You cannot sign-in to the emulator with any kind of account. It is disabled. It is meant for testing apps, so not everything on the emulator is enabled.

tanks very much cruisin. I am really appreciated
inmarsat - have you seen another emulator other than the ones built into evc? It would be cute. The evc one is most (or only!? )useful for developers I guess.

the key point is not evc, it's wether the emulator is a PPC one or an mobile phone one, coz they have got different OS
I think
EVC has an emulator for PPC and Smartphone, Win Mobile 2003 and Win Mobile 5 I think. Just download each of the SDKs.

ok

both from microsoft website? i only found ppc emulator with evc. anyway, il have a look at it as you suggested.
thanks 4 ur suggestion!
of course, your code needs to be compiled to run on the emulator. You can't just take normal StrongArm (ie real) PDA programs and run them on the emulator.
Hope the info helps. BTW, I think microsoft will post out free demo disks of the SDKs and visual studio if you look around on the website.

Hi.
The "emulators" inside the PPC 200x SDKs / WinCE SDKs are not really emulators.
They can be seen as swappers, because they do not emulate ARM processors.
If you need a real PocketPC / Smartphone emulator with real ARM emulation,
than try google: "device emulator", "Windows CE 5.0 Device Emulator", "device emulator 1.0"
You will find (an unofficial) emulator/ emulators, which is/was/were also developed by $Micro****$.

Sky By Mobile

Has anyone got Sky By Mobile working on a M3100?
If so how did you do it as sky say the software isnt available...
Urghhhh
Thanks
Mark
Not to hijack but i have also been looking for a solution to this, i can install the java midlet and run but there is no logon button, i think some genius could get this working with a small modification.
Are you guys referring to Sky+ programming by mobile? If so I've tried and failed downloading the program from Sky. I'd be most interested if anyone can get this working.
Yes that is what I am talking about..
I did get a java version from somewhere that was for an different phone but it doesn't work...
I would be very interested if anyone can get this working...

RUNESCAPE

Can you play it via terminal server on the Universal? How does it work? I looked at it on the laptop and it looks like a bit of fun. How can you do it on the XDA?
well how are you connected to the internet,
you on a network?
thats what i am on but i think i understand other types
I run a wireless network to a cable modem. A couple of laptops and my XDA run through the WIFI onto the internet. I was really just wondering of the XDA can run the java environment. Maybe I have misunderstood what you are doing.
The terminal service uses your computer as an operating system (so java is compatiable)
but its more of a link
i want to see java on the universal itself
my xda has something called MidLET manager in the plain old programs folder. it apparently runs java apps but i've never tried it.
that wont work, its because its a sun java pc app
maybe i should try the linux thing

SSH client

Hi.
I bought my new HTC Snap yesterday!
It is a very good phone, but I absolutely need a SSH client on it.
I used PocketPutty on my old TytnII, but it doesn't work on the Snap.
I also need a Microsoft Remote Desktop connection software to connect to Windows clients.
Could you help me please?
Thank you very much!

I tried that but the Snap doesn't have java installed (at least not the verizon ozone) and I cannot find a Java VM that will run it.
My HTC Snap comes with JBlend Java. I have installed MidpSSH and it works
I am using zaTelnet :
http://www.zatelnet.com/
and it just work fine
I tried installing MidpSSH on Dash 3G with Java JBlend, and I get the error "Installation failed, errno=910 Application authorization failure" Anybody else have similar issue, and solve it?
I'm using Token2Shell/Mobile, works great.

[Q] ssh client for terminal emulator

hi, having just switched away from using cm rom's the one thing i'm really missing is their inclusion of openssh, so i was wondering if anyone has built cm's openssh as a standalone app? or is that even possible? thing is i've tried all the ssh apps on play but none of them will provide the raw ssh command for use in the terminal emulator so asking here is my last hope of finding a solution lol
tia for any help
