Touch screen sensitivity - have to tap twice to register input? - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone have any issues with the touch screen sensitivity or having to tap twice to register an input? I am running Nova Launcher on ICS and seem to notice that every few screen touches are not registered and I have to hit an icon a second time to get it to work. I never noticed this at all on the GNex I had prior.

did you have the error from first minute or after installing / deinstalling anything?

I honestly don't know - just started noticing it recently. I suppose I could uninstall nova launcher and try it.

Tnt_lite_2.20 Launcher notification bug

I encountered a weird bug. If you open the properties button on the Launcher at top of screen and then click the "notification" tab, the tab pops up but never goes away. Click the Launcher setting tab again and nothing happens. At this point I rebooted the tablet to get the notification dialog box to go away.
Any ideas?
Hit the back arrow...
I tried that but did not work. All menus lock up after that. Reboot works.
Wow, that's definitely a bug - got the same thing with Launcher Pro when I clicked on Notifications. Needed to power down the device as it was (almost) frozen.
Anyone know if this occurs in builds before the 2.03 (performance pack)? I'm just wondering if this is the PP at work, or if this has been around since the first TnT Lite builds.

Roebeet, thanks for all your hard work
I can confirm the same results with 2.2.0 and launcher pro...almost frozen and my keyboard would not open.
Added to my Caveats section, just now. Thanks for catching this, smakcc!
Np. I really enjoy beta testing stuff.

I can confirm this on TnT Lite 2.00.
EDIT: I found that if I tap on the battery or wifi indicator, it resets the notifications, and the problem goes away after that.
Just wanted to confirm the same thing. I'll tap on the battery twice and that makes it go away. Glad I bought this thing, I love the feeling of discovery I'm getting from testing different apps and firmwares, haven't had this much fun since I hacked my first PSP!
Same Issue w/ ADW Launcher
I have encountered the same issue but only with ADW Launcher. Everytime I try it it eventually freezes with a white notification tab open. Launcer Pro and the standard launcher works fine. I have tried reinstalling ADW 3 different times and same results. I am running TnT Lite 2.2
I've had it happen with ADW and the swipe down action configured to pop up the notification panel. I never identified the actions it took to actually get it closed again, but I've been able to recover without having to reboot. 2.20 here for me also.

Wifi sleep policy does not work
Anybody else has this problem? My wifi immediately switches off if I put tab to sleep via power button, despite the fact that I put policy to never sleep.
If I'm understanding everyone here, when you swipe up or down on the home screen the battery notification bubble pops up and the controls on the top freeze? I fixed this by going into ADW's settings and disabled swipe up and down.
ETA it wasn't the battery bubble, it was notification bubble. My fix woiks - lol.
Tapping the wifi or battery icons does reset the notification dialog box. It would be nice not to have to do this though.

I found this to be a problem when you have gestures activated in ADW. I don't make my notification bar disappear, so I disabled gestures and the launcher notification bug went away. Of course, this does take away the gesture functionality, but it's something I only accidentally did anyway.
Ehun,
On a different note, thanks for your awe review of the g-tablet, made me go out and buy one!
You mention that it was hard to see buttons in the dark, I worked aroundit but using the buttons on launcher pro. If Only there was an app to poweroff the device it would be great.
Thanks.
I have this issue also. Mine comes from opening. FROM HOMSCREEN (LAUNCHER PRO) > MENU> NOTIFCATIONS.. when opened my window feezes and I reboot to correct...

Click on the actual notification bar and it should clear it out. It seems to be a screen glitche where the pop up ends up on the left side of the screen and slightly off screen.
Thanks for the reply. I will try as specified. you do a great job with the support! Thanks!
"Quick Boot (Reboot)" from Sirius Applications Ltd on the market will let you reboot, power off, or boot into recovery. It's free and it works since you've more than likely got root. Be careful though: it does have a 29.18kb footprint if you're short on space. B)

[Q] Screening not rotating..??

I just noticed a couple of days ago that the screen was not rotating when phone is placed sideways..i have that autorotation function enabled but still not turning.
I am not sure what happened, but it is kinda irritating.
I recently flashed SC 2.5 voodoo last week, didnt notice this at first. not sure if it is rom-related or just my phone ,,maybe some apps i installed..
has anybody had this problem before?
should i just wipe and flash again? i rather not do it if i can resolve it without flashing new rom.
thank you
There should be a rotation option on the far right of your pull down menu. Make sure it's lit up
Edit: sorry I didn't see that in your op. Have you tried disabling and re enabling

I think it is important to note here that NOT ALL LAUNCHERS SUPPORT AUTO ROTATION. Do your APPS while in use Auto-Rotate? If so, then it is simply your homescreen that will not Auto-Rotate because of your launcher, and THAT you cannot change, unless you get a different launcher. If your APPS do not Auto-Rotate either though, then yes, I would wipe, wipe, wipe, and re-flash. Also the launcher that comes with SuperClean does NOT Auto-Rotate.

i use launcherpro, and i disabled autorotation for the launcher so yes launcher doesnt rotate but i like it that way. but now even if i enable the autorotation for launcherpro it wont rotate. main problem is using browsers (dolphine, stock, or opera) or typing like sending text it just suddenly stopped rotating a couple of days ago, not sure why,, other apps like games that have default horizontal display is working fine (but they dont rotate anyway..)

I have heard of this bro, it is probably the sensor. Someone else reported the same problem. They wiped, wiped, wiped, and reflashed and all was well. I would try that, I hope it works for you!

I had the same thing happen to me about a week ago, but I was able to pinpoint when the problem occurred and I was able to fix it. If you use Google Maps, at some point it may tell you that your compass needs to be calibrated and that you should wave your phone in a figure 8. Well I started waving my phone and then suddenly it hard locked and the screen turned a funky shade of yellow. I had to pull the battery and reboot. At that point I lost all rotation and sensors. If you go to the Android market and download some Compass or Sensor apps, you should see that you phone doesn't work with those apps. I ended up wiping everything and just reflashing a superclean version again. Fortunately, all of my sensors started working again and I have not experienced this problem since.

ICS 4.0.3 bug

Guys,
is anyone else having problems when coming out of an app to find nothing on the home screen? all apps widgets disappear. I have to reboot to fix this.
I noticed someone else having this problem on another forum but there's no mention of any fix. Any solutions??
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Ok I think i've found a solution to this issue. It appears to be a fault with the stock launcher. I'm using another launcher now (not stock) and i'm not having any issues yet.

i've also discoverd that, but if you remember wherer one of app icons is on the home screen just hit it and when its starts hit the back key, then it should all be there again

I've been experiencing this from time to time, and have been rebooting to resolve. I'll try your approach next time. This issue has been in the background for me, as I"m really wound up with the random, spontaneous reboot issue, but it is annoying when it happens. C'mon ASUS with an OTA fix to all of this.
have you got any widgets on your home screen?
remove them and try again

I did not had this issue since I updated to ics.
It only happened on hc, after 3 or 4 days with no reboot and many installations.
As you my only way to solve it was to reboot. Or you may try to kill the launcher, to force it to reboot. I got it working some times.

We've been having some conversation about this issue here, maybe something we've discussed might help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516744
My problem is that the stock browser will suddenly and inexplicibly crash. Never happened before ICS.
I also observed the same issue of black home screens with stock launcher and now switched to ADW EX, and no issue.
One observation though this may be not the exact reason: I observed this issue only after installing the Volume+ app, before than this, I did not observe the issue after upgrading to official ICS, only yesterday after installing Volume+ app, I observed this issue twice and then switched to ADW EX launcher.

The stock hc browser crashed fairly often for me. Only once or twice with ICS and now it remembers the tabs open during the crash.

It happens to me sometimes and fixes itself when I touch the screen even without actually launching an app.
You can make the apps re-appear by swiping to one of the other home screens. I have a suspicion that there's something wrong with the draw call for the launcher. The apps are still there, they're just not drawn to the screen. Swiping left or right to one of the other home screens causes a draw call to occur again at which point the apps re-appear.
Also noticed that the camera pop occurs whenever I see the white triangle on the screen. Probably related to that.

Weird blue button

Hey guys,
all of a sudden a weird blue button kinda thing appeared below my menu button. It's visible all over the place, in every single app and game but doesn't seem to have any functionality. Neither by typing nor by swiping. I have no idea what its purpose could be or how a could make it disappear again. I didn't install any app or changed any settings that could have caused it to show up.
Do you guys have any idea?
Any help or input is highly appreciated.
Cheers,
Mark

Apps Closing When Screen Turned Off

Almost every time I push the power button to turn the screen off and then unlock the phone again almost any app I'm in has been closed. I mean it can be literally lock the phone and unlock it right away and it takes me to my home screen instead of back to the app I was in. The app is still in my recents, but as soon as I unlock the phone it takes me to my home screen.
This is happening on my unlocked version directly from OnePlus. When I try it on my T-Mobile version it doesn't close the apps and unlocks right back where I left off. It also is working correctly on my Pixel 3 XL and the RAM management is currently absolute trash on that phone.
I'm using Nova Launcher on both phones, I have tried turning off battery optimization and advanced optimization and it still does the same thing. When I use the stock launcher this does not happen.
Anyone else seeing this or know how to fix it?

Thanks for the quick reply, it's really starting to annoy me and I'm running basically the same setup as you.
I've done everything short of a factory reset to try to fix it. I might have to do a factory reset when I have a little free time.

Thank you, well that helps me rule out that it has nothing to do with routing or bootloader unlocked. I was starting to think that might have had something to do with it because my T-Mobile version doesn't do this.

It doesn't always do it. I just did a test and the xda app was right there when I unlocked.
But it happened to me literally every time I locked the screen last night. Even for this short amount of time.

Same thing here it doesn't always do it but it doesn't have enough to be really annoying. I can't seem to find any Rhyme or Reason as to why it's doing it.
Edit: I just walked my dog for 10 minutes came back unlock my phone and it's still on this XDA page like it's supposed to be. SMH
Ok, so this has bothered me a lot as well and I have mentioned this and a few other issues in one of my earlier posts.
It's definitely a bug especially, as it does not happen everytime (only most of the times) and OnePlus has to fix it.
However, I do have a theory on why this happens. OnePlus has added a new feature (quick launch?) which let's you access app shortcuts when you press and hold the fingerprint scanner even after unlock. Now this overlay would presumably not work very well if you're inside an app.
So I think OnePlus takes you to the home page to prepare for this quick launch shortcut overlay display.
Obviously, this is a new feature and I believe needs some more development and bug fixing.
I would've hoped that at least turning the quick launch feature off would rid us of this problem, but sadly it doesn't.
Hopefully it's fixed soon.
can you guys check if you have my prob aswell?
copy paste from my thread
I have a super annoying Problem when using Nova Launcher. My Dialer minimizes when i move my Phone away from my Ear. To reproduce: Open Dialer, minimize the Dialer, open again and make a Call, block the Sensor with your hand shortly. Looks like the Dialer crashes but it minimizes. For ending the Call i have to press the little icon in the Top Bar to maximize it first. Super annoying and with this Problem Nova Launcher is unusable. Somebody else with that Prob or someone have a suggetion to fix that?
I noticed the same problem, I thought I was just swing up to go back home before I hit the power button to turn off the screen out of habit and not realizing it. Glad to know I'm not crazy. I am stock from one plus but running Nova launcher.

Not my find but there's an update to the OnePlus launcher in the Play Store that once you update the issue with Nova goes away.
I updated from the Play Store and tried every single app on my phone and when I unlocked my phone they were still there no more going straight to the home screen.
