Are you stock? Any custom rom has the stock browser you might be able to just move to system/app and set permissions <-- needs root however

Erm
You can just check install apps from unknown sources in the security part of your settings. On a side note, please watch this video...

Thanks for the link to the video:thumbup:
After searching it looks like nobody has successfully installed the stock ICS browser on the n7 without having to root the device.
I'll just start getting used to chrome then

It is your nexus saying screw Facebook...if I was a nexus 4 I wouldn't want Facebook on me either.

I am with djwyman. Don't install FB app on your phone please. It is a piece of ****e software. Instead use your browser, chrome or Firefox. Works rather well.

OP, I do not know the source of that error, but from the screenshot it looks like you are using a custom rom. Try deleting some cwm backups. If that fails, do a factory reset and start over.

Best browser for flash player?

I was able to view flash content with the stock browser on my note 2 but I am not able to on my s4. Does anyone know how to fix this or what browser would you recommend that supports flash player? Thanks in advance.

I am also having the same problem even though I have the same flash installed that worked on my S3..
Firefox beta or boat browser.

bump. .. to see if anyone has gotten flash to work with the stock browser. Even though it is a bit gimmicky, I would like to take advantage of the quick scroll feature.

Is the stock browser still the android "browser" or is it Chrome now?
If it is chrome that explains why it doesnt work. I am pretty sure that flash doesnt work with chrome.

Yeah, that's why I was asking. Don't have the phone yet myself. Tomorrow!
It is stock Android. That is the only one compatible with the smart scroll at the moment.

Would it be possible to port the Galaxy S3's browser to work with the Galaxy S4? As I understand it, the Galaxy S3 browser supports flash

[Q] How to get emotions for Instagram?

How do I get all these cool emotions I always see on instagram? Is it an iPhone only thing? I'm running on stock ROM and I'm not rooted. Also I use stock Google keyboard.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
It's called "emoji" and you must have a rom that supports emoji in order to use them and no it's not icrap specific

Change the default browser.

Hello.
I flashed PandroidAndroid rom and I wanted to ask if it is possible to delete Android Browser and use Chrome Browser as a system browser.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Yes. Just install chrome and it'll ask if you want it to be default. Or you can delete Browser.apk from system/app.
Go to settings > apps then choose the android browser. Scroll down and press clear defaults.
Next time you open a link or anything else that redirects to a browser chose chrome and press always.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I wonder why you'd want to do that, but yes.
You can either just set chrome as default browser or delete the AOSP one completely.
When you open a link, you should be prompted with a selection of all installed browsers. Just choose the one you like.
Still, I'd recommend against chrome due to performance and privacy concerns.
Thank you all.
I want the Google Chrome to be undeleteable like the system apps(Google Maps for example).

You can use titanium backup pro to both uninstall the Android Browser and convert chrome to a system app.

Note that whenever you update your ROM the AOSP browser will be reinstalled again so you'll have to repeat the process.
