedure social media should be done from Samsung devices?
If this is true then what the people at Samsung are telling us is that " hey we are selling you crap we don't consider is better than an Iphone ".
The S3 wasn't released on May 3rd right?
The bad thing is I remember looking at this very tweet and didn't even notice

A right **** up there, bit like the footballer Ozil from Real Madrid whom Nike filed a lawsuit against after he was seen play some games wearing Adidas boots, this may not be quite as serious but given that this the official Samsung twitter (shi*ter more like)
and whoever posted this done so from an iPod or iPhone (it says both) it doesn't look very good at all.
I bet whoever did that either:
a) was not from Samsung, but from a PR firm hired by Samsung to handle social medias, such as Twitter, FB, G+, etc
b) does not work for Samsung ANYMORE!
I bet my coins on option (a) above since it has been very common for large corporations to hire firms specialized in digital medias to handle their PR. Such firms not only have control of the social media profiles, but they also create a lot of hype and buzz using fake or unsuspicious profiles and blogs.
I have dated a girl that worked in a firm like that... once I completely understood what she does I couldn't respect her anymore, so I ditched in 3.2 seconds.
It's funny! Apple puncture.
maybe dirty marketing strategies
LOL hahaha
