Installing Polish 4.1 Release - Galaxy S III General

I want to install the Polish 4.1 Firmware but have some questions.
What's different between this and the U.K firmware? What will be different?
If I flash the Firmware through Odin, it resets and I lose all my stuff right?
(Also I'm not rooted and don't want to root)

I would also like to do this but do not know the consequences

You phone will think it's in Poland and if you use any banking apps you will not be able to use that's why I don't install it

no idea what is the difference between polish and uk firmware, in theory there shouldn't be any.
nop, everything stays exactly the same. i would always advise you do a nandroid backup, just in case.

How do you get the polish fw? Do you change your regional settings to Poland or download it on pc and flash it?

And no, the Polish version doesn't affect the apps that you'll see on the Google Play and won't make your phone think that it's in Poland. The Odin installation will most likely wipe your phone, so be sure to backup everything before flashing. But just to be on the safe side, if you don't know what you are doing, don't flash it and wait for the official release on your region.

4.1.2 Jellybean seeding to Note2 now

I read on the internet that the Jellybean 4.1.2 update has started seeding. If you have already got the update please share your feedbacks and reviews about the new update. I havent got the update yet. So, it seems that the update hasnt started seeding in India.

I'm on a German Unlocked DBT device and still nothing as of 15 minutes ago when I checked . haha.
it was only released in Poland.. all other countries and their carriers are on pending status.
And remember if you have a carrier branded device then you could be waiting even longer.
That's not true . 4.1.2 released in Poland is carrier branded.

Directions for how to flash 8010 firmware onto the 8013, then get JB over the air?

Could I please get directions for how to flash 8010 firmware onto my 8013?
I hope that by doing this, I'll be able to update to Jellybean over the air. Is this possible and is it a good route to getting JB on the 8013

You can't. You have a U.S. CSC and the update is for the German CSC "DBT." So with a German ROM on a U.S. CSC you won't receive any updates (ever) via OTA or Kies. There are instructions for both rooted and stock Wi-Fi Note's in the big thread that explain how to load the German base ROM and and then apply the update for people with non-German CSC's. If you decide to install the German ROM you can replace it with the U.S. version when it finally comes out and then you'll start to receive updates again normally.

Check your inbox + download german rom instead of uk rom in the pm then after flashing download csc changer from market and change csc to dbt and you will get the ota to jellybean (german rom has english and other languages normally)

You need to have a german base rom to do the update Anually but you have n8013 which has different software and the jellybean firmware isn't yet avaliable on samfirmware, so the only way to get it is by flashing the ics then change csc and then get the ota to jellybean

Alright I just followed your PM directions to change the firmware and switch to German ROM. It reset my device, as you said. When I check my device settings --> About Device, it now says "8010". When I go to software update though...it says "Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try later." Arrggghhhhhhh!!!!
I connected the device to my computer and open Kies, but also no update.

There's no reason to change the CSC. You can just flash the German (DBT) ROM and update and leave your original CSC as-is. Changing the CSC wipes the device and you'll have to change it back if your device ever needs repair. People are better off keeping their original CSC, using the German ROM until JB for their region comes out, and then flashing to it and replacing the German ROM. And none of what I described requires the device be wiped. I don't understand the sudden fascination with changing the CSC. The Note's no different than any other Samsung device.
BTW, how to check cdc on this tablet?

Received Android 4.3 OTA to my i9505 when using GE broodRom

This is not from broodrom and i wonder if it's safe to install it on my international gt-i9505, or will it brick?
And if I install it, will there be any different other than a new software? I mean, will I be able to flash all the roms that are flashable on the international one?

N7105 4.3 upgrade UK users

Has anyone updated to 4.3 official using any of the roms from sammobile? I see the nordic countries 4.3 is available, I normally use either this, the German or Swedish version, I've even used a Hong Kong one before now lol, but with the recent changes Sammy have made regarding knox and location lock etc, I'm a bit dubious to upgrade.
They normally just work, just checking this is still the case before I end up with an expensive paperweight.
There is a thread somewhere by chainfire with a fix to sammys region lock. The lion rom is pretty much stock with nox removed, you just have to use devil's kernel for wifi

Cheers mate. I flashed it the other day haven't got around to posting an update yet.
Yes it has knox, but I'm not going to be rooting this device because I use it for sky and a few other apps that require unrooted.
Impressions are good so far. Everything is smooth and all my apps are working as they were before, including the sky sports app which got an update recently to work with 4.3.
One thing to note though, if you use allshare cast dongle. It has a problem working with 4.3 devices that have been updated. So if you run into this issue the fix is to do a factory reset.
There is a workaround for rooted devices on here, it's in the S4 section.
A bit of a pain having to reset I know but seems to be the only solution for unrooted devices that run into it.

Hi mate
I'm also using the sky go app, and on stock 4.1 I've just been using ota rootkeeper to toggle root when needed. I really need root for the viper audio mod.
I'm just wondering which 4.3 ROM you've got it to work on? With 4.1.2 it NEEDS to be stock ROM and kernel for sky go to work. If I upgrade I want to get a ROM without knox, but any custom ROM won't work.
Please let me know as right I'm sticking to 4.1.2.
Thanks

There weren't any custom rom's available for the 7105 that were stock with knox/location lock removed when I last checked (may be different now?). I just used the nordic rom from sammobile.
If there's none available I think you'll need to wait for a dev to rip the rom and remove knox if you don't want it. Unless you have the time and skills to diy I got the skills but not the time, unfortunately
As I said, I'm not bothered about knox at the moment. I was more bothered by location lock, but I've not had any issue so far.

Some apps are funny as to what they decide is a security risk. Sky are so far up Apple's arse they tend to look for anything that's NOT as the manufacturer released as a security issue. It's actually bollocks but try telling them that.
My other Note 2 is rooted and running 4.3 without all the bs. But most of the apps I need simply won't install/run due to idiotic requirements of the app provider. Hence why I have a 2nd note 2 which has been rooted but I had to unroot and reset the flash counter to get these apps to work. Guess Sammy aren't too fussed, they did get 2 sales from me lol

4.4.2 Firmware

Hey guys.

Just before I do this, as I've been informed that you can't go back to 4.3 after updating bootloader to 4.4.2.
Which would be the latest 4.4.2 firmware I should flash for N9005 in Australia? I then want to flash custom roms like Xnote etc. Knox will be triggered after I flash a custom recovery am I right?

Oh cool. That's fine then. All these have open MSCs right? So I could technically use it stock? There will be an English option? I mean if it's all on there I don't know why Samsung doesn't release it at a faster rate, ir more at once... If indeed it works fine.
