In the EU they have to offer a 2yr warranty, it's the law. I don't know about elsewhere.

The 2 Year thing in the EU is between the buyer and the seller not the manufacturer , not a big difference but still ...

nope, not in France, I buyed from orange a sgs2, now I can go anyxwhere to repair it within the 2 years warranty

Same in the UK. If my Nexus 7 breaks (Non user-damage) in 18 months and they can't replace it or fix it, the seller has to refund me. Then I'll get the Nexus 7-2. :L

Here is what the Google play website says:
Nexus 4 limited warranty
The Nexus 4 is manufactured by LG. LG provides a limited 12 month warranty for the Nexus 4. Please refer to the warranty card in the Nexus 4 packaging for additional details.
If your Nexus 4 was purchased from Google Play, please contact Google customer support for service on the LG limited 12 month warranty.
If your Nexus 4 wasn't purchased from Google Play or you're looking for out of warranty repair service, please contact LG directly.

What about the warranty when changing the battery? Usually you cant just open the phone without losing your warranty but the n4 seems to be opened easily with the 2 torx screws

I would not say easily as from the reviews I have heard you have to work it to get it open after the screws out and run the risk of breaking the tabs and or the glass.

Buying from ebay

I live in Texas and was wondering if I need to buy a us version of the nexus or are they all the same . I can buy one today from eBay or wait a week and buy from google , I hate waiting lol.

So what are you going to do if there is something wrong with the unit? Send it to ASUS for repair?
Both 8gb and 16gb Nexus 7's are being shipped via Google Play within 3 business days now. Plus a lot of retail shops have them in stock as well for instant pickup.
Lot less risky than dealing with an Ebay seller.
Don't do it! I have yet to find a manufacturer anywhere that will validate a warranty from a eBay purchase. If you do buy it from eBay, be sure you don't mind having a device without warranty. Call Asus if you don't believe me (prior to purchase).

Will amazon or expansys also sell the Nexus 4?

Does anyone know if by December 18th Amazon or Expansys will sell the Nexus 4 16GB? (it can be other trusted companies too) I'm going to the US, fort lauderdale, florida hopefully by the 22 of december and stay for about 4 days so I'm hoping I can buy it from The Bahamas (where I live) and get it shipped to the hotel I'll be staying in or fedex's office.
I know Google Play is selling it but will I get it before four days? This is because I'm not allowed to buy it from The Bahamas so I'll have to buy it as soon as I arrive to the US What was your experience guys? Buying the Nexus 7 or other smartphones or tablets from Google Play.. how long did it take? Thanks in advance
p.s- I can pay for expedited shipping.
It should get there before 4days. Google stated it will ship that same day and its 2 day shipping.

Not sure about amazon, but I thought it was on the expansys site already? If it isn't they must have taken it off

Thanks and I must have checked expansys pre-orders everyday for like two weeks and I haven't seen it every time I searched it...
How long did it take for the other nexus devices to get to amazon? I'd really rather purchase from there even if I have to wait a bit because of the 30 day return policy, as opposed to Google's 15 day and restocking fee nonsense. (just in case, you know?)

Yesterday I sent an email to Expansys regarding the Nexus 4 so I will report here in case they are planning to sell it.

Imagine how mad every carrier/phone company would be if AMAZON started to sell Nexus4 for $350. I don't think it's likely.
I doubt Amazon will sell. Best bet is a reseller posting it on Amazon but for more than play store as it wouldn't make sense otherwise. I think this was the case with the gnex as well.

Unlocked Nexus 4 is sold at Amazon right now!
Hi good news everyone, now Amazon is selling Nexus 4, both 8 and 16GB models. And also Nexus 7 (not the 3G model by the way). This news actually just arrived a while ago because i haven't found any site reporting this.
And the good thing is, Amazon has many sellers selling Nexus 4 in many different price tags.
Find this on Google "Unlocked Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 Sold at Amazon!!"

Hi i have bought a nexus 4 off ebay that was delivered to the seller yesterday 18/12/2012.
he is sending the phone with the Google play receipt, my question it if this phone has any faults would i be able to RMA threw Google? or would they only allow the original buyer to do that? the phone is being delivered still sealed in the box.

As far as I know, yes. They're bought as gifts very often so they should be having that as a process.

I bought mine from eBay too. The seller sent me the original delivery note so I don't think there would be any problem.
Cheers :good:

How much will you get for your Nexus 4?

So, I'm assuming a large number of you will buy the Nexus 5 when it comes out. My question is this: How much do you plan to ask for your Nexus 4, assuming you plan to sell it. Do you think the fact that the Nexus 4 is sold out and obsolete will have any impact on your asking price, or more importantly, on the price a buyer agrees to?

Depends , I would shoot to sell at 200-300$
The gsm gnex still goes for 200-250 so....

Well here in India, it is still available at Local Shops, I bought the phone with Indian warranty just a month back for 418$ 16gb. I will atleast try to get 350$+ with it's 11 month warranty still left.

Check out sites such as eBay, Craigslist etc. to get an idea of what to sell the N4 for. Also keep in mind that the condition, accessories (box, original charger etc) and GB version, possibly even color (white or black version) all increase/decrease value.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
They are still available here brand new, I just upgraded to one for free but they are selling for $300 unlocked with a plan (no contract though).
So I doubt you could get much over $250 with the way people are around here. That's Canadian $$ too lol
I will ask $224.67. I will get $213.92.
As an example, I sold my GNex for €150, I could probably sell my N4 for €250.
Then again, I just got it, so I wont
I asked to trade in my Nexus 4 at one of my local shops and they said they can't take it because apparently the serial number sticker is not there. I didn't think it was in important at all. Just peeled it off when it faded. Does that mean you can never resale without that back sticker. That can't be a reason to order a replacement surely.

$200-250 will probably be the market value in the USA once the N5 comes out. What other phones with similar specs and popularity are there? The closest competition are used Galaxy S3s (which I think is inferior to the N4).

US z2 released.

Its great that its a 6503 because for those of us in the US who have the international 6503, we don't really have warranties. Maybe now we can somehow get warranty work done if needed, since the models are so close.
Sony's Xperia care has you covered, it's a global warranty program that will cover you, regardless of where you got your phone.
I say this because I bought an unlocked D6503 off eBay (Taiwan 大哥大 branding), it suffered water damage, and Sony replaced it. (The white water detection papers weren't wet, the phone must have leaked somewhere else.) So, now I have English versions of the manuals

Is that something i can buy like a square trade or extended warranty? I just googled it and it looks like a support site. I don't see a purchase Xperia Care button anywhere. I also cannot find xperia z2 on there. I'm just asking because I was thinking of going ebay with square trade.

I'd like to know this too. Just bought today after waiting for US availability and then realizing the US price was insane.
I got a new D6503, noise canceling headphones, two official docks, a 32GB MicroSDHC card and an 18-month warranty plus two day shipping for less than the phone unshipped with sales tax would've cost me from Sony.

good news for those waiting to buy / on the fence about the Z2. (like me.)
with the possibility of Sony shipping millions more of these units, maybe they've tightened up their manufacturing/quality control process, and worked out a solution to the overheating camera, the self-cracking glass, the earpiece volume, etc.
one can hope?
Newegg has it for $599

I'd really like to know more about the Sony warranty that was mentioned earlier. I am almost positive they will try to deny a warranty for a phone that was purchased outside of your region. For example if you bought a 6503 two months ago before the USA 6503 was announced, and then called Sony USA to have a warranty replacement done, they would just claim that the model nunmber isn't in their database and there is nothing they can do. I went through this with Morola last year.

They know which region it was sold for, though.
Unless somebody can show a Sony document saying this product (or Sony Xperia smartphones in general) have an international warranty, they almost certainly don't.
If anyone can afford this and obtains, please post ftf.

Just found out. US firmware is already out. What was thought was Canada's firmware as their unbranded phones is actually using US generic firmware.
