(Ask)Plan for making paid custom rom - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Can we sell own custom rom?
Thanks

Of course, but It would be pirated before u even sell 1 copy. How would u prevent copying?

Nope build on stock rom
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda app-developers app

that's not the issue...android system is an open source project and licensed on apache. thus, no one may commercialize it without google permission. anyway, selling ROM is highly against XDA spirit . there a lot of FREE ROM out there. why should someone pay for it

You can't charge for a ROM on XDA, doing so would be immediate removal of the ROM and action that would reflect your account negatively. Thread closed.

The thread was locked a few months back.
As far as I remember, the user posting on xda never had the original devs permission to redistribute it.

I didn't mean regarding the thread, i meant about the kernel it self, did he continue developing?
I think that was the point, he wasn't the dev! He was merely translating from Italian to English and posting on the xda.
Might be wrong it was a good few months back

Both Angelom (Abyss - Italy) and Fluxi (Germany) have ceased kernel development AFAIK.
Fluxi was come back yesterday..... Abyss will not have updates.... Angelom (abyss devloper) now have an i9300.......

I do flash a custom ROM because

I'm really curious about the reasons for flashing a cell-phone.
Recently a lot of people are flocking to xda with clearly no basic understanding about flashing in general.
Is it the coolness factor? Is it the "control-back"-thing? Flashaholics by any change?
Because Samsung wont give us 4.2.1 that's why CM10.1
Because even without any and all programing knowledge i can learn how my phone works, and follow the process of adapting a rom to a phone, and in the worst case fix it myself. Because with a custom rom, you always know what and why is not working (assuming you know how to use a search button). Because of the ∞ options (was waiting for a chance to use this symbol). Personalized quick settings. Lockscreen weather. Undervolting. Backups (TB/CWM). better keyboard when longpressing "a". SMS popups. Designs. No bloatware. And last but not least the ability to laugh at damnsung. They want me to buy a new phone because my phone is supposed to be on ics and long since outdated, and here i am, running 4.2.1...
I get laughed at when i mention my flashing and phone-nerdness in general, so not the coolnessfactor.
What's a custom ROM?
I already did it on my Galaxy 3 and I want to get the best out of my phone.

There are lot of things that you can get by flashing a custom rom than using a stock rom
Because I want features not present in stock rom.
Because I like to flash dance

Need to more devs on galaxy note 10.1

Need more kernel devs.
Need more porters and rom devs.

Always buy a product for what it is and Never for what u hope it will become.. development for this tablet will come and grow as time goes on.. I found out this tablet came out in August but i didn't know about it until i was doing Christmas shopping.. People are saving up or haven't heard about it yet.. Just be happy for the developers we do have now.. We already got the best tablet on the market so only a little work need to be done to it.. Doing ports are useless knowing we will lose some features..
I have the tmobile galaxy s2 and the development grew so much after some time. And its just T-Mobile. There is still a lot of development even with galaxy s3 out. Just be patient or learn to dev yourself.

Developers are people too, they decide what they want in/as a device and no number of threads saying we need more devs is going to change thst.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
The current crop of ROMS available are very good, not really sure much more is required. If you have something specific you required why not PM one of the current devs and make a donation

PACMAN or Carbon rom?

Which one do you guys think is better
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Try them both and decide for yourself which one you like better. Just as an FYI, "what's the best rom?" threads tend to get locked really quickly.

I just want opinions
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
But they aren't productive to this community. In a way you put one ROM down. Its not respectful to the devs. So the best answer we can give you is to try them both for a few days each and see how they run. BTW , I believe, they are both going to android 4.3 right now which is still buggy.

Here is the thread for this rom over at the forum for the international s4 devices (i.e. i95xx)
You would do well to ask this question over there where someone more knowledgeable or the developer himself might reply. But judging by the mention of sprint users in the change log, there is a good chance its a unified ROM. Don't take my word for it.
Yeah I asked on his Google+ page and was told it was a unified build lol.
