[Q] Difference between "Development" and "Original development" forums?
As the title says, whats the difference between "Development" and "Original development" forums?
There's no threads in either to give me any clues.

At least I'm not the only one that's clueless. lol

The Original Development area is intended for posting of new work, which isn’t derived from existing work on XDA (in whole or significant part).

Android Development is more for customized versions of other roms/kernels, like cm10, paranoidandroid, aokp.
Original Android Development is for original development. Like a kernel that isn't based on anything but AOSP.

Thank you for the answers everyone. Feel like a right noob now!

[Q] About DroidRoms

Hi There
I'm new but, as a noob I try many Android "distrib" (Froyo 2.2, Matt 1.x,...), and so DroidROMs from many sources (Chuck, Energy...), but...
Could it be possible to found them (DroidRoms) in a specific part as Android Development, Android General Discution, ROMs... ?
It's maybe stupid, but I still believe that could be a good thing for our Android usage
Thanks for reading
Sure.
[I don't understand what this thread is about.]
I think OP is asking for a new forum section. I'm not sure if he wants one just for android builds or one for android friendly WM roms.

I think both wouldn't be a bad idea.

4 Moderators: Please read. ROMs section request.

Was wondering if we can get a ROM section with all ROMs in one place?
That would be sweet.
The dev section is more or less a rom section.
I don't think a separate section is needed, but what would help is a common format to identify threads which contain ROM's. For example, starting a ROM thread with "[ROM]". Iced Glacier is an example of a ROM thread that doesn't follow that format and therefore doesn't stand out as much as it could.
Maybe a sub section within the dev area....
Have you checked out the Wiki?

Section 1.4 sounds like exactly what you are looking for.
Nice suggestion but no need to clutter the forums section as its already classified under Dev. Now I understand it maybe little hard for new users to get use to on what is what from thread title. But one must do research on howto and find it for themselves as if you brick it you are responsible for your own actions.
Best thing I can tell new user is they ask the folks in General or Q&A section to help them list stable roms and report their user feedback on pro/con about the rom this way you can get many input and ultimately flash it yourself and decide.

Oh nice.
Thanks

Realistically, seasoned users have no issues finding roms in the dev section, and new users shouldn't even be aloud to read thre dev section until they've been here for a while and have the chance to learn a little bit so they have a clue before they start trying to flash their phones.

What's the difference between N7 Android development and N7 original development?

I noticed they both have ROMs and stuff.
I was wondering the same thing as well and found THIS thread contained some useful information.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
So that means I can flash original development roms and android development roms to my N7?

original android - android development - what?

Ever since XDA split forums with these two separate android development forums its confused me.. can anyone clarify?
(a) Stuff like this should go in the Q&A forums.
(b) Your answer is right there in the stickies at the top of the Original Dev and Android Dev forums, in the "Rules and Guide for posting in _____".
Real quick before this gets locked "Android Development" is For TW based roms Original Development" is for AOSP
You could tell that by entering each of the above mentioned threads.
YES......

You could see it in their stickies, or just look at some of the topics.

[Q] quick question

I have a verizon dev edition.
I've normally just ran the roms in the android development section.
With this unified section do all the roms work for all carriers? So will any of these work on Verizon?
If you guys wouldn't mind, is t here one rom here that is more stable then others or stable enough for daily use?

Unified will only work on US T-Mobile variant and a bunch of over seas models. If you have ATT, Verizon etc the unified is not your section. Please move this to Q&A now

Questions or even "quick question" and especially topics that are not titled correctly, ie descriptive of content do not belong in a "development" forum.
If you take a look at the threads in this forum can you spot the blatantly odd one out?
Questions belong in the "Q&A" forum.
