Fine line on the screen - Transformer TF300T General

Hi there.
I'm having trouble with my tf300 where there is a fine line, with opacity of 50% near the asus logo up there. I just noticed it today..
Anyone else has similar problem? What should i do?
I tested it with screen test apps and its still there. Tried remove my screen protector but also there.. so the problem might be the screen i guess??
I've not yet unlock my tab, do you think i should go to asus centre or any other way to solve this matter? Thank you for your time.

I'd go for hardware failure. If you did not unlock, go to Asus to have it fixed.

Some time ago I had this problem.
The only way I could fix was installing a CR, I recommend Revolver rom.

Restart your TF.
I did the same once, ONCE. InsanityWolf.JPG.
I accidentally froze the asus keyboard from titanium... Maybe you have done something similar...

It sounds like software problem to me.
I've an extreme idea which I think you should do. We could try to look for the source of the problem, that would be time consuming and not worth it, IMHO. Here's what you want to do. To do or not to do is entirely up to you. Reflash the stock rom. Do not wipe data or cache. All your apps and data should still be in tact. That should fix any problem with hardware recognition.
Checked theres no detritus in the connector? Could be something, dust or whatever that's causing this issue.

Yeah I blew into the connectors but still nothing. Its only the middle few toggle buttons. How does dock work....isn't the middle the only connector and the other two hold it in?

Android is different than windows. Android is decided up into 12 partitions. The data partition is different than the os.
I had the exact same problem. Here is what i did to fix it:
Code:
Disconnected keyboard (not sure if it was necessary)
Held the power button in (1-2 seconds) to shut it down
Started the tablet up again.
Re-attached the keyboard
Thanked my stars I didn't do anything more drastic
Hope this helps

Yeah thats right, but it seems even something tiny in the middle one can cause random issues. Anyway it might not be the cause of your problem but worth a check.

Stuck/dead pixel!

My brand new pad has a pixel that won't show green...running one of the apps that says it fixes that... If it doesn't work, i'm going to see if I can get a replacement.
Just a warning to everyone. Be on the lookout.

I've got a dead pixel as well. Near the top left. Doesn't really bother me that much, so I don't really care. Surely one teeny little pixel doesn't warrant you returning it ...?

I used to think that. But if its been like, 3 Weeks and there's already one dead pixel... What does that say for the possibilities?
Just called Asus - he tried to get me to do a wipe.
Are you kidding me? wipe all my data? Asus - get rid of the spiel, its junk. Get ppl who know whats up on the phones ugh

My first pad had a dead pixel. I found it the second day and returned it as soon as I could. It was kind of in the middle of the screen, and I could see it every time I viewed a white web page. Needless to say, it bothered the heck out of me and had to be returned.
i went through 4 tabs until i got one that was fine display wise. first one had a cluster of discolored pixels, like someone pressed their thumb hard on the screen and damaged the area. the other two each had a couple grains of what looked like sand under the glass. All of these were around the same area on the tab, mid-lower left area of the screen.
Mines mid high right...
I'm worried about an attempted unlocking... I tried to unlock my tab before they fixed the c4okt issues, and im wondering if it might've sent them a file about that... Also wondering if unlocking will void it for a screen issue.

Dead and stuck pixels are far from unique to Asus. There is a difference by the way, a stuck pixel is one that is, well stuck displaying one color, these can sometimes be fixed by programs like you are running and/or gently massaging the area with a pencil eraser or something similar, dead pixels don't display any color and are rarely able to be fixed.

My dead pixel I guess just happens to be in a place where I rarely notice it. I tried one of those dead pixel detect and fix apps but it didn't fix anything.

There is one other thing you can try, VERY gently massage the dead pixel with a something like a pencil eraser, that will sometimes get it working.

That's fine and all... but there's a much thicker layer of glass over a capacitive screen than there is over a resistive touch screen... or just a LCD monitor.
Unless I'm missing something here, this advice does not apply anymore.

Don't feel too bad. I just made the mistake of looking at an all black screen on my Acer a510.
NINE stuck pixels!
One little cluster made a shape exactly like the big dipper. Very artistic, with pretty multicolored stuck-pixel stars.
Needless to say I wasn't thrilled. So much for quality control. Sounds like Asus at least isn't this bad.

From what I've seen, others with similar problems have returned their Nexus 7 to the store they got it from and exchanged it for a working N7. I would recommend you do the same. If you got yours from the Play store, start an RMA. If you got it from a B&M store, exchange it.
Since you've only had your N7 a week, you shouldn't have any problems exchanging it.

It seems like it's an issue with the touchscreen itself. I have no idea how to verify or solve this issue, though. That's why I would personally exchange the N7 as defective. I would think that since your problem is clearly demonstrable, it would be easy to exchange or RMA.
But there may be a solution around that someone else has heard of. If anyone with greater knowledge of touchscreen issues wants to weigh in on this, please do.

I just started seeing this issue. At first it was only happening within apps. I thought it was issue with maybe stretching the app to a larger screen. But I started seeing it on the home screen.

There was a fix posted here somewhere for a package called surfaceflinger-fix.zip you flash in recovery. Made a huge difference on the touchscreen non responsive issue.

I have also experienced this. I I didn't try turning screen off then on but I rebooted then it was fine again.
I'm more inclined to think that this is a driver bug than a hardware fault

Problem with touchpad clicker?

I just got my tf300t with keyboard dock. Great device.
I noticed something unusual with the chrome clicker bar underneath the touchpad though. If I press it on the left or the middle, there is clear click and a bit of resistance when pressing the bar. However, if I press it on the right there is no audible click and the bar doesn't really move down when I press it there. It seems like the micro switch inside is not working properly like on the left and in the middle. Nevertheless, the button does trigger the desired action (go back one step) when it's used. I am just wondering if this lack of clicking sound and pressing resistance is normal or the first indication of the button getting broken.
How does the clicker work on your docks?
Thanks a lot.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
Nobody has a minute to let me know if their clicker works better/differently? I would like to send the dock for RMA if there is a problem, but first I have to figure out if there really is a problem. For this, I'd really appreciate some help.
Thank you.

Clicker working exactly the same on both sides. Makes click sound pressing the button for both left and right presses.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T
Same here. Clicker bar works the same all the way across. Clicks on the right, middle, and left side. If it's not doing that then you need to take it back because it's faulty.

Thanks a lot. You are confirming my assumption that I was sold a faulty unit.
I sent it back in the meantime. Unfortunately, the replacement I was sent had an even more serious problem - there were two dark spots/stains "in the screen". They were not pixel errors though. At this point, I decided to give up on the company I had ordered from. Will wait for a while and then perhaps give it another try or go for another device Acer W510 also seems interesting too.
Thanks again and a happy holiday season to all of you!

Messing around with lock screen.

Can't get past the lock screen. Plain slide the bar to the right. Running phiremod ROM on cyanogen. Everything else going smoothly, actually for the last two years. Just started playing with the phiremod settings and tried changing the pic on the lock screen and its settings, and now can't get past the lock screen. Any way to pass it to get to its settings?

Got my problem figured out. Battery was low, very low. Plugged it in for a while. After it charged a bit, the lock screen operated correctly.
Since I'm not much for changing something that works well, I'll not be setting the lock screen on this Nook again.
Thank you for any consideration to my problem, though.
