Need GuidedTours.apk so I can install OTA for Droid RAZR Maxx HD - RAZR HD General

I get the following error when trying to install the new OTA:

The apk just isn't there in system/app/. I had it frozen the first time I tried to install the update so that may be my issue. Haven't had any luck extracting it from the firmware dump, no tools for Windows have been able to mount the system.img.ext4 file. Can anyone here provide the file? I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!! Now it's telling me I'm missing VideoEditor.apk. Is there a good way to get these files myself from the system image in the firmware?

I tried installing this apk to fix my OTA update problem but every time i try to install it, it tells me "App was not Installed". You listed two files, an .odex file and an .apk file. To my knowledge, all i have to do is copy the apk to my phone and click on it and then click install... What am i missing?

I got that taken care of and installed the JellyBean update. Any idea's on what method is best to root it? So far mattlgroff/djrbliss's razr blade root exploit hasn't worked yet.

Ouch there is no jb root method available.you have to go back to ics using matts tool, root, use root keeper and back up root, then install jb, then reinstall root from root keeper and then update binaries.
This is assuming you're on a Verizon branded device.

US OTA ICS won't update after root...

I rooted my TPT with the yet another root exploit method while on version 0089_US, and it worked great. Then I installed RootKeeper and temporarilly unrooted. My TPT is not and never has been modified in any other way, no CWR, no apps deleted, nothing.
When I try to install the OTA ICS update, it will start to install, and then fail with some kind of assert failed error message that mentiones busybox, and then say error in /cache/update.zip.
Anybody know what's going on???
I had the same issues with the ROW update. I followed this thread (thoroughly) and got ICS with root intact.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1723048
I'm confused. The fix was:
"Restored busybox from the same file mentioned before and it worked."
How do I "restore" busybox?

Here's what I needed to do to get busybox restored and access to my stock recovery again:
1. Downloaded a previous update from Lenovo's site. (had to go two versions prior to find one with a busybox file in it).
2. Extract the Busybox file from the archive (system/xbin Directory)
3. Copy the file to your tablet
4. Using ES File Explorer or Astro, copy this Busybox over to the system/xbin Directory on your device. Note: I had trouble here with permissions that came down to a few settings in ES File Explorer (system access, write permissions, etc).
5. Reboot into recovery by pushing Vol + a few times after Lenovo appears.
Hope this helps.

Both ES File Explorer and File Manager fail when attempting to overwrite the existing busybox.
Any suggestions?

Can you verify your ES file explorer root settings (Root Explorer and Mount file system enabled). These settings are required to make changes to system files.

Thanks! That enabled me to overwrite busybox. Now, I am crossing my fingers that the OTA update works.
It started downloading directly from the "check for update" page, rather than quickly saying an update was available, and asking to reboot and install, as it had been doing. So, perhaps it checks busybox before even DLing the update.
It's taking a while to DL. I'll post results after the next reboot ad install attempt.

I saw the exact same thing after fixing busybox. Glad it worked for you (so far)!
Worked like a champ. Rocking ICS on my TPT with root.
It's really not a huge diff from HC. But, lots of little things that I had become accustomed to on my ICS phone.
The tpt does seem a little faster now. Play store is working better, too.
I just wish I could replace that stupid Lenovo quick app icon with the android app launcher icon, like on my nexus. Why do they locate the apps icon at the very top corner? Makes no sense.
I've tried all the busyboxes that I can find and still no update. Can someone post a working one?
I used the one from the 0086US update.
I found one, I used the OTA update.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507285 OTA Update.zip A310_02_0039_0086_US
Also, I kept root.

Which ones did you comment out?
Your Tablet may vary....
I started with
Build.prop
Gmail
Anything starting with Google...
MarketUpdater
MediaProvider
Mediauploader
NetworkLocation
I would comment out the line, add the new updater-script to the zip file. Try it. When it threw out an error I would comment out that line... rinse and repeat
After a time I just became annoyed and comment out all of the apply_patch_check (around 450 lines). I do not advise using this shotgun approach.

ICS OTA install busybox error
Hey guys I didn't want to start another thread because this one is very similar to the issue I am having now. My tablet asks me to install an OTA update but once its about half way done in recovery in spits out some kind of error(check attachment). When it comes to tablets Im a noob but I was wondering if you guys can give me some solid instructions on how to get past it?
Thanks in advance.

How to update to JB using DLPKGFILE and KEEP ROOT! Works!

Right, so, through a bit of trial and error using guidance from the forums, this is how I updated to JB and kept root for WW after the update originally failed.
download BOTH files from here (massive thanks to ch3mn3y):
http://www25.zippyshare.com/v/91334594/file.html
http://www1.zippyshare.com/v/96461494/file.html
then extract the .zip file.
download the command file from here (massive thanks to krabappel2548):
http://www.mediafire.com/?yq1bt16mnm7tc8d
extract it.
place the dlpkgfile and command file, both unzipped onto your tab. Use a root explorer to paste the command file into /cache/recovery and the dlpkgfile (the actual file, not the folder) to /cache.
go to Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper and temp unroot.
turn off the tab.
boot into recovery with Vol - and power, then when it says to press volume up to boot into RCK, do it.
You'll see the android with the blue wires and it will go through the install process if you have done it right. let it do its thing.
obviously, when it has settled, restore root with Voodoo.
If you get the android with red exclamation mark, i reccomend downloading the ICS zip of your current firmware and SKU and sticking it on a micro SD card, and letting it restore any programmes you've deleted.

I think I found the problem: I remember I pushed jelly bean's music2.apk in system/app! Restored the original music app.
Gonna try update again!
Now it the turn of libGLESv1_CM.so ...
Going to give it a try.
Just to make sure, is this for WW version, right?

Already got this before my update notification stopped working.
I deleted Email app, returned it back to system but seems I dont have the right version. (found in someones dropbox posted here)
Also reflashed Ww. 30 hoping this would overwrite the widget with correct version. Obviously it did not...
Would be glad for any help.
As it is MY dlpkgfile it can need MY files. I could upload /system, but first its strange to copy/paste whole android and second it is 624mb and third it will work only for rooted and at least fourth i updated my pad.
If it helps my pad was reflashed to .30 using wolfs method cos i had screen issue.

Could you please try to upload just the EmailWidget?
When I tried using OTA I got an error on Email.apk first. Then I downloaded it from dropbox and it passed. But EmailWidget did unfortunately not.
Also trying to find a tool that could extract the .30blob file. I guess the apps should be there. Found something but probably Linux only so no go for me.

[Q] Problem updating to 4.3

Hi guys
I have a bit of a problem here!
I got the ota update, wanted to install it, but failed.
So i downloaded the ota zip file from our site. ([REF] Nexus 7 Stock OTA URLs)
Went to recovery and tried to install it, and bam. Failed!
It says Something about xt9ime.apk not being in system/app or sth like that.
Can anyone help me?
Edit: i have the recovery log file if it helps! :S
If you've changed or deleted any system files, that would do it.
It's even telling you what the problem is.

Did you make sure that the permissions matched the original?
Otherwise Best is to reflash the entire ROM...

[ROM] JB-SlateROM, a custom ROM for the HP Slate 7

Disclaimer: I am NOT responsible for any damage you do to your device.
Slate 7 Plus 4200 owners, I have a version of this ROM for you guys as well. You can find it here.
This is JB-SlateROM, a customized and debloated ROM for the HP Slate 7! This was designed for the 2800 but might work on the 4600 as I haven't tested since I don't have a Slate 7.
EDIT: Confirmed working on the 2800!
EDIT: NOT working of the 4600/4601. I'll recook the ROM for you guys when time permits.
Before you can install this ROM you need CWM on your device. Go here to get a build of ClockWorkMod v6.0.3.3.
FEATURES
Bloatware removed! :victory:
If the bloatware is still there, go to Settings, then Apps. Find the app and hit Disable Updates. That will delete the bloatware permanently. If it's still there after that I did not remove it. Tell me what you want removed in that case.
Original launcher has been hidden (saved as an .apk-hide file) in favor of Apex Launcher.
ES File Explorer added.
GravityBox Xposed module added.
App Settings Xposed module added.
Quick Boot added.
Xposed Installer added. (Not activated by default! Go into the installer, hit Framework, then hit Install/Update, then hit Soft Reboot or Reboot!)

Changelog
v2.0 - Coming Soon Complete redo. More bloatware removed and tweaked a few more things... (AKA the "If an android crashes and nobody is around to logcat, can it still be fixed?" Update)
v1.1 - Removed references to ePrint.kpa (UNRELEASED)
v1.0 - Initial release.

Hi, I just tried to install this ROM (on Slate 7 4601), but in CWM, I get the 'Status 7' error.
before this, I see the line 'set_perm: some changes failed'. If that helps, I don't know?
Thanks.

The ROM must not be compatible with the 460x as I know it works fine with the 280x. I'll do a port of this with the 460x ROM and add it to the OP by next weekend at worst.
Hi. Same Error 7 here on my Slate 7 2800. Formatting all partitions before install doesn't change anything ..

Which country is your Slate from? Status 7 means incompatible with device.
If you're really adventurous do a Nandroid then toggle signature verification then flash the ROM. Theoretically everything will work, but Nandroid just in case

Thank you for your reply.
My Slate is from Polish distribution channel. It's P/N is E0H92AA.
Signature verification is by default switched off in CWM. Looking at the detailed installation log I can see these lines before the Error 7 is reported:
minizip: Extracted file "/system/xbin/iwpriv"
minizip: Extracted file "/system/xbin/iwspy"
minizip: Extracted file "/system/xbin/su"
set_perm: chown of /system/vendor/app/ePrint.kpa to 0 0 failed: No such file or directory
set_perm: chown of /system/vendor/app/ePrint.kpa to 644 failed: No such file or directory
script aborted: set_perm: some changes failed
E:Error in /external_sd/_/JB-SlateROM.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
EDIT: adding original file /system/vendor/app/ePrint.kpa to your ROM allowed to install it within CWM 6.0.3.3.
But after reboot the device is now stuck at the HP logo
EDIT2: Suspecting the device incompatibility I have tested that the original firmware (taken from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608181 ) runs without problems

It's because I removed bloatware and forgot to remove the references in the updater-script. Sorry about that, I'm VERY new to developing.
You should expect a updated ROM very soon. Probably tomorrow worst-case scenario.

Mmmh I tried to install your ROM but I got the same Error 7.
Then I proceeded to remove any reference into META-INF subfolders about ePrint.apk package and finally CWM installed it without hassle.
Nonetheless I got a stuck boot logo. I left it 5 minutes, but had no success, now I'm going back to my rooted 1.05.14 stock firmware.
I noticed a pair of things that may be useful to report:
- In /recovery folder there's a patch for the recovery. It may be useful to inhibit such patch, I added an exit 0 in /recovery/etc/install-recovery.sh just to be safe
- When you use CWM to do a factory reset (wipe data/factory reset), it doesn't wipe /system partition. You have to manually go in backup/restore -> format /system. Then you should wipe cache, maybe dalvik cache, and finally install the zip package.

Just stuck at bootloader. I see the HP logo (still image, not the boot animation) and then nothing happens. I have to push the power button for a long time to power off the device.
I'm redoing the ROM completely and hoping it works. Perhaps my Mediafire upload corrupted?

Don't think so, the .zip file unpacked correctly.
Sorry for the hiatus- other devices were taking my attention.
I just need to add some things into the redone ROM then I'll upload it. It could take a couple days though, I'm busy porting PAC-ROM to my tablet. Once that's done I'll continue work on this.

I don't think you can yet, unless rooting enables it, since you can't read/write to /cache/. On the root of the /sdcard/ partition is a logcat.txt file (pull it via adb) that shows the initial update process. URL of the update, along with where it's stored and where the recovery expects to find it.
Code:
04-04 08:46:33.848 1289 2646 W RecoverySystem: !!! REBOOTING TO INSTALL /cache/bueller-ota-51.1.0.1_user_510055620-signed.bin !!!
