Nexus 4 sar rating - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone can answer me what is the exactly SAR rating of nexus 4 ?
thanks.

bump for curiosity ..
Would also be good to know the SAR rating for Europe!

Thanks for this thread. I'm a little interested but i'll buy one anyway

I'm not sure which value they pick out of all of these to put on the side of the box, but here is the full report:

Hmmm...searching through the web, I have to admit that most LG phones tend to have significantly higher SAR ratings than e.g. samsung phones have. The Optimus L7 has 0,762 W/kg, what is quite a lot...the S3 has 0.342 W/kg...
I´m kind of afraid now...^^

I'm really interested, too.
Couldn't find it yet but it should come out before 13th November anyway.
Any news really appreciated.
Rob

Sorry, looks like you have to come from the FCC site. Go to the link below and click "SAR Report no photos"
https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/repo...Frame=N&application_id=876809&fcc_id='ZNFE960'

so highest possible SAR Value of Nexus 4 is 1.270 W/kg ...
why there is no GSM 900 measurement for Europe?

GSM now corroborates this info: 0.55 W/kg (head) / 1.27 W/kg (body)
To compare, here are the rsults of other popular phones:
GSIII: 0.55 W/kg (head) / 1.49 W/kg (body)
One X: 0.68 W/kg (head) / 0.70 W/kg (body)
Note 2: 0.23 W/kg (head) / 0.95 W/kg (body)
Galaxy Nexus: 0.40 W/kg (head) / 0.74 W/kg (body)

That's pretty high.

Indeed.

I just reacted to this myself, does not feel that good considering the reception here is terrible.
Probably need to get a BT headset.

On the topic.
Very good documentary film about this...

No studies show any affect has yet. If you are really bothered wear a tin foil hat when using a phone.

Because Bluetooth works on magic pixie dust, not microwave radio?

i m also interested to buy a nexus 4 and i found this
so according to this doc. the eu versions is less dangerous than the us version(i hope this is true, otherwise i ll leave this phone...)
anyway a tip, that probably no one knows
to preserve your head(ie the brain) you have to use an headset with a ferrite ring

and, just to warn everyone: when you are in a car and you make or receive a call the sar level is *10
some phones do 81+ V/m in a car (To have a tumor, this is the right way)
so pay attention! Do not joke with your health

It's the same device wherever you buy it... This is a difference in measurement methods, not the device. So please don't buy it, else you'll cook your noggin.

Because the phone knows it's in a car and activates 'death-ray Tx mode'? Then again, if you're stupid enough to use a mobile phone while driving without handsfree you're a lot more likely to have a fatal crash than get a brain tumor.

Stick your head in a microwave oven, disable the safety interlock and cook for 30 minutes - is the right way to get a tumor. But you probably won't care because your blood will boil first.

Rom idea - Thug Rom

With my aquisition of thomspon clinical xpert I had an epiphany on the type of rom I eventually want to create. It would include things such as handy sniffer, bluezard, sniffi, a mac address changer, thompson clinical xpert and some form of an app that can measure weight via the touchscreen (digital scale). lol..

No, and it looks like cloning the mac address of a wlan then running wifirouter to collect arps to procure mac addresses to access mac address secured wlans is non-existent at this time as well.

You want to make an app that turn your tochscreen into a digital scale?!?!?? Who said being a "geek" wasn't cool. If possible i wonder what the range would be??? Even just a couple grams would be awesome
I just want to see a rom solely dedicated to pentesting. All out, cain_ppc.arm, etc, etc.
Lol, i like your idea.. a Weed weight Scale
handy for all those junkies out there.. including me
Weed Scale?!?? Who would need a weed scale *puff - puff - pass * *cough* cough* ... I dont think we promote the use of such substances here.... The PC term would be a "jewelers scale"
Hmm... Touchscreen scale...
You know what, that is theoretically possible. Touchflo programs have a pressure measurement associated with them and it shouldn't be all that difficult to utilize the same api (and a few calculations) to get an accurate measurement of (up to) a few grams.
Damn, I wish I had time to play around with this.
If anyone could point me in the right direction for the api's or NETCF 3.5 classes to look at, I may be able to come up with something. I just don't have time to do the searching myself.
I get pissed off when I get tobacco on my phone's screen from having it in my pocket with a pack of cigarettes ...
so I can't imagine using it to weigh weed or any other powdery substances... Plus in my opinion, these types of dealings would require a degree of precision that I don't know most people would want to trust their phone for ... when it wasn't made specifically for.
I think you should stick to a good ole AWS

I think the screen scale app would be great. Even if it isn't accurate to the 9th decimal place.

Agreed. Sandwich bags weigh nothing...
Imagine the look on their faces when you whip out your phone/scale.
Where I come from a sandwich bag weighs .2g . (depending on size) Seems like this idea is getting some play. I'm gonna have to do a little research. This may have been attempted before.

Just before ascending on his powered grappling hook, Batman assesses if he can carry Vicky to safety with himself.
Batman (to Vicky Vale): How much do you weigh?
Vicky: A hundred ten...
Batman: Here, hop on my Wing, it's all I carry on my utility belt, besides this grappling hook, but I digress.
The screen cracks.

Ahh , I see your point.
AGPS == normal gps plus the option of getting help from gsm antennas not something which use gprs at all of cause not all operators support it
but our current x1 is also agps but I never use it I just stick with normal gps
most people seem to confuse agps with that using 3 gsm antennas thing which it's not

so bottom line is that it's the same gps as x1

10-14 hrs battery life on 4 D batteries... not bad
4 D cell batteries? Any image showing them or how they get put in?
I'm interpretting it as meaning that the battery can be replaced fairly easily by the user if it starts loosing the ability to loose charge.
As in not something you would do every day, more after a year of use etc.
Just speculating though...

It would be good if the batteries were swappable as in 'Nokia Battery' sense rather than when they are worn out sense. Still, just being changable yourself with Notion Ink approval is a good start.

Thanks for the image, its interesting to note that there is alot of space between the motherboard and the ports, one of the reasons why the bezel is so big is because Rohan mentioned that was due to the ports. But it looks like it can have gotten a smaller bezel by positioning the ports all to one side or at the bottom.

I don't think that these images shows the real product, they take it in june.
You can see that there's no camera on this picture :
http://nifaq.pbworks.com/w/page/34160809/2d-–-Power-and-Battery
The only lithium batteries I know of in the round configuration are A123 brand batteries. They are lithium, but slightly different chemically. They run at 3.6v nominal as opposed to 3.7v, but are safer, more stable and have longer lifespan before needing replaced. I would know for sure If I knew the voltage of the battery pack.

Better Batteries.
With the pictures in the latest 'Factory Shots,' these cells look like standard 18650-style cells. I have seen unreliable claims of up to 3.2Ah per cell for a Chinese cell. And a more reliable 2.9 Ah for a Panasonic cell.
http://www.aliexpress.com/product-g...ells-NCR18650-2-9-Ah-2900mAh-wholesalers.html
http://www.aliexpress.com/product-f...lithium-battery-3200mAH-3-7V-wholesalers.html
The Adam's 24.6Wh cells correspond to less than 2.2Ah cells. This means that we could potentially upgrade Adam from a 6-9 hour device to a 8-20 hour device.
Does this void the warranty?

I asked factory for the FM radio function, they assure me that it works with the inclued micro usb earphones.
I place my order today for a good price (112USD inclued standard shipping).
Let wait 3 weeks and i will do a complet video review

No feedback from aliexpress seller? You are game.
EC309 watch

The EC720 looks like the successor to the EC309, which had some issues (like all of the watches), you can see the similarities.
Maybe the EC309 thread might have some useful info? It's was realised two years ago.
Need to be careful it's not the same watch, re-branded... as far as I can tell it's not.

@David42290 - when are you expecting it to be delivered?
Today gearbest has this clock at 63 USD with standard shipping, just bought one. Will review and post images here when I receive it (I paid the expedited shipping and the insurance, total was 71 USD, super cheap compared to the 107 USD original price).

I want to use it as a GPS tracker for RunKeeper.
Had this for awhile. Great but has its pros and cons.
