So, back to my original question - where cn I buy one - who is good to import from?

I have one for sale brand new and not been opened right here next to me. Comes with Silicon skin and screen protector. Will only delivery to UK only please pm me if your interested me asap as I am going to put it on ebay soon if not.

Got mine from Ebay Ecell £380, they got it to me with-in 2 days even though they say 6-10 days.
I think it is the HK version, However it started up in english and I have no trouble on the Android market etc.
This is a very good Tab.

I don't believe it's going to available in the UK soon so why not saving a lot of money and order it in Hongkong at panamoz.com? They're very reliable. Got mine there, paid by Paypal and then I got tracking information soon. Ordered it on 06/01 and it was in London 11/01. They pay all duty and import taxes for you.

been 4 days now
waiting for them to ship it!
they say they wait for money to clear on their bank account, but i suspect they are just getting it somewhere else in the world and shipping them

Hey guys - United States person looking to import here - the English that is on it, is it UK version or NA version (or is selectable between both?)
It might be a stupid question but I'd love to import it instead of waiting for Verizon to get it in a years time...

The English is selectable either UK or NA, just got mine yesterday and using with tmobile in NJ.

Panamoz
I bought a 16gb 3G version from Panamoz. I ordered it 17th Jan (evening time) and it arrived on 20th Jan (morning). I selected English UK language during start up and rooted it straight away using the guide for 'root.zip' found in xda forums. It's already done an OTA update (I thought rooting would stop this!). It's working great. I highly recommend Panamoz AND The 7.7 Tab!
I've been using it with a UK T-Mobile sim with no issues, also various WiFi hotspots all appear to work OK.
I don't know of any difference between EU and HK versions, other than language options - but I may be wrong!

mine too - was skeptical but arrived on 3rd day

Does the Panamoz version comes with the IR port?

Negri Electronics has the 3g version but not the wifi only. My guess is that pretty much all that are out there are HK stock which means no IR.

Almost a deal breaker for me, I was hoping to use the 7.7 as a remote as well :-(

Probably will be hard to get it in Europe and if you buy it in US you will probably pay aditional taxes

According to some sites in the Netherlands it will be available in the Netherlands in September. So I guess that Europe will be getting it around September

Last time I checked, the UK was still in Europe, and we have the Nexus 7!

From what I red here, it will be available on Google Play and in SFR shops (one of the four French big carriers).
Not sure the availabilty in the shop is guaranteed at the beginning, but for early December it should be OK.

Well, I heard there was a scandal last year because they started selling locked Gnex.
I'm pretty sure they won't make the same mistake this time
As for the price, none can tell already, not sure if they will align theirs with Play Store ones (299/349 € for a 8/16 GB)

The price ? Here in France, unfortunately, it is almost always 1$=1€ (due to value added tax, customs, ...)
The simlock ? It would surprise me. Anyway, bootloader is unlocked, that means root, that means usually pretty easy to remove a potential simlock.

It says they will have them end of November.
I just checked on their website if they are selling the Nexus 7 Tablet.
They do, for example the 16GB version. Unfortunately, I think they still have the old price (249€, and google changed it recently to 199, 249 being the 32GB now)

Apparently, SFR and others will sell it a bit more expensive to compensate... But still, if you have an address, you can order like 2 days before arrival and you may have it

I live in France, and don't think sfr send the phone alone. (I mean with no contract).
And you can be sure, it was sim locked.(like all our phone).
The simply way for you to have a simfree phone in December in France is shop (Fnac, Boulanger, PhoneHouse) they are many in Paris.

Well.. the subject says a lot about my concern..
But the specific issue would be: Will I get the Android updates in India, if I'm using a N4 bought from UK?
PS: I believe there won't be any radio issues because they are anyway selling same N4's worldwide! Please confirm, someone?

Yes you should get the updates and your calling / internet should work with your Indian service provider frequency too.

That's not true, there is no such thing as a "UK Account" all Google Accounts are international. My dad bought a One X in India with a Google Account he made there, and he brought it back to Australia, and it's fine. Jellybean Update, the lot. However, there are a bunch of Indian apps, like Bollywood Music Streaming, and AirIndia, that are still on the phone. But besides, that it's great.

But the bigger question is, what would be the price?
Nexus 7 launched at 17,000, almost a double of what it meant in $$ exchange terms!

Hi all!
I have a friend, who lives in Hong Kong and would be able to easily buy and get the phone back to me (his sister is an air stewardess) so yay for me. The 64gb option works out to be about £410-420 taking into account currency rates, which is a massive saving!
Problem is:
1) I can't check the Hong Kong version of the Google store so I can't check the availability but my friend says it's not there yet. Does anyone know when they usually stock it? I've tried using Hola extension to see if I could emulate an Hong Kong I.P address but didn't get anywhere with that.
2) Will be any band issues etc if I was to use the phone here with a sim-only contract here in the UK? How would after-sales work?

The best way is to ask your friend to order one sim free in the UK and send it to HK. So that you can enjoy the VAT free but to pay £20 something for delivery. Then send it back to UK for you. You will also have the local customer service in the UK.

Hmm yes that is an option but then I'll have to deal with getting the tax back etc. I think I'll risk it with getting one from HK as it'll be a bit more straight forward. There doesn't seem to be any quality control issues does there?! Hopefuly I'll get a good one and won't ever need to worry about returning it etc..

No, I'm saying the HK should be the international version with UK bands fully supported. The US version only supports some of the UK LTE bands.

I trust my friend to get the device and everything...but not his speed in replying back to me/actually doing it lol and I'm worried it'll get sold out.
He thinks it will be easier/available in local shops like Fortress and Broadway. What do you think? Did the 4, 5 and 6 come out as soon as it was for sale online?

6P - i think it is not so hot in HK, i do search several forum, just only few discussion, may be it comes form strange black color stripe at the back, and her brand "Huawei" this phone just fit for Nexus fans like me, so I guess it won;t be sold out soon
for the local shop sales, it seems it is different to the past, as 5X start online sales yesterday, there is no local sales yet, in the past, shop sales start 1-2 weeks prior online

You mis-read the website, only certain areas in Hong Kong cannot purchase directly from the HK Play Store. There IS a Play Store in HK. But thanks for trying.
