For new Android market that is rolling out now, will we will get the new Android market even if our phones have been rooted and have custom ROM on it?

I couldn't imagine them doing anything specific just to (I'm sure only momentarily) annoy people with rooted phones.
If your market works now I'd say there's a fairly good chance the new one will as well. Although I cannot confirm it.

Anyone else getting problem with it not showing your installed apps? Only showing 11 apps when I just counted I actually have 55 apps installed. Don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall all them just so they show up.

A restart and a bit patience sorted the problem.
Overall I like it. Would rather there was a my apps button on the front page but in not going to go on a murderous rampage because its missing.

From what I can see it is a very data hungry application as it can take a while to fire up when network connection is on the slow side.
i still havent got the update on my dhd.

Ye, Google did say the update (which will go on your phone auto, so no need to go to settings and update) will be with us all between now and up coming weeks.

i hope the version that goes arround is not the final one cause beside being very laggy it is buggy. it broke a market link of an installed ap while trying to update it.
also even though it showed me one app being able to update it didn't allowed me to. clicking on it brought me to the apps details page and there i could only open or uninstall it.
i could onlly update apps if i had more than one by clicking update all.
p.s. oh and not to forgot: the amount of traffic it causes is extrem! a multiplactive of the old one, as if they would not cache the images of the apps showcase on the front page.

Agreed, same problem here, uninstalled the update. Don't like the new layout, hard to find things.
I have uninstalled the update and gone back to the last version. New one is almost unusable on anything other than a perfect cell connection.

Same here but i guess i'll keep it as it looks great,just a matter of few days to get habitual of it
when i click on download in new market it is starting to download for ages
when i reset phone it download the file immediately
Am I the only one, who thinks the new Metro-look (WP7 like ) is ugly?
I dont see any slowness. The only thing that bothers me is the updates. With the old one you could see the updates right away. With this one not so direct.
Okay, I'm using windows 8 release preview x64 on my gateway desktop, and I need some help with a couple things.
First of all, metro apps will not load. I have tried several tweaks around xda and other sites and cannot get anything more than the app preview screen coming up for just a second, then closing. I have an ATI Radeon 5450HD graphics card, running proper amd catalyst drivers for windows 8, and all settings are correct.
Second, has anyone been able to get dfs tool working on windows 8? I've tried installing it in compatibility mode for windows XP, Vista, and 7, all with no luck.
Any help with either issue would be greatly appreciated... And sorry this isn't in a Q&A section, but I couldn't find Q&A forum for windows 8. TIA...

I have my Win 8 running in a VMware virtual machine. I noticed that Metro apps will timeout loading if it is taking too long.
The app eventually loads but does so minimized. Check your left side to see if it is running.
If you are seeing a lot of your apps doing this, you may need to upgrade your computer to something faster.

I understand that... But not a single one of the metro apps will start. They just bring up an app preview screen, then it drops to the background, and the app never actually opens.

I'd just reinstall. You have something wrong. Did it ever work? Maybe go back to a better point in time with System Restore.
You are logged in with a Live account, right? You can't load Metro apps with a local account (to my knowledge). You have to log on with a Live account.

It's a fresh install, I've tried on two different machines, neither of which have ever had metro apps work... And yes, I'm using a live account...

Yes, every metro app has 15 seconds to load, if it doesn't, them it will end.

Theyve never worked, even on my laptop, which has Intel integrated graphics. But, I've not tried the guide you linked... I'll try that and report back sometime today...

The guide is for and graphics only.... go to Intel driver utility And install the latest driver then try.... I had the same problem it has something to do with hardware acceleration.

Windows 8 didn't run properly on my laptop too, had some papercuts as well. The specification requirements for Windows 8 are equal to those of Windows 7. If you can run Windows 7, you can run Windows 8. So, it's all just a bit of patience before RTM and the final release become available.

It only took me about 45mins to delete all the crap that has accumulated over the last 3 year, but thanks Google what's 3 years ehhh...... :beer:
The issue of not remembering your place in the list was infuriating. Try looking for cm10 themes when it keeps going back to the start of the list! This is the single most important fix.

You could have multi selected them all at once and then delete.

Why on jesusalabuddha's earth did it take google so song to get these new....hmmmmm.....features? And to boot....I had to sideload it manually. But so far I tested....and it rocks imo.
I had trouble installing it into /data/apps/.
I also renamed the old one first before bringing in this new one.
It wouldn't let me click the INSTALL button. (the 2nd one) So I rebooted and voila, it was there installed.
I still get the NOT CONNECTED bug at least 1 out of every 3 times I try to navigate within Google Play. RETRY button always helps.
Got it working - had to rename it because I'm running inverted gapps

I just received the notification on my Nexus 7 regarding the system update, however I am at a crossroads if I should do it or not as i am currently setup with Tablet UI (DPI 160), all my apps and icons are nice and tightly displayed using Apex launcher and with all the posts stating that you cannot revert the DPI back down once you upgrade i am not sure what to do. Any advise as to why I should upgrade would be helpful.

i would wait as yoou wont really be able to mount any external storage until this stickmount or the nexus 7 mount app gets updated to work in 4.2
I am going to wait untill all the apps I use get updated where I know they will work.No use in haveing a new update if nothing works that I want to use on it.
It took hbo over a month to get working on jelly bean and some apps still don't work.I will wait and see before screwing them up because some things might take a while.:laugh:
I say wait because:
- we didn't get miracast
- new issues with bluetooth, specifically bluetooth audio with wifi enabled/active. Bluetooth audio already had issues in android, now it's worse.
- multi user is no good. Other users can't access your apps, unless they already own them. Haven't tried this yet, but from what I read.
- camera app lost funny faces. Big mouth, small eyes etc. Yes it's gimicky but I've had friends' kids laugh their asses off while using this. Why remove it?
- I'm getting lag (sometimes) again, similar to the pre 4.1.2 issues. Not all users are getting this but I am.
I was initially excited about 4.2 but disappointed now, considering rolling back.
Also no tablet UI. Its completely ripped out. Back to phablet mode. I'm enjoying it though.
Also Apex crashes immediately. So I'm using the stock launcher and everything.

Apex running fine for me. Dirty flash from CleanRom. I just had to reset it as the default. I seem to recall someone had problems when they restored their launcher settings and that wiping data for Apex fixed the issue.

I vote no. Too many glitches. Flashplayer stopped working. Panoramic mode in camera FCs camera app. I'm considering rolling back as well.
I also vote NO. Dolphin Browser won't start, Firefox crashes, cannot access Internet when tethered to my iPhone etc.

no, definitely NO! USB not working, development access required to stop Android sending every installed app back to Google, several more other apps not working (such as MX player...). No, no way, I will be switching from stock to something other with 4.1.2, because it is unusable this way...

You must be one of the lucky ones. I have been reading that the usb directories have changed due to the new instituted multi user option. Are you able to see the contents of your folder on various accounts you setup?

I just reverted back to 4.1.2 because of the issues in 4.2. I'll wait until things seem to be a bit better before I upgrade again.
Nope. Too much stuff broken with 3rd party apps. And its hot a slight case of the jitters. Project Butter seems to be on holiday.

Can you fill the rest of us in on how to get Stickmount to work?
Well I don't have multi user ATM. But all I did was I rooted with wugfresh toolkit(sorry if I spelt it wrong). And the I just plug it in and it said USB mounted or what it normally says. Yeah I can veiw my files on it. I will try with muli user on and will report later

Stick mount doesn't support multi user son only the primary user can use stick mount. And the the second user I had set up did not read USB storage. So its still working but only for primary user

I'm not sure if this has been discussed or not on the forms here. This is kind of hard to explain..Whenever I'm browsing in the Play Store app on the N10, during a download the app itself flickers (almost like its refreshing) whenever the percentage moves during the downloading process. This has happened way before the updates to the Play Store app as well. I'm running CM 10.1 (Nightly) and the issue is still there. This was one of the first things I noticed when I was running stock too. I was kind of hoping that Play Store Version 4.0.26 fixed it but I guess not.
Has anybody noticed this issue? I highly doubt this a hardware related issue. Games seem to run awesome on it.
Any ideas?

I have had the same issue since I got mine in December, running stock.
I've had this issue under JB 4.2 and ICS 4.0 on an Acer a500 and the Nexus N10, no fix found yet.
I get this too… it seems to me like a refresh issue, like the Play Store is trying to load up other images or something. Since no other app does this, I'm pretty sure it's just an app issue.
I've seen it on every rom, every version of the play Store... It may be the refresh for the download causing issues

Yes, because it makes scrolling through 'My Apps' a royal PITA. And sometimes, if its particularly fickle, it keeps returning to one single app over and over.

Still flickers for me, but at least it doesn't reset to the top of the list every time it flickers now.
Same issue when I'm viewing all my apps during download. Since I can now scroll through my apps during download I don't worry about it much anymore.

When I'm updating multiple apps, it will keep refreshing the first one to the point that I can't click on the next app in line to be updated, because I want to see what the new update has added or changed.
I have the same issue (flickering shop) on my Nexus 7. I've noticed that it happens while downloading larger files, especially games. Sometimes it freezes Google Play completely.
So far I haven't noticed it on my Nexus 10. (But it has different version of Google Play, as far as I can tell).
The latest play store 4.xx resolved my flickers.

Yup, flashing, barely able to see what was going on be it downloading an app or copying a film from a flash drive. Installed AOPK and it is fixed, one solid moving bar as it ought to be.
Mine does this as well. I just leave the play store so I don't have to deal with it. Completely stock.
I get this with paranoid android, but had it before changing. It not only flickers, but when I'm downloading, say, Gmail, and go to another app while in the "My Apps" view, it will revert back to Gmail. Very annoying.
