[Q] Annoying "Droooooidd" Sound on Boot Removal - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know of an app or way to remove or silence the annoying Drooooid sound when turning on the phone? There is an app called Silent Boot that I used to use on my TBolt that worked but it doesn't seem to work on my Razr M.
Thanks in advance

Without root access, your only choice is something like Silent Boot (maybe there's another app out there that does that that might work?) or manually turning it down before you reboot.

Does turning the system sounds down work??

startup tone

Is there a way to kill startup tone or at least reduce its volume? Doesn't seem to be linked with any of the system volumes
you can try to look for SilentBoot in the market. make sure you enable it after successfully installing it
when I put mine onto vibrate it doesn't make a startup tone

thanks, putting on silent does the trick, easy enough...

No, apparently audio feedback only works if you enable audible tones on dialpad.

Pandora

I have noticed that after I upgraded to the official 2.2 update and have the phone docked in the car dock, if I get a call or navigation voice kicks in pandora shuts all the way off and when I'm done it stays off. When I had 2.1 when I was done with a call pandora would start playing again. I thought it was the new battery manager, but I turned it to performance mode but it still turns pandora off and it disappears from the notification bar. Any ideas how to fix this?

I did a factory reset and it seems to have fixed the problem

I tried to post a link to my fix at Androidforums, but I don't have the permissions yet. Go there and search for "Froyo Pandora" and you'll find links to the v1.2.1 of Pandora which doesn't have this problem.
seems like pandora has gotten worse in lots of ways. it used to also show up in lock screen =\

No SMS notification sound

Hi everyone I asked this in the TMO help section but havent gotten anything useful so hopefully someone here can help..
My sms notification sound isnt playing for some reason, I've done a hard reset and restarted the phone...The notification sounds work for everything else just not SMS. I am using the default sms app and have gone into the SMS menu to make sure notification sound was checked.
Any one have any ideas? I really not want to factory reset if possible.
Did you double check that there was a notification sound picked and not silent.
The same with my S IV... no SMS notification sound at all...
I have solved the problem with a FR...

I had the same issue and found out that blocking mode was causing it. Blocks SMS sound even for allowed contacts. Disabled blocking mode or uncheck disable notifications and SMS sound came back.

Ended up just doing an exchange works now
I have the same problem on mine, but it's only when I change the sound profile automatically using either an NFC tag & NFC Task Launcher, or when I use a profile scheduler.
When I change it manually it's not a problem.
Been driving me around the bend.
SMS sound
Hi, newbie here,
I have tried a number of profile changers with the GS4 ,currently Automatit.
All produce the same result, reboot phone, sms sounds work ok, once the profile has been changed, no sms sound unless you reboot.
Not come across this before with any android phone (Last phone HTC one X)
I guess it is a bug, hopefully there will be a fix before long?
Regards Shanks
I'm also having this problem, but what I notice is, if you disable the vibrate when ringing (no tick) under ringtones, the SMS sound notification works.
If you enable vibrate when ringing (with tick), there is no sound only vibration for SMS.
Can you guys try it whether this is the same as mine?
found this on another forum.
It definitely works for me UK Samsung Galaxy S4 on Orange
If you have a profiling app like timeriffic or llama etc it stops the sounds on your sms (even when its not meant to). I uninstalled timeriffic and it works perfectly now
Yes, working again

Definitely a bug,I have tried a number of profile changers on the GS4 and my HTC one X and the bug is only there in the S4.
Probably a conflict with Samsung Touch Wiz?
Hopefully there will be a fix soon as this is a basic problem.
Uninstall any profile manager restore back the tone
Not until I unwilling to remove my favorite app Phone Weaver, the sms tone come back again.
Samsung bug here
I have a S4 and I have the same issue on the SMS notification sound, when using profile apps like llama
So 2 solutions :
- install GO SMS like apps
- or change the profile using the power button... (not sure that a reboot need to be performed).
I hope that Samsung will fix that soon...
It's fixed
Download the latest version from his blog (kebabapps.blogspot)
Working flawless on mine so far! GT-i9505

In some countries no shutter sound is not avaliable in the app like here in Sweden.
Usually the camera sounds are stored in system/media/audio/ui and there you can delete or rename the ogg file to silence the camera.
But I think the sounds for this camera is incorporated into the camera apk itself, because I can't find them in system.
Tapatalked.
Can someone that has the option to silence the shuttersound post their LGCameraApp.apk & LGCameraApp.odex?
Thanks.

Here in Norway "no shutter sound" is not an option so I use tasker to turn silent mode on when the camera app is in foreground.
Just to add on this one:
As disabling the camera sound in (custom) camera apps didn't work I simply renamed the "camera_click.ogg" file in system/media/audio/ui and now I can enjoy a nice and silent camera
Damn can't delete sounds. Hmm

you need RW permissions. using root explorer is one way to accomplish this.

Yes I know that
The sounds don't appear in this folder. They are baked in the camera app itself.

hmm works for me. thats how i used to do it on my gnex too. however, i'm still trying to figure out how to disable/remove the sound for the focusing. it beeps when you "click to focus".

Did you do this on an LG G2?
I haven't rooted my phone yet, but it seems that other people aren't able to find this file.
Just tried the Mobile Hidden Camera app from the PlayStore.
Seems to be able to take pictures without sound but because it's a "Spy" app, I can't see what is within the frame before I take the picture and can't tell if the camera has finished focusing or not.
This has been the only success I've had and it's definitely far from a permanent solution...
I'll think I'll keep it for the few times where I may have to take a picture without sound.
Use Tasker
Set up a profile that when the camera app is open, silent mode is turned on.
Works nicely.

Sorry what's Tasker?
Do I have to root my phone to use it?
Does your camera sound turn off when you set the phone on silent without Tasker?
Setting my phone on silent/vibrate had no effect and using Camera Mute from Glen on XDA didn't help either since I think the sound file is built into the camera app.

Tasker is only the greatest app available in the play store. Not free, but totally worth the money.
Yes, my phone does NOT make a sound when it is set to silent. If yours does not, then Tasker may not be able to help.
On my D801 renaming camera_click.ogg doesn't do anything.
Setting the phone to silent does nothing too, I had used a custom app designed to emulate the Tasker command that others used. No avail.
This is incredibly annoying! I'm in Canada, there's no shutter law, don't understand why i can't disable it.

Same here lg - d801v11b videotron
i have the d802, even in silent mode the shutter sound is still being played.
i installed a third-party camera app (cameraMX) and guess what? no shutter sound. you can disable it in the app's menu.
same goes for camera zoom fx i can't hear a thing.
didn't try out more camera apps though. they're enough for me.
here is d way to remove camera shutter sound permanently(rooting required)
Hi folks..
Inorder to remove d camera shutter sounds u have to root your phone..
Once rooted install the root explorer app in it..
Then head to / > system > media > audio > ui folder..
Select the music files whose name has "camera" in it and delete them..
Thats all!
Note: I recommend u to take the backup of those files before deleting so that u can restore them whenever u want the sound back..
Hit "thanks" if I have helped you..!!!
