1. Save your downloaded files on your External SDCard, Files are as follows:SuperSU.zip, zip file for the kernel of your choice from the kernel threads posted above, and ROM of your choice from the ROM threads posted above. Make sure the your downloads are in zip file and are flashable using Clockwork mode recovery
2. Proceed with the flashing of files you have downloaded by shutting down your note:
a.) when your phone is off: press volume up+home button+power button (note: once the Galaxy note logo appeared release the power button and there you go, you are on the stock recovery mode of your phone. Choose apply update from sdcard and select install SuperSU. Check if you are already rooted by rebooting your phone, look for SuperSU App on your application drawer. (You can also check if you are really rooted by downloading root validator or root checker from the playstore)
3. If you are already rooted, go back to recovery mode(Vol up+home+power) and flash a safe kernel you have downloaded on the kernel repository.(kernel of you choice). Choose update from SDcard and select the kernel zip file.
4. Make sure your on a safe kernel before flashing your JB ROM of Choice, read the installation procedure and OP from the ROM links posted above.

Yep, and there are so many different tolls available, that unless you actually perform the procedure, you don't know if it is absolutely accurate or complete

[Q] N7000DXLA1_N7000OLBKL2_XME - Kernel (Malaysia)

Dear Chainfire,
Can you help to make CF-Root for this N7000DXLA1_N7000OLBKL2_XME - Kernel that can update from CWM?
Please go to CF-Root thread and download the firmware to revert to older rom plus root. Then
1) buy Chainfire's Odin Mobile and use it to flash N7000DXLA1_N7000OLBKL2_XME.
or
2) flash any custom ROM via CWM recovery.

No feedback at all from Chainfire.......
Just update to this latest version.
Lighting fast and solves the problem of hanging and inability to read the apps in Ext SD. So fast has not experience that problem yet - touch wood.
Has a few Launcher Installed (ADW, 360, & Go Launchers) all working well.
Still has the original Tw Launcher but hardly it now.
Quite happy with the stock rom now. Has no intention to root it, yet.
Will continue to wait for updates from Samsung and hope ICS will come along soon.

Hi mate
Can you get into recovery mode to flash another rom ? If not follow one of the rooting guilds in the android dev forums. I had loads of trouble rooting my note and getting everything to work. Don't worry I was in your situation and you can get out of it just have a look at all the rooting guides. In the end from what I remember I flashed via PC Odin a stock pre rooted version of ICS think it was the nordic version i then flashed the rom I wanted through recovery CWM
Hope this helps
Abyssnote is for GB, thats why u cant boot back into ICS. Suggest PC Odin and flash Stock ROM from here :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 (try different ones of WIFI no-good) plus follow rooting instructions contained therein. If tar file, use Odin, if zip, use Abyss (Just reboot straight back into it)
PS: Dont flash or wipe on stock ICS or CF-Root- ICS Kernels.

Relax man. What is this aggression for?
-----
@op AbyssNote is for Gingerbread.
Use only ICS kernels on ICS not even CM9.
Flash stock ICS rom. Root it then flash SpeedMod or NoteCore kernel using HC K-Tool.
id suggest he revert back to stock rom and read a lot before doing any stunts with his phone.

Don't panic. Flash any ics kernel such as franco r6 or speedmod k3-6 by using "PC ODIN", then you will be fine.
Bear in mind, if u use pc odin to flash kernel u will get binary count increase and yellow triangle. But don't worry, you can use "move triangle" to reset the binary count to zero and remove the triangle.
Good luck.

Good to know. Could you please provide step-by-step detail. I have JB 4.1.2 XXLSJ installed on the GT-I9100. I tried ODIN v1.85 and 3.04 but it does not take the Philz CWM 3.1 zip file. It looks for tar, smd, md5, gz, tgz. What steps do I need to take to make this file work with ODIN?

Can anyone here please give me a kernel for ROOTING XWLSK jelly bean OFFICIAL Update for INDIA? I want to keep my official Stock ROM, I DO NOT WANT ANY FANCY MODS. I just need a kernel which I can flash to get ROOT and stay as close to the Official Stock ROM XWLSK as possible. Can anyone help??? Hasn't CHAINFIRE made a CF-ROOT KERNEL for JELLY BEAN YET???
Re: [4.1.2][GT-I9100] Official Jellybean for INDIA! (XWLSK)
For rooting use the CF's SuperSU CWM zip from stock recovery.
PHONE: I9100
ROM: XWLSN
MODEM: XXMS2
KERNEL: Siyah 6.0b4

What the hell.. M unable to upgrade, both OTA and KIES throwing errors as in server busy type.

Root XWLSK
You can use Siyah Kernel "‘Siyah-s2-v6.0b5.tar‘ for rooting your Galaxy S2 I9100 on XWLSK Android 4.1.2 firmware update. Simply flash the same using ODIN.
If the phone goes into a loop, go to recovery mode and do a wipe cache. It should fix the issue.
I have used mobile ODIN app to select the file "I9100XWLSK" and then for kernel "Siyah-s2-v6.0b5.tar" with options wipe checked.
Also, checked the USB Debugging option and then clicked on Flash.

can anybody post the CWM of the modem.

Why the hell would you flash this buggy rom instead of the stable European ones.

Which Official Samsung Jelly Bean ROM is the best according to you? One that would work in India too. Give the Download Links for the ROM and the ROOTING Kernel too. So far I am having a major problem finding a WORKING KERNEL to ROOT this new update XWLSK.

Attached is CWM SU zip. Download and copy to your external sd card>Power Off phone>Press the Volume up+Home+Power key>Choose the option to apply upgrade from external storage>Choose the zip>Select "Yes">Reboot your phone.
This will root your phone and install Super SU. There is no cf root kernel and in most probability there will not be one. Understand that your device is ~2 years old, the world has moved on to better devices...

How in the world do you know that this ROM is buggy?? Did they use a special process to induce bugs, something that did not happen with the "European ones"?:cyclops:

I can't flash the CWM SU zip in the recovery mode because there is no CWM installed after flashing the XWLSK Official ROM. Now what to do?
EDIT: Ok. So I used my brains and first flashed Siyah Kernel "‘Siyah-s2-v6.0b5.tar‘ for rooting after getting the XWLSK on my phone. does not work on its own and the phone goes into a boot loop. But it does install the CWM so I can flash your CWM SU Zip file from the recovery mode. I reboot. BUT STILL THE PHONE Is GOING IN a BOOT LOOP. Can someone give me something that WORKS on the XWLSK???? So far NOTHING HAS WORKED TO ROOT XWLSK. Should I get rid of this XWLSK rom and get XWLSN????? Pls advice ONLY if you KNOW

This is no valid reason for things not to work on the SGS II. The SGS II was the BEST phone available at the time I bought it nearly two years ago. I bought it on the first day it landed in India.

I'm saying this because of my past experience with Indian roms . They always had few bugs the 4.0.3 update had many bugs . ALso the battery life is not as good as we get in european firmwares

Thanks mate, I was finally able to get root using the Siyah-s2-v6.0b5.tar. I figured that an App called LBE Privacy guard was interfering with it and I uninstalled it. After that your Siyah-s2-v6.0b5.tar has worked. :good:
